If you try to book cruises, RCL took out already all bookings up until Mid September. Hence we will probably get a anouncement in the next days that all cruises in North America and Europe will be cancelled until Mid September and in one more month probably that all cruises are cancelled in Europe for the remaining season and the US until at least mid or end of october and so on.

Yep. After final payment.

Sadly this is likely true.  The announcements are made after final payment dates are past.  Cash is king right now and every druise line is starved for it.  Whatever it takes for survival at this point.  Looking forward to the day we are all at a sailaway party and laughing at this!

I fear a sail away party to the beaches of Alang, India

Yes, and they´ve added this to their Cruise Health and Travel Alerts site:

"CLIA has announced the voluntarily suspension of U.S. cruise operations until September 15. We will share more details about this announcement with our guests early next week."

All cruises (except for China) til Mid September are not bookable anymore since early last week (prior to the CLIA announcement). Same for Celebrity.

So expect an announcement on Monday or Tuesday.

I'd love your take on what could happen with UK ports in summer 2021... and tourism/travel in the UK as well.

Not little britain, but here's some info on UK ports

https://www.britishports.org.uk/Coronavirus

As to tourism, hotels, B&B, self catering accommodation etc is opening on 4 July along with restaurants, pubs, etc. No Cinemas or theatres yet. The UK government is in the middle of talks to open travel corridors to other countries, mainly European holiday destinations, and they should be finalised in the next week or so. In these corridors there is no quarenteen necessary

According to the BBC this morning, 28 June,  the deal is complete for "air bridges" between the UK and several EU countries. Announcement is expected tomorrow and an effective date of 6 July.

Sweden and UK, would make sense, they both share high numbers. But letting people from the UK travel to Spain for instance with their numbers wouldn't make sense at this stage.

I know it's the weekend but our figures for people passing in the whole of UK is 36 today, the figures have been consistently downward. But I'm happy to stay local in UK this summer, hope to make it home to Cornwall maybe in September

The UK government,  with all it's usual efficiency,  has delayed the announcement about air bridges.  why am I not surprised.

Is it not being announced tomorrow?

Wonder if there is some agreement still to be reached with full listing, perhaps Scotland not yet convinced good to go?

was supposed to be announced yesterday,  then this morning,  still waiting.  As far as I know Scotland has no say in airbridge negotiations

The EU has banned US citizens indefinitely from entering the EU - until the 7 - day average is below 6000 cases a day for ALL of the continental US!

Any mention of preventing EU citizens from coming this way, or having to quarantine upon return?

I was so jealous Saturday. Sent a birthday message to a friend who is currently living in Finland. She was on a cruise then ported in Latvia and looking forward to the grand buffet that evening.

Thanks. We must not be watching the same news otherwise I wouldn’t have asked the meaning. 😇
