Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

Haven’t sold the old house yet.  Not worried…it will eventually.  Having the estate sale and successfully getting the entire contents sold was my biggest hurdle.  Love the new place!  Have been busy planting shrubs in the yard.  We make a great team…I decide what I want, DH disagrees with me, I persist, I buy the plants, he plants them.  😜  Have met several nice neighbors but just first names and small talk outside.  Haven’t made any friends yet.  May have to join some clubs…. At the moment enjoying doing basically nothing…(well, there’s my full time cat valet position…). Thanks for asking.

One of the main reasons I've booked this particular flat in Venice was his proximity to the water bus [Alilaguna Blu] from Marco Polo... What I couldn't know and I know now, is that there are 4 (four) stops named Fte Nuove... Of course, our "bus" stopped at A, which necessitated climbing many stairs and then descending them, after all the running around we've done the flying out day...

On our previous stay in Venice, pre-cruise, I've got an excellent recommendation on Italy's Ports of Call about a hotel [Fontana], who's main "asset" was "no bridges and no stairs to cross from Alilaguna Blu stop" 😁

I've booked this hotel, and, indeed, it was straight on a mere 4 mins from the stop. It was ideally situated for arriving from the airport, and the day of the cruise (July 2014), to board it to "Crociere".

Wishing you an enjoyable stay at Disney with much higher temperatures, and an amazing cruise 🌷

@Momof3gurlz Deb & Andy, belated best wishes for your 35th anniversary 💐

Wonderful pictures!

I wish I had taken a picture of the UPS guy in his uniform of brown shirt and shorts.
His gondola was piled high with packages to be delivered.
And the two businessmen in suits, carrying briefcases, standing up in a gondola, crossing the Grand Canal.
Those two sights reminded me that Venice is not just beautiful scenes, it’s a real city.

@dani negreanu Love the pic! I wish we could have spent more time in Venice on our honeymoon cruise that left there. It was our first cruise so we flew in the day of (never do that again) and went straight from airport to ship. We had an excursion on our return to a glass factory ( never doing that again) and then straight to airport. I need to visit again and stay your pics convinced me.

Great. We sail Sunday. We like getting a paper Compass. I guess that’s out!

On our 2/6 Adventure cruise we requested a daily paper Compass and received one every night.  All you have to do is ask.

Have a wonderful cruise.

Outstanding pictures, seems you really need to know all the in and outs when visiting that city. Seems like a total land vacation with tour guide may be the best way to go for first timers. Something like Tauck Tours or a company like that.

They encourage you to scan a QR code or use the App.

I told our cabin steward I like a paper compass rather than scanning and he got me a paper daily compass every day on Oasis 2 weeks ago.

Graham.

We have asked for the paper compass on every cruise we took last year and had no problems in receiving them every evening.    Hopefully we can continue to ask and receive.   I use the app for somethings but prefer the print out so much better.   I like to highlight the things I want to do or check out.

Seems like we can't experience common cold symptoms without the fear of covid.

All day my nose is running something fierce, slight sore throat, slight headache.  No fever.  These are the exact symptoms when I had covid.  Test so far is negative, but I do feel like crap.  Energy level is lower than usual.  I'll re-test tonight or tomorrow.  At least I have enough time to get over what it is I have before we leave for our Bella cruise.  Keeping fingers crossed Jack remains ok.

I never had hay fever/allergy symptoms but TX where I live is high on the list.  We've been having delightful weather and have been keeping windows open.  It's anyone's guess.

Debbie, hope Donna is feeling better as well as Mark's daughter in law.

My "cold" symptoms seem so insignificant.  @h20skibum Mark's daughter has been on my mind for a successful surgical outcome.

Hi Bonnie,    I hope you feel better soon and Fingers and Toes crossed that Jack remains healthy for the cruise.

Donna said she felt about the same today but was happy to get up and take a nice hot shower.   Chris is still blah and did the same as Donna - then made some hot tea with honey for both of them.        Thank you for asking🥰

Today we are preparing for a night of freezing rain. It snowed through out the day. Freezing rain starts tonight and supposedly goes through the evening.

Our local tire shop came out today and replaced our skid steer tires with new ones.  Our neighbour is going to buy the used ones.

Lucy says hello to everyone. She did not want to sit on my lap and fall asleep even with this weather.

She probably would have wanted some of our dinner. The photo display in the background is of Symphony Royal Promenade. CLR and Owen and just out of vision.
