What's your embarkation day look like? Outfit? Food? Activities?

What do you like to do/eat/wear/etc. on your embarkation day?

I see some people board with their swim suits on and jump right in the pool!

We typically like to wear comfy casual clothes (shorts/tshirt) and use the afternoon to wander the ship.  Figure out where everything is.  We'll grab lunch at either the burger joint (Guys) or Blue Cantina for burritos and tacos.  Eventually getting some drinks and finding a good spot to watch the sail off.  After which, we go shower up and get ready for dinner in the MDR.

Embarkation day, I usually either wear a t shirt, shorts and bring a light sweatshirt because the terminal is a little cold for me.

We are platinum now so we go to our room, drop off our bags, use the bathroom and head to Lido for lunch. We eat a leisurely lunch and check out the Hub app activities for the week (mostly checking movie times and selection) while rehydrating from our travels with many cups of water. Then we wander around for a bit, take some pictures, a few selfies, maybe play a little mini golf or basketball if it is empty, etc. Then we head back to the room to cool off a little, unpack, and by then it is time for the muster drill. After the stuffy muster drill, we get some more water and then find a nice spot for sail away.

I wear a sailor uniform and salute anyone that happens to walk by with stripes in their sleeves.

We wake up at the hotel, have our coffee. Get a stapler from the front desk for the baggage tags and wait on the cab. We are Platinum so not really any schedule to head for the ship. We also double check the documents, wallet, suitcases, the in room safe to make sure we have everything.

We mostly fly in the morning of the cruise, usually a 7am flight. Board at the earliest time, drop bags off in the room, eat lunch on the Lido, head back to the room and take a good long noontime nap until they bang on the door to shoo us off to muster. Head back to the room and unpack...then the cruisin begins! The first night is fun because so many go to bed early, the crowd really thins out after 8pm or so. That nap lets us go until 2 or 3am, which plays right into getting up late the next day for a seaday brunch.

T-shirt and Jeans...definitely jeans since they take up space in the suitcase and that's one less pair to pack.

Eat at the pasta place or whatever else is above lido (it was bbq on freedom) because most of the blue cards don't make it past lido before eating...so less crowded.

Then head to the atrium bar for a funship special or two until room is ready.

Disinfect room and unpack as much as possible

There’s one photo that I always buy when I cruise, and that’s the embarkation photo. So we always try to look presentable when we first board the ship for the photo.

As far as eating goes, we’ve made it a habit to find a restaurant near the port, have lunch there and then board the ship later. We seem to like that pace more.

I don't dress down to travel (e.g pajamas or sweatpants). This past time I wore printed leggings and a long sweater/tunic with slip on"driving shoes". In my carry-on shoulder bag (in addition to travel docs) I have a book, cover up (or equivalent) swimsuit and flip flops and sunscreen. Once I board I like to get a glass of champagne. If warm and sunny I find a bathroom and change. Then I sit in the sun, reading and drinking until room is ready and/or muster. If I eat before dinner, it's in the buffet. I don't cruise for the food. I eat when I'm hungry and not to picky about "needing" a particular food.

This past time it was overcast and my room was ready. Therefore, I stayed in my travel clothes wandered the ship with my Titos and club (no champagne or sparkling wine available) and then hung on my balcony until muster.

This is the bag I carry on the plane and onto the ship (I check my suitcase at both places):  enhance

I always wear shorts and a t-shirt, usually for one of my favorite sports teams depending on the time of year.  We always go right to the atrium bar for a few drinks and enjoy watching people board the ship, except on Spirt class ships due to the location of the atrium bar.

After that we get something to eat. Where depends on the ship, but it is never the Lido buffet. Head to the room after that and will unpack if luggage is there. From that point we normally hang out in the Serenity area until the safety briefing.

After the safety briefing we shower and change clothes and head to the Alchemy Bar until dinner (we always do early dining). After dinner it depends on what is going on in the ship that night.

Really depends on the port, our last trip out of NOLA was in the 60's and windy, everyone was bundled up. If it's a warm weather port, shorts, a T and flip flops.

We get up at the hotel, grab a quick breakfast and head to port. I’ll wear a comfy maxi dress (casual) and if it’s chilly a cardigan or cute jacket. We will grab a Guy’s burger for lunch and a funship. Then go unpack and check our the ship before muster. Then another adult beverage as we get ready for dinner.

We get up at the hotel, eat breakfast and make our way to the port. I wear a bathing suit under my shorts and shirt and he usually wears his  bathing suit trunks and a t shirt.

we get on board, explore a bit, then grab some food, usually a burger from Guy's. then hang by the pool and people watch until the room is ready. Go drop carry on bags and usually chill by the pool or walk around until muster.

We wake up in the hotel near the port where we stayed the night before. Usually we grab breakfast at the hotel. Then we head to the port. Hand over bags to the porters, with a tip. Walk pretty much onto the ship and hit the BBQ joint above the lido for food and a quiet place to chill until our rooms are ready.

We put our stuff in our room then wander the ship until muster.

We live in the city we are departing from so our morning will look like this:

Get up and change all beds so we come home to clean sheets, quick breakfast (cereal, fruit, etc), any last minute things for the cat and to he ready for the pet sitter, pack the car, and head to the port.

We have matching t-shirts for our group that say "Pirate" for the guys and "Wench" for the girls, paired with either shorts or capris. (Also have ones that say "Marco!" (guys) and "Polo!" (girls) for shore excursions).

Once we board the ship, set up meeting place with my teenager and then lunch at either Guy's or Blue Iguana. I am planning on exploring the ship after that, unpacking once my room is ready and luggage delivered, dinner in MDR, possibly a show.....and definitely several tasty adult beverages.

Embarkation day for us usually entails waking early at the hotel to grab breakfast, get ready and reconfigure the packing of our suitcases. We like to arrive at the port early so we can board as soon as possible. I am Platinum so that helps! I tend to dress up a bit for embarkation - usually a cute summer dress or shorts and a cute top. It's hot on deck when we board and I want to be comfortable.

Once we board the ship, we drop our bags in our cabin and head to Lido for drinks and lunch! I'm a creature of habit so I always start with a Fun Ship Special! We spend the afternoon just soaking up the nice weather and imbibing on a few cocktails before muster!

Before muster we check to see if our bags have arrive and if they have I will quickly unpack. I like to feel settled in. Then it's up to muster and off to the outer decks for sailaway.

Embarkation day is the best!

I arrive in the departure city a day or two ahead of time, both to allow for time to be a tourist and to make sure I am covered in the event of a travel snafu. My embarkation day usually involves getting to the port a bit ahead of schedule and checking in all my luggage other than a backpack with documents and a change of clothes. I'll board in jeans or shorts depending on the weather and have the alternate in my backpack in case it's colder or warmer than anticipated on the ship. On my first cruise we attended the sail away party but this last time I found a serenity deck chair and enjoyed sail away with some quiet.

We always fly in the day before, so on a Port Canaveral cruise (on the 15th this month) we'll rent a car, drive to the hotel, check in, grab dinner at Florida's Seafood Bar & Grill, check out the beach near the hotel and call it a night.

T-shirt and jeans on cruise day, grab a light breakfast, drop off the rental and head to the port for embarkation as early as possible since we're platinum.  First stop is somewhere on Lido for a funship special and a Guy's burger.  This cruise on the Sunshine we'll more than likely head back to the less crowded Havana area where we'll grab a bit more food and some more drinks.

Sandwiched in there will be unpacking, muster drill, Alchemy Bar, MDR (anytime dining), and we'll play it by ear from there..... maybe the Alchemy Bar again and/or check out the casino.

We fly to Florida the day of the cruise from the cold and snowy north.  I wear my jeans and sneakers, a summer shirt with a warmer shirt or sweater over that.  At the airport I take off and stuff my winter jacket into the pocket of my luggage to grab when we get back to our home airport after the cruise.  When we arrive in Florida, I take off and stash my warmer shirt and then stay in  jeans/summer shirt until later.  Once onboard, find lunch, but we seem to board after the crowds arrive so that is stressful.  But we do  not want to skip lunch then be starving and overeat at dinner.  Unpack when luggage arrives.  After muster drill, take a shower and change into dinner clothes.

We're departing from New Orleans in a couple weeks, so we'll probably start our day with some beignets at Cafe du Monde and a nice walk around the French Quarter. We have Faster to the Fun, so we are planning to board as soon as we can, rather than wait until later when traffic is a snarled mess because of Carnival parades. Planning to wear some harem pants and a coordinating shirt, plus a cardigan if it's chilly. Since our room should be ready when we board, the plan is to drop off our bags, then head up to get some lunch and drinks before the crowds hit. Then we'll do some unpacking and exploring, probably. Then muster, sail away, and a reservation for dinner at the steakhouse.

We wake up at the hotel and put on shorts and summer shirts.  Head down to breakfast in the lobby then sit and wait for the shuttles to start running.  Usually we take the first shuttle but this time Brother has said he would rather wait in the hotel than in the terminal until boarding.  We are Platinum and they have bought FTTF so we can go at any time.

Once we board the ship, we head straight to the lobby bar for a drink.  Then we go to our cabins to drop off our carry-ons.  Next we head up to the Lido for a Guy's burger.

At this time, they are usually refueling the ship.  The only place that then allows smoking is the casino bar.  Three of the four of us smoke so we head down there.  Naturally, you can't smoke without having a drink so we do both.  After two or three when our tongues start getting thick, we decide to wander until it's muster time.  By then our luggage has arrived and we go back and unpack.

After muster we head up to the Lido deck for the sail away party and to wet our whistles again.  By then it's time to get ready for early seating.  After dinner, wander, then hit the casino to lose our shirts.

We cruise in the summer so naturally we have on shorts, a t-shirt and sandals. We set our alarms to wake us up in our Airbnb around 8 or so. We take showers and get dressed then call for our Uber to pick us up around 9:00.

We get to the port shortly after our Uber picks us up, drop our luggage off with the ports, then head inside to check-in. This is a fun process for us because it means our cruise is beginning. This is usually a quick process since we check-in online. Then we go to the FTTF waiting area, and wait until we can board.

Once we board the ship, we go directly to our cabin to drop off our 48 sodas, 2 bottles of wine and 4 bookbags. Then we head to lido and grab a burger at Guy's. Then we get a good seat to sit down and eat and people watch. We like watching the people come out onto lido for the first time, seeing their expressions. We just sit at our table for a while, usually going back for seconds.

Once we're done eating, we go back to our cabin to unpack and get settled in. Then we wonder around the ship just watching people. Then at 3:30 we head to muster. Then we will either head to lido for the sail-away party, or we'll go and relax on our balcony and watch the sail-away.

After we are sailed away, we will find something going on around the ship to do to hold us over until dinner.

Where's the line between "watching people" and "creepily staring"?
