"Freedom of speech", LOL.

Bill, I did explain to you.  I answered a post who asked if drs actually diagnosed sinus infections.  I said yes they do and this is how.  So now I throw the ball in your court.  What was wrong with that?  Again, absolutely no mention of any forbidden topics.

This i a point I have been remiss in bringing up.

Do you recall your room service diet. I do from being quarantined with Noro. All the jello and broth I could want. Clear liquid diet. No cold lobster. Good times. 😉

And there were hundreds of us in the same boat, so to speak.

I could have anything I wanted but I couldn't eat anything.  I remember just lying on bed with a fever and crawling to bathroom.  I had a reaction to the Theraflu medication so I couldn't take it.  It was the 2018 November jewel TA.  Where the itinerary was changed completely.  I was in quarantine 3 sea days.  Fever broke on the 4th sea day.  I know I lost about 7 lbs on that crossing which I think was 15 days.  They kept the free room service for me the entire time.  The medical team, officers, room attendents, guest services were outstanding.  I gave my room attendant $300 in cash on top of his tip just because this poor man had to clean my room and it wasn't pretty.  They offered to move us to a balcony from an Oceanview but I was so sick I kept saying I can't move.  I was never in an emergency situation where they had to monitor me in the medical center.  They actually came to the room 2x as I couldn't walk well.  Just dizzy, fever, and nauseous.

Edit:. Big lesson learned.  Get flu shot prior to cruise!  Don't stall like I stupidly did.

Anyone notice that when cases fluctuate on land, they fluctuate onboard, regardless of protocols?  It's the nature of the virus.

Yes, it’s to be expected. The newer Omicron has raised cases on land, but not as much in the hospitals so far. That last comment is from our infectious diseases team on Friday, which monitors daily because we are a medical provider company.

So last night I volunteered to spend the night in “the red zone” so have dinner with my wife and to ride it out with her. The guilt of breathing fresh air was getting to me. I was escorted to deck 2 to medical, For what reason, I have no idea. After waiting for a half hour I got very antsy and caused a little havoc by saying why am I here? I’m not sick!  They almost immediately “evacuated” me to my wife’s room. Spent the night, got 150 for dinner, was good. Ordered room service this morning, coffee, eggs, toast.  They brought OJ, milk, cereal and pastries! These are the “soup containers” I was referring to. Ridiculous. 3476C1AB-3C47-486E-AC4B-5BCC9D9C704C.thumb.jpeg.d6c1138a968d31098de68179394877e0.jpeg

Containers, just as I had thought @John&LaLa and look he even got into the red zone to see his wife , same as I would have insisted on when I brought her, her hot tea kettle. He even spent the night in her room too.

I don’t understand the “soup container” obsession.  Aren’t there empty cups in front of the milk carton?  This morning the soup container is a “small disposable coffee pot”😉.  Pour coffee into cup.  Prepare to taste.  Drink.  Repeat if desired (that’s why a larger container was provided)

No, those were given to her for her tea. She just happened to have them…

My wife and I are in the last days/stages of Covid recovery.  I said to her, I could not imagine how it would feel to be on a ship with how we feel here at home. I think the fresh air could be a big benefit that she is missing.

As for food, our appetites has been off.  I’m sure if a steak was placed in front of me I’d try it, but it is definitely not what I’m craving.

I hope your wife feels as good as possible, and that you remain negative for your trip home.

Hope you guys feel much better soon!

Your wife as well, OP. I got the flu on a long weekend away with hubby, and was so miserable that he drove me home, reclined all the way. Just wanted my home comforts. It is awful to be sick away from home.

Thanks for heads up. But honestly don't see the difference between these and a Starbucks cup. Am I missing something?

No worries, but in order to get there he had to be checked in at Medical. Doesn't seem fast to me.

Still don't get the soup container issue

Sure, the two fresh cups just happen to be there right next to the coffee containers and milk and utensils.  Got it.🤣

I think the bottom line is - do you want to pay for a vacation where you can end up in a lesser value cabin, at the mercy of room service, with very little to do for days on end.  I know I don't so we will stick with driving vacations until all these protocols are gone.

There is definitely something to be said for this. We are booked on the Oasis in July and have been hoping that these protocols would be a bit looser by then. It feels like we are pretending that there aren't asymptomatic COVID carriers on every sailing.

Yes, he was allowed to go to her cabin but I doubt he was allowed to leave once there.   It's not liking visiting someone in the hospital and you can come go and go as you please.   It is nice that he went to be with her.   Hopefully she is feeling better for disembarkment and their drive home to NJ.

And they couldn't even get the order right.   I, too, would be upset they didn't send eggs and toast as ordered.   Is today disembarkment?   How is she feeling?

Good point. Kinda why I used the Hotel California lyric earlier.

Like others, I’d like to understand why the soup containers bother you.

When does your cruise end?

My 2 cents on the soup containers:

Coffee cups are tall and deep; soup containers are wide and shallow.

Coffee cups have a smaller diameter that fits the mouth better; soup containers have a wider diameter and may spill out the sides of your mouth.

Coffee cups can be easily held with one hand when drinking; soup containers will likely need both hands to hold it steady while drinking.

Coffee cups can be tilted at a steeper angle when drinking; soup containers will spill out the sides of the mouth if tilted too much.

Coffee cups may have better insulated sides, as they are intended to be held; soup containers will not be insulated because a soup spoon is expected to be used.

Coffee cups may have drinking lids; soup containers will have sealed lids.

That is a world class soup container analysis right there.
