P&O Cruisers - What are things like where YOU are?

I have just been to the hell known as Tesco.  We have a large Tesco Extra that is frequented by lots of customers but for some reason the management has decided that they only needed to open 2 tills today so there were big queues to check out and It took me 25 minutes to get to the front of the queue.  Next week I will go to Sainsburys or the smaller Tesco which is actually nearer to me but doesn't stock everything that I  wanted today.

We were due to have new blinds fitted today, the company said they would be here am, what they didn’t say was 8:30 am, we were not quite ready for that. Anyway all 3 blinds installed by 8:50am, excellent service.

Blindingly good.🤣

Having seen that Graham has just come off Anthem I thought I would have a look at it.  I have decided that as my mobility is never going to improve, only get worse,  although major surgery may help for a while,  I need to get out there and go  on as many trips, weekends and cruises as possible  .I can hobble around during the day but use a scooter later.

We usually go for  the smaller ship and more formal but I wondered if getting out of our comfort zone might be fun.  We are very friendly and have loads chats  with others on our cruises don't socialise a lot, although  we are used to a busy social scene as OH owned a holiday park and   bar with music and dancing.

I have finally got OH to have a look at Anthem, he is there now, but judging by the huffing and puffing  I suspect his search is not going well.  He can get impatient with search engines.😍🤣   although normally he is very laid back.

Shall we go out of our comfort zone?????   I'm hoping!!!!

indiana - I don't walk too brilliantly, so for me a smaller ship and being near a lift from your cabin with not too far to get to anywhere on the ship is important.  I would imagine on one of these huge ships length of some of the corridors would be too much to cope with?  Or you would be using a scooter all the time; perhaps this is  OK for you.

One reason I liked the old Saga ships (Pearl and Sapphire) so much.

I have walking problems and take a mobility scooter with me to get around. I am booked on Anthem in August 23, we are taking four grandchildren with us. I am really looking forward to it and experiencing what the ship has to offer.
We have been on other Royal Caribbean ships, Grandeur, Adventure, Navigator & Harmony and I have to say I have loved all of them especially Harmony. There is something for everyone in my opinion.

I am sure you will have a great time if you decide to book

Really gutted. Our September Baltic cruise with Saga has just been cancelled - lack of demand, reading between the lines. We were really looking forward to seeing new places, and not going to SPB was not a problem. Saga have replaced the cruise with a round Britain cruise, followed by seven days to the fjords, but we are not interested.

So, what to do ? At this late stage other cruises in September are not cheap - we looked at Azura in September. 14 nights in a decent cabin is almost £3500 each, which is silly money, even if flights are included.

Any suggestions welcome !

What a shame for you.

I'm sure you have already looked, but I saw some cracking Princess offers recently.

Sorry to hear that. Graham sings the praises of Anthem. Dodgems look fun. I'll give it a go in September.🤣

We got a letter in from Fred Olsen yesterday. They have just reduced their cruises for later this year , there are some nice options in late August, early September depending on where is convenient for you to leave from.

Rip cord by Ifly and the flow rider was very popular.

The Dodgem cars you just wait in the queue but North Star you have to book on the App and best to do it ASAP when you board.

A beautiful sunny morning here in Stoke, the only draw back to days like this is the early alarm call from the birds at 4:15am.  The washing is out on the line and all of the housework is done so the rest of the day will be nice and easy until my niece's daughter arrived after school, she wants help with a project that she has to hand in on Friday.

have a good day everyone where ever you are and whatever you have planned

Tell me about it Josy. We have a blackbird which sounds like Woody Woodpecker, every morning without fail then throughout the day. A few years ago we had one which sounded like the old trimmer phones from the 70's......weird!
