We book our repeat prescriptions online now, and I recently requested online access to my patient records, and the data is all there, I have not studied it in detail yet, so no idea if I can just access a vaccination list, or maybe even just the Covid record, but it is there on the date administered

I book my repeat prescriptions online too and there is a list of my childhood vaccinations but not covid. My GP seemed to imply something would be worked out using a national app rather than information from a GP(I had been hoping to be able to print something off)

My latest worry is that if verifying your vaccinations is via GP letter and your GP refuses for whatever reason you are up the creek without the proverbial. I don't think it is likely that an electronic version will be available by July/August 😟

I'm sorry but I missed the bit where you said ' and my solution is '

Mine is now showing on my App with my prescriptions...it took a little while to appear. There's no point taking a screenshot as there is no name on that page so it could be anyones?

Dave, if you ask your surgery to give you a summary print out of your medical records they are required to furnish you with one. It will come out on plain paper and the surgery can just put their stamp on it - that's what I'm doing at my surgery anyway. This print out will show your imms and vaccs and the relevant dates. I'm sure that by the time you sail something digital will be in place but this could be a fall-back Plan B. Jane.x

Well you booked a cruise for August, but don't think an electronic version of a vaccination record will be available, so I thought you may have a plan B.🤔

Likewise for me when I viewed within PatientAccess on my iPad no name shows but when I pressed ‘print’ then my name, nhs number etc appeared along with my COVID vaccination details. I was able to save it as a PDF.

Our doctor's have decided to upgrade their online system (in Dec) and have messed up everyones access. Hopefully P&O will accept a card

Childhood vaccinations is the only one I can access too. No record of covid, but those we had when begining to travel to SE Asia in 1985 are there.

I find it odd that the crew are not going to be vaccinated.  So they are tested for 2 weeks and then they go on board.  There is nothing to say that us vaccinated people cannot carry it on board after an excursion or even Southampton, so then we could give it to the crew

I'm sure Carnival would prefer them to be vaccinated but short of bribing a government to let them jump ahead of the queue, I'm not sure what they could do?

I think I read that all crew would quarantine and then be tested weekly onboard. I don't think there's much more they can do really.

I imagine they will be vaccinated as soon as possible but not as part of the UK vaccination rollout. Yes, some may catch covid from the passengers.

In an ideal world they should be vaccinated but we don’t live in an ideal world and we can only hope everyone will be safe and we all do our best to make sure that it  happens

I don't think P&O or Cunard are any line/cruise line grouping really has any handle on how to get the vaccination of crew done at least in the short term. With the exception and it's pride of America with an all American crew. They will be vaccinated but in the short term they will probably be the only ones who will. It is all well and good cruise lines making grandiose statements about vaccination of staff and protection of staff but they are now finding it very tough to figure out how to stand behind those statements.

I hope P&O realise that the proof of vaccination requirements are required well before Britannia starts sailing in July. As for an App, from what was said yesterday it looks like the 'App' won't appear until after all adults have had their second dose, maybe sometime in October.

We are going to have to learn to live with this virus Jean, and it is going to take quite some time for everyone worldwide to be vaccinated. In the interim quarantine and regular testing of anyone not vaccinated is the only way to operate.

I think the issue for me are what are the cruise lines protocol when/if an unvaccinated crew member tests positive. Presumably crew member and all those that work or socialise with him will then need to quarantine and everyone keeps fingers crossed that their cruise journey won’t be altered as a result....

But how can they be vaccinated if they come from poor countries who either cannot afford vaccines or have not been given enough to vaccinate all their people. It is not the responsibility of UK government to give foreign nationals vaccines just so privileged UK people can go on a cruise when there asre so many of their own nationals not yet been vaccinated.

Couldn't agree more.  Just don't see passengers having to be vaccinated and the crew not.  It doesn't make sense.

It doesnt but if cruise lines had to wait for all their staff and crew be vaccinated in their own countries there would be no cruises well into 2022 if possibly longer and by then they will all have gone to the wall.

Jean, keeping repeating this comment is not going to change the facts, most cruise ship Hotel staff are young and it will be ages before they qualify for vaccination in their own country, and there would be a massive outcry from many quarters if the cruise lines were allowed access to UK stocks to vaccinate the crew.

So until they are vaccinated the cruise lines will have to rely on quarantine and regular testing to keep their staff virus free.

And no different to going to a hotel in the UK,  where the majority of the young staff will not have been vaccinated.

Surely, if you have had two injections,  you can be fairly confident that you will not contract CV19.

Given how many people are booking hotel holidays in the UK this summer, I'm not sure why there is such an issue with unvaccinated staff on a ship.

for some of us  2 doses of the vaccine and even the 3rd booster in the summer is unlikely to give us much, if any, protection.  However, most of us in that position know this (Any one who has had a leukemia in the past or some other blood cancers along with anyone who has had a transplant are in this situation) Initial studies show 13% efficacy dropping over time to 8% Some other autoimmune disorders  including T1D & Lupus) are also now looking like they don't respond to the vaccines as well studies showing the 35-65% efficacy depending on age and condition, all be it better than the first groups I mentioned). We are waiting the next study "Octave" for more info.  And there is work ongoing on an antibody vaccine which if it works will be a 6 monthly booster for people in my position. But testing will not be complete until end of 21 early 22.

The only solution is we will have to adapt out behaviour accordingly, My consultants have still got me in shielding until they say otherwise, hopefully by end of May.  We just bought a brand new caravan (as not allowed near any mold risk so couldn't risk a 2nd hand one) and are now looking at cruises again in 2023. The same risk analysis will apply to hotels and indoor dining one I am freed from shielding.

I am not concerned about catching the virus after I have had 2 vaccinations.  Sorry if that is what I implied.  Wasn't meant that way.   I was merely thinking about half the crew going down with it and that would ruin the cruise.  Families with children won't be able to cruise on anything this year if children can't be vaccinated either.
