I apologize if I haven't sent get well wishes to anyone,

I miss "stuff" here frequently. The thread moves so fast and it seems that when I come back the software does not always bring me to where I left off. I always feel like I'm missing something or ignoring someone.

Sometimes when I've overlooked something I notice it later when someone responds. You can't catch everything.

In case anyone is interested in Sea Dog's Black Manhattan recipe.

3oz Rye

1oz Amaro Averna

2 dashes Black Walnut Bitters

garnish with bourbon soaked cherry

In a glass mixing container with ice stir ingredients for 30 seconds and strain into martini glass and garnish with cherry.

Great day doing yard work and was able to capture some decent pics of Charlie.

I love Dog's blue ball fountain!!!!!!  I have a little fountain out on my patio as well.

I have to report that after almost 2.5 years of pandemic life in which my hubs did not ever test positive...guess what?  Yep, he went back to San Antonio for work for one week and Bingo!  He gets there on a Sunday, sees his clients on Monday and by Friday he was pretty sick! So he returned home to Arkansa early on Saturday so as not to infect his family he was staying with and on Sunday he tested positive at Walgreen's!  We were prepared before he arrived home on Saturday...I had made the Hillbilly House ready (we have a second home across the road we use for guests) so he went directly there so we are in quarantine for at least 5 days.  Since then his brother who lives with his folks has gotten sick and we now think his 80 yr old Mom is too!  Eiyiyiyi!  Today he feels pretty good, taste is off a little but much better so he's moving home on Friday.  I guess it's the Omicron version.  BTW, we are vxd up completely.  O well, guess it's just the resident flu now.

At first I was worried sick about him, remembering my brother who died January 2021 from Covid lung pulmonary embolism, but I just came to the conclusion that they're not reporting much on deaths from this version any more so I quit worrying.  Moving on.  I feel fine and he's on the mend.

Not allergies?

Here also!!

It was $4.74 here last week.  I haven't passed a gas station this week yet.  Kind of scary to find out!

Gas dropped a couple of cents.  I paid $4.78 less 30 cents per gallon with food store points.   Paid $88 to fill my car and 2 gas cans for mower and pressure washer.   Ugghhh!!

Last week gas was around $4.85 a gal.

Wow!  We are at page 2400, love this thread😍

When I was in my teens I had a cousin living in Oahu.Every summer he invited a teenage relative to spend two weeks at his home.I was really excited when it was going to be my turn but for some unknown reason my cousin and his wife moved to NJ in the winter. No slight to NJ.

I gave up on trying to keep up with this thread while I was on my five cruises (especially since three of those five weeks were on Explorer with its awful internet).... did I miss anything important from April 23rd until now, or just more of the same good chit-chat and photos as ever?

I still feel about the same, with just cold symptoms.  After two negative tests the last couple days, I got one of these this morning.

I have been staying away from everyone, because even if it was a cold, I didn’t want to pass it on.  I guess I will just miss out on a few fun things for a few days.

I just hope I wasn’t contagious when my son flew to Europe Friday morning.  I would hate for him to have to deal with it while there.

Thanks for asking, Dani.

Sorry to hear this.   I hope you feel better soon and that noone else in your family gets it.    Drink lots of fluids😍

So much to see in the Big Island.   Did you drive the Road to Hilo?  That's a nerve-wracking drive.  LOL.  But beautiful with all the waterfalls.

I don't remember the actual road but I do know we saw a lot of waterfalls.

I love waterfalls and try to see as many as I can when we go places.  When we went to Gatlinburg we took the path to Grotto Falls and it was beautiful.  I hope to go back to both places and see more of them.

Oh

News flash

CBS

Gas today in Ohio $4.49 where we live

Gas overnight to increase by 40 cents

Wonder what the “ reason” is?

😔

It was $4.45 here today.  I would comment on the reason but don't want to go to time out.  LOL

@Sea Dog Greg, I think I remember you saying the Grandkids will love the Alaska pics. The other day I showed Caden.  As I started showing the pics he would say, Gpa, that's a blue ribbon.  Several pics, Gpa blue ribbon.   Last year he entered pics in the fair and won some blue ribbons. Then he saw one and said Oooooh Gpa, PURPLE.  I said, what's purple? Very rare Gpa, very rare.  The next day he was out taking pics so he could enter some in this year's fair.

Great story John. Sounds like you have a future professional photographer.

We always had parakeets when I was a kid.  They were fun!

I had a parakeet as a boy. His name was "Perky." He was blue and white and I would let him out of his cage in my room and he would fly around and land on my shoulder and nibble on my ear. Fun times.

My daughter heads overseas soon.  Last night she gave me a very early birthday present (no birthday wishes please my bday is not for 2 months).  She gave me two photo books with photos from our mother &daughter trips to  Uluru & then to Kakadu .  Very thoughtful and quite a few of the photos I hadn’t seen before.  We haven’t done photo books in our family before so it was special.

I then dragged out my old photo albums to show the “kids” what my friend and  I did in Hawaii when I was their age.  My daughter was delighted as she wants to recreate a couple of the same photos of her in the same location  and them do a side by side post.

They are going to Waikiki on Oahu @sea2shiningsea

Lenny- I am so glad for you that you have mobility with your new walker !

I hope you have many days of enjoying walks in your neighborhood.

You are right about staying in today because it was so warm outside. I drove my hubby’s car to an appointment this afternoon and when I started the car ,the temperature gauge said 98 degrees !

It is cooling off tomorrow,so maybe you can go out and about .

I watched the first two episodes yesterday.  Good series but wish it was better lit. I find a lot of programmes these days seem to be really dark

I don't think there can ever be a boring pic of Hawaii.

When I was in my early twenties I had a holiday romance in Hawaii. He lived there.  We wrote (no smart phones then) for a while but long distance romances don't really work

Our prices are also hit because oil is priced in dollars worldwide and our currency has dropped against the dollar. Also though the UK get hardly any fuel from Russia, a lot of Europe does and they are now looking for new suppliers pushing the price up again

Supply and demand I guess
