Your amaryllis is huge. Ours must be smaller because of the cold.  It has bloomed twice but you know, it is wearing a turtleneck. 🤔

Total Seinfeld joke opportunity.

LOL.  Actually we had 3 amaryllis before this one that were normal size.  They bloomed out so early I got another one just before Christmas. It just kept growing taller and then finally bloomed.  I plant them out in a flower bed after they are done.

Hey Everyone,

Tons of pages to catch up on but wanted to pop in and say hi. Beautiful day in Nassau today. Sunny and 75°F right now. Uneventful trip so far. If not for masks in doors ( a PITA in my opinion) and the total kack if crowds this would be a pretty normal cruise. Entertainment is all running. I thought the headliner last night was poor... just wasn't my thing. The Aqua show was AWESOME. I like Allure better with Dreamworks not aboard

Windjammer is open for dinner. So far the food us nothing to write home about. No self serve in there ir the Solarium bistro. The crew us fantastic. Everyone is friendly and trying to please.

Apparently we made a stop in Coco Cay in the middle of the night for a "routune crew transfer". We all know what that means. I slept through it which I'm a bit annoyed about. Would have liked to see CC. But I was really tired last night after a long day.

I have not caught up on all the pages here so if anyone asked me any questions I sorry but I swear I'm not ignoring you I just didn't see them. Tomirrow is a sea day and I'll have nore time to post. Si feel free to ask away. I'll try to stay up to date at least from the point of this post.

Freedom is here with us. And of course, I was up to catch sunrise over Nassau....

I also bought some amaryllis and plan on planting some of them in the yard. Some I will keep in pots for having in the house next year. I also ordered some white ones that arrived yesterday. They weren't supposed to come in until after we got back. Here are a few that I found at Walmart a couple weeks ago on sale for 2.63 which I thought was very cheap. They had solid red and red and white stripped. Went to another Walmart right before we left and found even more. 😁

A Panama Canal trip was next on our list.  We didn't have anything booked because we had the move going on.  My plan was that as soon as we got completely moved I would book that cruise.  Now I don't think we will ever do that trip.  I really wanted to see the canal in action.  That will be wonderful cruise for you and especially fun with a relative to catch up with.

Somehow, someway you must find a way to do that trip. To see the engineering marvel of the Canal and Locks using the technology of the early 1900's is just unbelievable. We have done this trip, (through the original Locks), 3 times. One "Full Transit" from California to Florida and 2 "Round Trip" from Florida. Someday we will make plans to see the the "Newer Locks" on a larger ship.

@aussielozzie18Thank you so much for posting those amazing photos of a part of the world I don't know much of.  Mother Nature at her finest.

@Ocean BoyGlad you're enjoying your cruise.  I know how much you were anticipating cruising again, especially to escape your beyond freezing weather at home,

@ReneeFLLStunning flower!!

Temps to go up to 65 today.  I am not complaining but feel most comfortable in slightly higher temps.

Congratulations to the Cincinnati Bengals on beating the Titans yesterday. Now if the Bills can manage to beat KC tonight, my plan (like I have anything to do with it 🤣) to have the Bills host the AFC Championship game will come true.  Trying not to get myself too excited for the game tonight.  Deep breaths.  We're going to a friend's house tonight for a watch party with a bunch of other local Bills Mafia.

I’m rooting for the Bills to take it all this year and I think Josh Allen can help them do it.  I would love to watch them beat KC tonight, I’m not a Patrick Mahomes fan, but we’re on our way up to Albany to visit my MIL and will be driving home during the first half.  We’re recording the game, I’ll just have to stay off my phone, CC and social media to avoid spoilers!

Also, we’re listening to the Bat Out of Hell album that Andy downloaded last night.  Paradise By The Dashboard Light gets most of the love but I had forgotten how many good songs are on the album.

I actually didn't think I'd get into 'Archive 81' but my stepdaughter insisted I'd like it after she saw the first 2 episodes.  We watched the rest of the series together.

Had not heard of it but after reading the description I put it on my watchlist. Looks very interesting.

Good luck tonight. I think the Bills are a better team than the Chiefs so I'm predicting a Bills win. If the Chiefs stand a chance it will be because they are playing at home with the fans being the 11th man. I'm just glad I'm retired and not having to pump out content for the countless Chiefs specials my station is doing.

We are huge Buffalo Bills fans wife grew up in that area and her brother in law and one of our best friends has season tickets. About 15 years ago we were on a cruise out of Brooklyn and Doug Flutie was on board , I kid my wife sometimes and at dinner the first night I told her and her mother that Doug Flutie was seating at the table behind them and they both called me a liar 😁, we saw him and his wife everyday, didn’t want to bug him on his vacation but last night of the cruise he got up and talked to some of us and got a picture of him and my wife he was about the same night as my wife in heals . Go bills.

One thing about this ship that is really annoying me. The balconies have low, fixed back chairs, not high adjustible back chairs like I had on other ships. I find it impossible to sit out there and be comfortable for any length of time. What is the point of having a balcony? I'd like to walk over to Freedom and take two of their chairs. Who at RCI corporate thought this was a good idea?🤨

SAG AWARDS MOVIE VIEWING "THE TENDER BAR."

download.jpeg.2639e7e4fc45a3255901e813e2133d40.jpeg

I was excited to watch this movie staring Ben Affleck and directed by George Clooney. After watching it I was disappointed that I wasted two hours of my time on it.

Story goes like this.

"In 1972, 9-year-old J.R. Maguire moves into his grandfather's dilapidated house in Long Island, N.Y. Searching for a father figure, he falls under the unconventional tutelage of his uncle Charlie, a charismatic, self-educated bartender who introduces him to a handful of the bar's colorful regulars. As the years pass and J.R. grows into a young man, he tries to fulfill his dream of becoming a writer".

Essentially it's your typical coming of age movie. While Ben Affleck does give a very good performance hence his nomination as best supporting actor the movie is just too slow and Clooney's directing is lack luster.

If you are a Affleck fan I'd say give it a viewing. As for watching a good coming of age movie there are many others I would watch before this one.

Just my opinion so please don't take my view as one of a professional reviewer and as a basis to view this movie or not.

I think Freedom may have been our first “big” ship. It shrank from being in the water so long.

We disagree on this I am not an Affleck fan but I thought this was a good film.

In the early 70’s I reviewed music for Warner Brothers and I know I posted that several times but I am not sure if I ever posted that I reviewed movies for a NYC newspaper .
