For booking things like 'The Sanctuary' Chef's Table' Ultimate Ship Tour' 'Winemakers Dinner' that you cannot book in advance.Bookings and Line Ups start after the ship leaves port.

Then folks That don't live near the embarkation port have the same chance of getting a booking as they do.😊.

There is never a totally fair way. Booking after the ship leaves port will only add to further confusion, lines, pushing and shoving, etc. Imagine people rushing from the muster drills up & up 8 or 9 decks of stairs to the Sanctuary to get in line.

Also, sometimes bookings are made by passengers already on board from b2b's. Believe it is probably best the way it is.

I heard the Chef's table is done by lottery, and all those that put in are notified a few days later.

That's what we do, go on b2bs and the 2nd week we can sign up for whatever we want after 9:30am on 2nd embarkation:)

I think that once your booking is paid in full, you should be able to book these various things with a 50%

non-refundable deposit for any cancellations

The chefs table is not a lottery but rather they wait until they get enough people to fill the table before they notify you. I have been on cruises where they don’t get enough signups, and other cruises where they have been able to do several chefs tables. It depends on the number of people, the itinerary, and the chef.

We have found the best thing to do for these programs. Never sign up for them so we can do other things.  None of them hold interest for us so we do not worry about hurrying to sign up for them.  Makes for a much more relaxing embarkation day.

Those who are Platinum and Elite passengers are rewarded for their loyalty and one of the perks is priority boarding.  If your socialist theory were enacted the benefits of early boarding would be eliminated.  I suggest you cruise more and then you can line up and be the first onboard and race around making your reservations.

Not a brilliant idea by any means in my opinion. Coming in at least a day early, which goes a long way toward avoiding the chance of missing embarkation due to a travel problem, would also give you the same chance as someone who might live right next door to the port of getting on board early enough to do your desired sign up as anybody else would have that day (except for those who board earlier than you for one reason or another.)

I never sign up for them either.....If someone asked me to join Chefs Table because they have a space to fill then fine by me they obviously  like my  old country  sense of humor and we would appreciate one another' companionship .A good time would be had by all.😃😃

if you are that hooked on booking, boy have the cruise lines got you... we never book any of it... and  have a great cruise... don't need to sign up for anything or stand in line..

I suggest that they auction off all of the reservations the OP is talking about.  That way, the one who is willing to pay the most for it gets it.  

 

Let's have this auction take place at the first art auction, which I never attend either!
