Looks like all June sailings are cancelled

If everything is back to normal in 2023 people will be so anxious to cruise that the cruise lines can make up monetarily what they are losing now.

Respectfully disagree.  The cruise lines were sailing at load factors of almost 100% pre-COVID.  For over a year, they have been burning through cash and acquiring more and more debt.  To become profitable again, they would need to raise prices substantially, not 10% but perhaps 300%.  At some point, people will simply walk away and spend their vacation dollars in another way.

Agree. My Siblings, Kids and Grand Daughter been wearing Masks for yr, to Work, School, Disney World. They'd board ship tomorrow no issue! Daughter and her Family planning Cruise Mask and All this Summer out of Caribbean, along with thousands others

Anything new?
We are booked on July 1st, 9 nights, out of Baltimore.  We got our cabin through casino comp, so don't want to really change that date unless we have to.  Plus it is our 20th wedding anniversary that week!

Until you try cruising with all the protocols.....how are you going to know what is going to happen....GIVE IT A TRY!! you can always stop. there is always going to be covid now just like the flu. what will change in the future to make cruising 100% safe?

Well, maybe I do know you but I was not referring to you specifically.I was referring to cruisers in general.

The word NOBODY is highly selective, not a general term.  You DID mean you don't know me, didn't you?  Cuz you don't.

In this house we won’t pay to cruise with a mask on.  We use them daily with no issues and have had out first shots.  We are not travelling 1 day each way by plane too have to wear mask on board, when we can stay at home or go the cottage.

I worked wearing a mask for 29 years.

After all that time you would think if I had to wear a mask all the time, work and home, out places and specifically cruising I would not mind.     NOPE.  (Changed my  view on this recently).

I do not want to vacation wearing one at sea.

Let me give you an analogy that is my rationale.

The first thing I do when I get in the house after a long day at work (lol everyday) (retired now) is

Get rid of the bra.

You would think after all these years wearing a bra, it would not phase me when I am home.

Oh contrary.

That baby is ripped off, and freedom ensues.

Likewise, wearing a mask other than work, well, for local shopping and outings, yea, but not to vacation.

Yea I have to wear the bra (damn) but I have to wear the bra.

I have and will vacation (One if by land), but, something about cruising says I wish for resolution of the pandemic and no masks.  (dreamin).

Who knows to get to sea, might change the mind again.

Stay healthy

We are booked on Adventure this summer and we are just fine wearing a mask if needed and social distance.

It’s amazing how many people on here post on every thread about cruising isn’t happening or they wouldn’t go on a cruise right now.

Great, why are you wasting your time and everyone’s else’s time on here? Maybe get off of the forum and find something better to do till you are ready to cruise again....

There is nothing else that I can do.Perhaps not every one on CC shares your opinion.I am just offering my opinion. If everyone had the same point of view there would be no reason to have a discussion.

I expect the cruise lines to raise prices dramatically just like athletic teams have and will continue to do so as well as every other form of entertainment.People are starved for cruising .They will pay .Just my opinion, not necessarily fact.

I'm booked for July 16 from NJ! Hope it's not cancelled and crossing my toes too!

We are booked for July 9th out of Bayonne NJ...highly doubtful it will take place.  Will put in for full refund on my 3 reserved cabins for this cruise as soon as the cancellation is announced.

Just got back from Vegas yesterday, and last month went to Florida for 2 weeks to see Spring Training games and enjoy the warm weather and beaches.  No more of my money to the cruise lines until the CDC stops playing games with the cruise lines.   ( I have 2 other cruises booked..one in September, and next year doing New Zealand out of Sydney Australia....I also have doubts about those cruises taking place)

Yes, we are July 1st for 9 days from Baltimore.  Praying it goes ahead, if not would be happy to switch to shorter one from NJ (we actually live in NJ).  So hoping we get some news soon.

sorry I don't see any chance of your cruise sailing only 10 weeks from now.

Even if cruising restarts in July it is still going to be a gradual start.  Not all ships. Not all ports.  New itineraries perhaps. There may be blanket cancellations of previously scheduled cruises and new cruises offered for sale. Bound to be be lots of changes for several months at the start.  Each of the cruise lines has said so at various points. People need to be prepared.

I have made that prediction since March 2020.Nobody will really want to cruise wearing a mask and socially distant no matter what they say on these boards.

When you made that prediction last year I thought you were just exaggerating. Now it's beginning to look like reality given the lawsuits and cruise lines sailing from other countries.

I don't want to wear a mask but I could live with social distancing forever.

You can cross your eyes, arms, legs, lungs, kidneys and anything else you have two of but there is no sign that this ship is sailing.

I went to 2 stores this morning. It was the first time I did so since before the Pandemic. One was Trader Joe’s and everyone social distanced.I also went to a greeting card store and nobody was social distancing .

Don you think that people would social distance on a cruise ship ? I think not.

You can have a wonderful anniversary celebration many other places other than a cruise ship.A woman who is a regular on CC and her husband celebrate their anniversaries in Atlantic City.
