Shame it’s not in at the same time as Anthem, would have made for a great photo!

I agree.  Remember the 3 sisters photoed off the coast of Florida.  I wished they had welcomed the Symphony and had 4. Oh well.  I went on the Harmony the week after the sisters met. Lots of top brass still on the ship that week since it was the full first 7 day cruise.

China Phase 2 pushed back from Feb 24 to Mar 9.

Short cruises pushed to Mar 9 as well. IIRC, they were supposed to be Mar 2.

Thanks

My guessing now has Wonder Of The Seas in Bayonne for Christmas 2021. This ship with year round deployment from Shanghai would be designed for cold conditions.

They were indeed supposed to be March 2. They were also supposed to be in December and November of last year. I now believe the Summer 2021 short Caribbean cruises will be released in roughly 2023.

It would be more telling if China Phase 2 or 3 was removed entirely.  I think at this point they will stay the course with the expectation that China is fully recovered from the Coronavirus scare by next year.  While I'd love to see them swap plans and make Wonder a western ship and make Oasis 6 the China ship, they are probably too far into planning and construction for this to be feasible.

We are booked on the Singapore to Tokyo (April 25, 2021) cruise with a call in Hong Kong.  I fully expect that port to be replaced by either another port or a day at sea at this point.  Many on the Roll Call were saying this might be the case even before the virus due to the political unrest.  Hopefully, all of the fears of the virus and the unrest will be history by then, not just for the benefit of the cruise but especially for the poor people who live in that part of the world.

Back in 2019, people on your roll call were concerned about the violence at a port of call in May 2021?

Can someone translate the deployment flyer, please

It doesn't mention any ships and I have no idea what a phase of China could mean

Deployment flyers are organized by destination, not ship.

So China Phase 2 might include one ship for the region or itineraries covering a specific period of time. You won't know until closer to the release date what exactly will be included. But in short, the entirety of that destinations cruise options will be published in different phases.

The Short Caribbean release will include the shorter cruises in the Bahamas/Caribbean.

And so on.

(But even then, sometimes the release doesn't include everything for a particular category and remaining cruises will be released at a later date.)

I don't think that it makes any sense at all to worry about what could happen in a cruise more than on year out. If the violence will not escalate / get back under control which is likely there is no reason why the port of call in Hong Kong will be cancelled / replaced. If another virus outbreak will occur next winter then the whole cruise will be at Jeopardy, but again no point to worry about these things yet as so much things can still happen. Nevertheless I would guess to 90%+ per current status that the cruise will be operated as planned.

Royal Caribbean have a 16 night cruise port booking from Southampton  8 April 2020 under the name “Anthem Of the Seas”.

This is while Anthem is coming across the pond.

Sounds like Spectrum or Ovation.
But no port booking 16 nights later.
Maybe a Trans Atlantic?

I would assume neither. Spectrum has to go under serious renovation to make it suitable for non-Asian markets and Royal wouldn’t remove Ovation from Alaska especially because in order to get to Europe, they would have to go all the way around the world through the Suez. My bet is that it might be Wonder pre-inaugural for TAs.

As my first question wasn't answered, I will ask it again, though in a different manner. Will this effect cruises in the summer? Let's say Spectrum comes over from China, will it sail the summer season in the US or Europe for discounted rates?

I think it would be far more likely to come to Australia. We don't have a winter ship (southern hemisphere). It would give royal a chance to test the market and much closer.  They will charge what they think they can get.

I agree with other posters - really doubt that entry is for Ovation.  Surely she will go to Alaska as planned.

Given we are coming into northern Spring soon, It could be for Spectrum.  If it is, Royal have clearly decided that the Chinese cruise market is stuffed for several months at least.  This has been my view since the pandemic escalated several weeks ago.

Did that Southampton entry appear in the last week or so?

I have been on the Spectrum - What "serious" renovation?

Very little will need to change

I agree, just open the Solarium to all, all you have to do is not activate the locks.  The silver lounge becomes the D club and the golden lounge is the suite club.

They would do much if they were sending her for less than 2 years anyway

Agree.  All I'll add is they would need some more English soeaking crew.

They can't send the Chinese crew home. I think passengers would understand.  Most if them do speak English, just not to the standard some people would like

If this is the Wonder, 16 days is an odd one

If it were to mirror the Spectrum it's 7 days to Barcelona, but if it goes straight to Dubai, it could well be 16 days

If it were going to the US, 16 days is surely long a time for a Transatlantic

Intriguing

Ditto, the above, if it's the Spectrum, which will in turn mean it must be coming to Europe for the summer. This would also make up for the Anthem being the only Southampton based Royal ship this summer

Nothing showing on Southampton vts for RCI until Anthem docks 24/4/20.  Where are you seeing this?
