Nice day on the Silver River today.  One shot is of one of the many natural springs that bubble out of the ground...and is actually 30 feet deep at that spot.  Turtles were cute as they were lining up on the "gangplank".

Likewise, I have no interest in it changing.  I was just commenting on how the lockdown is utterly finished for me, that is all.  I'm grateful for my freedom and my friends.

Congratulations.  Until you rejoin the airplane/cruise/ hotel world

Happy to report:

1) I got the Pfizer vaccine shot 1 today. I know, unbelievable, finally occurred for me in New Jersey. It was under the auspices of a hospital .... they are using a community center and there must have been at least 150 people on line (in queue) wrapping around the building outside. I thought I might be there forever, but the line moved rapidly and there were at least 20 people doing the registration and 20 doing the shots. It took about 50 minutes total including the time in line and the 15 minutes waiting post-vaccine shot.

I don't want to jinx myself but barely nothing in terms of a reaction so far.  I expected more pain or something when getting the shot but it was barely anything.

2) My husband and I went out to dinner. My birthday was yesterday.

3) I took these photos on the way back to our house after dinner.

Local reservoir..... 3 shots:

Happy for you.

"Friends of Dani"? I don't mind if the current name of Dani's thread continues as is.  Woodstock was an iconic once in a lifetime event. I can't compare the two but I do get your point.  Peace ✌️

No, you don't say. 🙄 I still like my simple comparison.

Since I didn’t race back to Pennsylvania last night to get that free beer, we had a more leisurely pace today.  Whenever we drive to and from the south, we always cross the New River Gorge Bridge.  Never bothered to stop there until today.

We took the wood stairs down to the overlook.

Once a year, in October, they close the bridge for a day and have a festival on the bridge. Many from across the country come in to do BASE jumps from the bridge or to rappel from it.

Found one of these for a lunch stop

So, about a year ago, I declared you the best poster ever.  How did I not notice you the 3-4 prior years?

That was kind of you but I think I'm far from it. I'm just a libertarian with sarcastic nature that doesn't take very much too seriously anymore. Kind of a poor man's John Galt.

That being said, I joined CC in 2016 after booking a cruise on MSC for 2017 but never posted a thing.  I was just a lurker that used the account for research purposes.   It wasn't until sometime in 2018 prior to Liberty of the Seas cruise that I began posting. I think I got wrapped up in a MDR dress thread or maybe a tipping thread... I can't remember which and I've been hopelessly addicted ever since.  I don't use social media at all.  No Facebook, twitter, snapchat or whatever, though I do have an instagram account but I don't post on it and it is only to view pics that others send me links to.  Cruise critic is my only real social media vice.

By definition... John Galt... would be a peak achievement.  I approve of your enlightenment.  Only a few oldies will even understand any of that, and of those that do, most will hate both of us.

Still the best poster ever, and Canadian... who would’ve thunk that?😇

I and my views are anathema to most of my compatriots.  California isn't exactly hospitable to my way of thinking but making my home where I do (Rural areas of CA16), I find many sympathetic spirits.

I've gotten in trouble back home in the last year talking health care and making comparisons between models north and south of the 49th parallel.  You should see the looks I got when I talked about education. I've stopped, I realize that short of Armageddon, most peoples views are firmly entrenched and few are going to change.

I think you are probably quite happy and fit in very well in central California. :classic_biggrin::classic_tongue::classic_biggrin:

Nice photos too.

Good Morning

My outlet for social media is here.

For years I creeped on my DH's social section FB.

And finally opened an account.

I do not have a ton of friends, post mostly about cats or repost anothers post.

I seem to get on the naughty list more there than here.

The powers that be their seem to delete my posts saying their not conferrable.

I mean, really.  They probably have less an edukasion then me.  (🙄)

Besides over the last few months CC members seem to be less confrontational.

Glad we are more friendly......................well most of us.

Off for the morning walk.

Stay healthy

I have accounts for Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, FB, and several more like Periscope that came and went.  I follow a few accounts on Instagram and Twitter (mostly my daughters), and used to occasionally post a travel photo (remember travel??) on Instagram.  FB I avoid like the plague.  Too many cyber issues in the past.  Other than YouTube, I spend my online time here.

I enjoyed reading that book in college but don't remember much of it.  Wonder what I'd think if I read it today?

That might be dependent on which threads you visit or, maybe, it is because there are no discussions right now about really important things like smoking, dress code, and kids with diapers on in the pools.

It is only 37°F here cold, cloudy and windy.

I went to the bank this morning then we got McDonald's toasted muffins, cheesy bacon flatbreads hot chocolate and coffee and drove to the beach carpark and looked at the high waves while eating our McDonald's breakfasts.

We had a short walk then drove home.

The Moderna vaccine is now available in the UK from this morning.

It is almost 2pm and I am eating my Penne Pasta lunch and watching Judge Judy on TV.

Cruise Critic and TripAdvisor are the only social media forums I use.

I use TripAdvisor a lot for research, but I've never rated or posted anything there.  I should probably rate things there so that I'm contributing back.

I have accounts on FB (never use, except to keep tabs on Royal Caribbean and a periscope group). I did a few periscope broadcasts from cruises, and had some followers, but now periscope is gone.  I have a Twitter account, but only follow a select few there and have only periscope videos that automatically posted there.

I have a Fitbit account, and have a close group that I chat with daily (me and 9 beautiful, kind ladies - What’s wrong with me 😂😂). My Instagram account is pretty limited to those I let in, and has photos like some of those I recently posted that I share with my Fitbit friends.

This thread is great, because it has stayed civil.

As for my day, finished detailing one car already.  Now, off to pick up groceries after returning from our trip.  Then to do some research to hopefully plan another getaway.
