I am not saying folks cannot smoke or vape just NOT INSIDE

There are lines granted the more expensive luxury lines that remain smoke/vaping free and I can & will move to them if this smoking/vaping pilot project becomes policy...

We sailed Regent out of Vancouver last fall. Their designated smoking area is a glass enclosed space on the pool deck with a double window that opens to the starboard side of the ship.  You can walk right past it and nary smell smoke.

What kind of company, in this day and age, relaxes its no smoking policy? I mean, who would even consider this?

It is very strange. Not even logical because vapers who booked won't have known known so the supposed impact won't be known from the eight weeks test.  The new Celebrity President is not inspiring confidence.

Apparently they want to attract the younger crowd and get rid of the old loyal passengers that made them what they are.

The older passengers no longer spend as much on stuff because they already bought it, or learned from experience that it is a waste of money.

The younger  crowd that may get the  $10 to $20 thousand loan forgiveness because they can’t afford to live because of those payments will now think they have some money to spend on cruises and Celebrity wants them because they are hopefully the future.   Good for one cruise until their money runs out.

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

But Vaping is safe

From Canadian Lung Association

  •  The maximum nicotine levels in e-cigarettes in Canada are 66mg/ml. That’s three times what is allowed in the European Union (20 mg/ml) leaving users over exposed to high amounts of nicotine, which may lead to lifelong dependence.  That's like tripling the size of a regular cigarette.

  • E-cigarette vapour contains a number of toxic chemicals. These same chemicals are found in lead paint, gasoline, embalming liquid, wildfire smoke, vehicle ex

I have also sent an email voicing my concerns.  I am wondering if voicing concern on their facebook page would be good?  They seem to respond there.

Can't hurt.

The second they start selling radioactive water or recreational barium enemas in the spa I’m canceling my cruises. I know some will call me soft but.

You need the premium drink package for that water.  Make sure you get the premium drink package.

I have also sent emails yesterday, but no response yet.

There is a thread on Facebook.

In the relatively short time frame vaping has been around (compared to cigarette smoking) there is already considerable evidence of damage to lungs and other organs from the unsavoury compounds found in e-cigarettes.

LOL just look around, so many companies committing suicide with their business model.  Everybody is trying to get new business at the expense of their loyal followers.  I also think there is someone "younger" convincing them that it is self contained.  Not sure how hard it would be for them (it wasn't for most of us) to do a little research as to it's safety

I’m not afraid of being replaced with a younger model.  They won’t find anyone as cynical and sarcastic as I am.

LOL that wasn't my point.  Many brands have run off their loyal customers with a "new" approach.  That has hit their sales.  I see this as somewhat the same, let's expand our market.... not realizing it's at the expense of some of their current customers.

I bet a many of the angry people here are former smokers, myself included.  Stopping is tough.  Vaping is simply rationalizing you can't quit - my lungs are going to be affected by the effects of your vapor.

Time to compose still another irritated, grumpy email to the executive office....big sigh.  This is getting old.

I completely agree with you goofysmom99.  I quite smoking 21 years ago and my daughter who used to visit me could not vape (she was a smoker who switched to vaping because she could not quit the nicotine addiction) in my house or around me.  I did not quite smoking to try to improve my health to inhale her second hand vape smoke.  (And yes, all the chemicals in vaping are not positive for my health.). So I also am sending an email to the Executive Office in opposition to this trial.

I emailed but so far no reply ... I am sure we have overwhelmed them with all our emails... thank you all you took the time to express your thoughts on Vaping in the Casino....

I have found that folks (in large numbers) voicing their opinions to Senior Leadership when they oppose something that Leadership is trying can bring change in Leadership's position.  I too am sending an email!

Well I have to buy “new” Coke on eBay.  It’s 40 years old but it’s still Coca Cola.  Win for me!

X isn’t doing this for a demographic, they are doing for gambling revenue. They believe that gambling, smoking/vaping (and drinking) go hand in hand   When smokers stand up from the table to go smoke they don’t come back quickly enough and X loses that revenue.
