It's Michelle's Birthday today so we went down to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and had a boat tour around the harbour.

We got very close to this beauty, very impressive.

Then again, give me any ship at the minute...

We looked at a cruise on the scarlet lady but concluded it was not for us, aimed at a younger demographic I suspect.

The ship looks nice though.

Yes, the tattoo parlour and piercing studio doesn't really appeal to us either..

Tattoos on a moving ships could be a problem…….. (in addition to just being ugly IMO). Fine on young taught skin, not so good when wrinkles and fat are added into the mix - but each to their own.

Went to weymouth for a long weekend. Fell off the kerb and broke my arm on saturday had to go to dorchester ae am now plastered. Before you ask I don't drink so was sober. Still it could have been worse I could have done a jean and broke my hip. 🤣🤣🤣

Oh dear, I hope you recover quickly....

There is an argument for drinking, the pain would not have been so bad😊

Good advice Andy, and it must be good because I'd already decided that was what I was going to do😁

I know what you mean about the attitude of others Andy. I ventured into town last week, thought it would be alright to wander around the open market, not a bit of it. It was like free for all, and not a mask in sight, so I came straight home.

I'm not depressed as such, just bored and fed up of the same mundane day to day routine, with no definite end in sight. The catalyst was the cancellation of yet another cruise, but looking at the forecast for Norway now, the weather's just as bad there, so we're not missing much😉

On the plus side though, we have a semi final to look forward to, so life can't be that bad, now can it?😊 You and Michelle take care

Avril xx

I’m glad you’re not too bad Avril. That sounds like my January and February. I must admit most of the places I go mask wearing if pretty high. I moan about my job sometimes but at least it gives me a reason to get up each day! x

Happy birthday to Michelle……

Lovely idea to do a little cruise around the harbour - hopefully it’ll soon be longer cruises for you both.

I have a bit of food porn for you! My sister took us to a lovely huge pub that looked like a barn. Beautiful garden if only it wasn’t so windy! I had beef burgionion which I shall add in a minute as I took the photo on my phone and I’m typing this on my iPad and the photos haven’t loaded onto the iPad yet 🙄 Don’t you love technology!

We had a tour of their house and garden, lunch out and then had a very windy walk along the seafront and pier ! Just about dodged the showers, it was a good day.

Sorry to hear you have fallen and broken your arm.

I hope your arm mends quickly.

Well the hope that I would see my daughter and granddaughters this coming birthday weekend appeared to have been scuppered. My daughter was self isolating due to two of the children in the case she teaches returning a positive test, at the time of Father’s Day, so didn’t see her then, came out of isolation on then to have the bubble youngest daughter having to isolate due to a separate case. She was due out of self isolation on Thursday, but this afternoon my eldest granddaughter has had to have a PCR test as a number in her year have gone down with the variant, the school has now been closed until next Tuesday. Hoping that my granddaughter tests negative.

Last night we started to think about what to do for my 70th Birthday next year, so far on the list is a Med Cruise, a trip to Newfoundland and Quebec in Canada, where my wife lived for 8 years, a holiday in Tuscany or a Caribbean Cruise. Next task is to price them up.

John and I had a lovely couple of hours in Herne Bay today. Weather was much better than predicted, was really warm in the sunshine.

This was my lunch view and a general view of the sea 😊

Looks like a nice day out. We had a busy day. Clean out the garage, trip to the tip, into the building society. Take away baguette From Gregg's and then sat in the deckchairs in the town square watching the tennis on the open air big screen. Supermarket . Jobs done.🤣

Been at work all day, and had a 7 am start so am just catching up now.

Sorry to hear you've broken your arm Delgirl, hope it heals quickly and you're not in too much pain.

Happy Birthday to Michelle, hope you're enjoying your day.

We have had a dull overcast day, and it's now not stopping to rain.

Neither Pauline or myself like tattoos.

I cannot understand why people want them but everyone is entitled to do what they want.

I am not keen either Graham, a friend of mine had a humming bird on her bum when she was 16, now she is nearly 60 and it looks like a Pterodactyl.

....And how much did you spend in Gunwharf afterwards?! 🤣One of our favourite birthday place too. Hope you both had a lovely day and made it home before the rain.  Lovely to see such a beautiful ship in  such a great location ❣️

I managed to navigate away from Gunwharf... Phew... 😊

Michelle hasn't been out much since before the first lockdown so by the time we had seen the Mary Rose, been on Victory, had some lunch and did the boat trip, that was enough for one day.

I'm sure we will be back there soon.
