difference between classic and premium

You can always upgrade after you embark. See how it goes and if it makes sense to pay $12 per person - per day extra , or if it makes sense to just pay the difference as you go.

For us it makes sense to just pay the difference and not upgrade. The past two years we pay less than $30 for the two of us, that is one seven and one ten day cruise.

If you do decide to upgrade and you are doing it for everyone in your room, it is may be worthwhile to go all all the way to the "Drinks & More" package.  That increases the base cost by $7.50 per person per day ($9.00 including the service charge) but it also includes the mini-bar in the room, $50 in casino free play, the wine tasting experience, and two bottles of (cheap) wine.  It is a very good deal if you like to make use of the mini-bar to drink in the room, since that can get very expensive otherwise.

I have the classic beverage package as a perk.  Can I upgrade to Drinks & More before or do I have to wait until I embark to upgrade.

Yes, I just did exactly that.  I just gave them a call and they took care of it.  They asked me whether I wanted to use my OBC or pay now (I used OBC).  As actuarian said, the new Drinks & More package is a no brainer compared to the Premium if you want the convenience of the mini bar or will use the casino (a double no brainer if you'll do both - the cheap wine and wine tasting are just gravy).

So does Classic package include soft drinks ? Yes or no?

Yes, soft drinks, water and specialty coffee are included. Pretty much any drink $9 or under you can get with the package.

Is it possible to upgrade from Classic to Premium online? Also, does everyone in the same cabin have to upgrade. I will be content with Classic, but DW has higher standards...

do not need to have both people upgrade. I usually do and wife stays with classic

We normally drink beer not too many fancy drinks however we do like to order the drink of the day. Should we stay with classic or should we upgrade. What is the difference in price per day. Thanks

You don't need the premium package for beer and the drink of the day. Just for the "fancy" drinks. You should be fine without upgrading but can always do it on the ship if you change your mind.

You can upgrade online if your drinks package is showing in your Cruise Planner.  If it's not, call Celebrity and they can add it, and upgrade your wife's package.  Otherwise you can upgrade onboard.  The advantage of waiting is you can give it a day or two and decide, and if you do upgrade, do it through a bartender and you may make a better friend for the rest of the trip, as they get the gratuity  🙂

Thank you all for the details. I will wait to upgrade onboard. I love looking for a favorite bartender! I will make sure they get the credit for the upgrade. Got to see my favorite on Rhapsody last month after not seeing him for a couple of years.

Looking forward to being back on Celebrity since they are coming back to Tampa. Last Celebrity cruise was back in 2002 on the Zenith out of Tampa.

San Pellegrino and Evian and I will drink 6 bottles per day so PBP worth it for me.

I  believe  we have the Premium with our suite  booking deal and also a recent booking where the  4 perks incl Premium.

Will be nice for the  better water and  my Baileys.  ( altho no.one charged extra for it)!

Last cruise  on EDGE I brought along  a mini Brita pitcher to filter the awful X water in the gray btls on the Claasic.   It worked well but I can leave the Brita home  if I have the Premium.

And in case there is still some confusion, here's the info from the website

Except that's not on the website, at least not on the US based one. I assume that the package is as it has always been but what shows on the website is different.
