We board Anthem on Sunday.   Hoping for some great weather.   Chris and Donna are really excited that we got them an OVB with large balcony.  Last year on their 1st cruise we got them an OV since they were nervous.

I was in shock to come home from work to see Eric is almost finished his packing.   He usually waits until the last minute.  I'll pack Saturday.

Wishing you an amazing cruise Debbie.

Graham.

For those of you who have been following my DNA saga, the results are in!

(For those who haven't been following along, the TL;DR version is: I was placed for adoption at birth, found my birthmother in the 90s, and recently took an Ancestry .com DNA test to search for my birthfather.  Tracked down (deceased) grandparents, found a (possible) half-brother, did a sibling test that was "inconclusive", and just did a DNA test with the other possible father, Bill, one of three brothers born to the grandparents.)

Drumroll.....

maury-povich-you-are-the-father.gif.4adc089842d192e4cd56263a443c5bfa.gif

So, R is my cousin instead of my half-brother.  He tried calling Bill, but got his voicemail.  (The ONE time he doesn't answer his phone, are you kidding me??? LOL)

I'm at peace now.  This was the best possible outcome.  Bill is still living, and is ready, willing, and able to accept me as his daughter.  And after over half a century of not knowing, I have a biological father.

I'm pleased for you.

Graham.

Thanks for all of the Happy Birthday wishes 😊

Looks like RC wanted to make it a special day for me too.  Today they sent out a notice that they are dropping the pre-cruise testing for the Hawaii to Vancouver cruise in May!

Happy Birthday John, hope you had a great day

It is Girl Scout cookie season too! I just placed my order for Thin Mints, Do Si Dos and Trefoils. ☺️

We are well stocked on girl scout cookies.   It was cute.  One our techs at work wasn't sure about bringing in flyer for his Daughter selling cookies.  The minute he hung the flyer up in our kitchen area he was flooded with orders, including us.  Eric put several boxes in our freezer.

We both love peanut butter sandwiches.

I would have like to try the new raspberry cookie, but they are all sold out in my area.

Thank you, Rachel, for the well wishes.

Regarding US/Canada based TAs -- not only me, but also my cousin, who lives in Germany, has used them without any problems.

She has checked their consumer protection laws, and decided that the risk of Celebrity/RC going belly up is minimal now, and the advantages of booking oversea are big.

It all "goes down" to "risk management".

The "quickest" I found is almost 23 hours....

Well thanks for that. I will have a look into it.  Our first cruise in a few years is already booked though ad DH really wants to do a few more land trips.  Now I am retired I have the time.

I miss GS cookies.  In Cincinnati, it seemed like every Walmart, Target, Lowes, Home Depot, Kohls, grocery store...you name it...has a table with GS cookies out front.  And we'd have 2 or 3 Girl Scouts from our neighborhood (at least I think...could have been "bussed in") knock on our door.  I could easily get my fill.  I don't recall seeing ANY Girl Scout cookie tables here in Florida.  The website says that the nearest troop is Troop5372, 135 miles away.  Maybe I'll take a drive to one of the Jacksonville suburbs in search of cookies.  Love me some Tagalongs (Peanut Butter Patties).

I don't know why GS cookies are so good but they are.

I don't recall if I wished you happy sails on your upcoming cruise.  Hope it's amazing.

Eric isn't too excited, is he?!! 🤔

I'm sure Chris and Donna will make good use of their balcony..nothing like sitting out there with their morning coffee.

Have the best time, Debbie!!!!!🛳️🛳️🛳️

I totally messed up my lab work appointment for yesterday.  I knew the correct date, BUT I mistakenly  thought March 23rd was a week after I returned from our Bella cruise, not 4 days later.  It's like I totally wiped out the week of the cruise and came home on March 12.  Appointment changed for today.  Luckily I won't be weighed until my dr appointment next week.  😉

Maryann, so sorry you were "deflowered" by Covid too.  We were able to get meds prescriebed via telehealth visit with our doctor.  Maybe you could also?  Hopefully Jim, Carol and her Andy remain unscathed.

@Momof3gurlz, my knee is doing pretty well, thanks.  The worst part about Covid has been losing my sense of taste and smell.

Thank you, Joy.

How soon did you start to lose the sense of taste and smell?  I hope you get it back quickly.

She sells them as cut flowers but she pulls the whole flower and cuts at the bulb for long stems.  She will plant fresh bulbs for next year.

Here is a display of what she sells.
