Good morning.  Thanks for the Report.

Cool and windy with chance of rain for us.

An interesting collection of days.  Cancer awareness is important, I don't want to hug a bear unless it's a stuffed one, I'm sure Retinol is in some of my skincare products.

A very good quote.  Love, friendship and respect are the basis of a good marriage.

The meal sounds good, looking forward to seeing recipes.  I'm sure the drink and wine will be good too.

I haven't been to today's port.

Prayers for everyone on the Care List.  Cheers for all the celebrations.

Have a wonderful day, stay safe.

Good morning friends!  It's voting day in some places (thankfully not in my location) so please vote if possible.  Then those horrible political ads will stop!  Hurray!  The weather here is 46F with a high today of 79 with more sunshine.  Such beautiful fall weather.

Thank you Rich @richwmn for the Fleet Report and Daily.  Cancer awareness is a very important day.  We all want to find a way to cure cancer in all its forms.  The only bears I want to hug would be teddy bears.  Retinol is useful for skin care, acne, aging so another good thing to celebrate.  The quote has an interesting viewpoint.  The chicken thigh dish is probably tasty, not sure about the drink but no thanks to the pinot noir.  Thanks to Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope, and Ann @cat shepard for their great reports each day on the food and drinks.

Prayers for all on the care list but I think Vanessa @JazzyV should still be on it.  Hoping someone finds a reason why you are in such pain and can correct the issue!  For all in pain or recovering from surgery we hope all of you are better soon.  Prayers for those in Israel and Ukraine and all the innocent victims of war.  Extra prayers from me for DB, and friends Scott and Susan and Bob and Sandy.  🙏  Hoping everyone cruising and celebrating events are having a great time. 🎉 Safe travels for everyone!🚢  Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for keeping the lists updated and getting up early to post it.

My dear neighbors Paul and Brenda who have lived next door for nearly 3 years, have decided to move to a smaller home nearer their church.  They are very involved in the church and feel having this huge house sitting empty while they are on the road with their motorhome is a waste, so will be selling soon.  We are both very sad about it but it is what it is.😞

The port of the day is Marmaris, Turkey, a great destination on the Mediterranean sea.  We were there on our first Prinsendam cruise in 2014 and it was wonderful.  This was the port once before on April 5, 2022 and I will post the link for your convenience.  Then photos coming up later.

Hope you all have a great day!  Stay safe and well!

Good early morning to all and thanks for the daily and fleet reports.  I wish there was a cure for cancer, I think I will hug a bear virtually, and will pass on the retinol day - though it may help some people.  True quote, I cook the meal frequently but not today (going to a dinner tonight), not sure about the drink, wine sounds good, and never been to Marmaris but have been to Istanbul.  Cheer for the first cargo ship going across the Atlantic and to the Musical Society!!

Received my MRI results before I got home.  It ran 1.5 pages!  Front and back, with "severe" mentioned several times.  Plus a 10mm cyst.  Hmmm.  Have to wait a week to see what the doc says.  Came home and started to take off the cork backing to my Mariner tiles.  What's interesting is the new ones are made in Portugal.  Someone gave me 3 older ones and they were made in England.  I have 14 of them and still need at least a couple more to complete a table top I want to make.  But the design is still up in the air.

Sore from the massage and am thinking about skipping the gym today.  Need to make that decision soon as it starts at 0530.  Subbing today, chiro after then going to a wine pairing dinner out.  I rarely eat out so this is a treat.

Thoughts for the world and cheers to those celebrating.  Have a great day everyone!

Good morning dailyites as we head towards Half Moon Cay.  Thank you for the Daily Report.

We had an excellent dinner in the lido last night.  I had the grilled trout and shrimp, both were perfect. Suzi had the peppercorn tenderloin and shrimp and said both were yummy.

Went to the casino and won, took my chips to the cashier and broke even for the cruise. My sister who plays slots cashed out with $70 winnings for the cruise.

Just a FYI - the internet service has been very good this cruise.

It was raining earlier this morning, however looks like it is clearing up now.

My sister wants to go to the island, so we will go, otherwise I'd stay onboard.

I will check in later. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

It was a beautiful day on Oct. 28, 2014 when the Prinsendam arrived in Marmaris, Turkey.  We had just been to Ashdod, Israel two days earlier and spent a long day touring Jerusalem so a nice day spent strolling through this port was just what we needed. Besides, we all wanted Wi-Fi!!   Here we are approaching the dock at a marina filled with sailboats.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVLrlTQujEyGAn5_LLIvyOhT?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1416774447

One of the first things we saw near the marina was this sign with Visa costs.  Interesting how much some places were charged.  I think it must be a reciprocal thing.  If you charge citizens a certain amount they will charge your citizens that same amount.  Nothing said about China or Russia there.

The town was very clean and we noticed in addition to sailboats there were lots of yachts to admire.  00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVKGmHaT9XDA2QYDH8WR4AxN?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1416774469

There was a small castle on a hill which we walked up to but no one wanted to pay an admission fee to go inside so we just took a quick glance in the doorway and left.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVLn_wzk7msQNnvP51NPV0KO?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1416774497

I have no idea why I am sitting here unless it was just a short rest.  The sign translates to read "Seafarers' Culture House". 00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVJfRZp3z9o8NrYhAxPKlUT9?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1416774505

We found out it was Race week there and I suppose that's why there were so many boats in the harbor.  Maybe it always looks that way.  Who knows?00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhG

As the Prinsendam left that afternoon, you can see from this photo the top of the castle we walked over to earlier.  00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVKnIvBQq1-_nHXpuev9l6-Z?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1416774542

Good afternoon.

It is 49°F and cloudy here.

Thank you for today's daily reports Rich.

Cancer awareness is so important.

My mam and Pauline's dad died of cancer as well as several uncles and we both have had basal cell skin cancer removed.

Lots of women will appreciate Retinol.

Today's quote is probably true but for us we are each others best friend.

Any food with chicken sounds good.

We have never been to the tourist resort of Marmaris Turkey but have cruised into Kusadasi Turkey several times.

I hope everyone is safe and well and you all have a great day.

Good morning. We had a wonderful last evening aboard. First with a fantastic last farewell send off by the pool when the crew came out and said goodbye followed by a fantastic last performance by the singers.
Enjoyed our last dinner in  the Restaurant  and a final good bye to our wonderful staff.

We then went to the Grand Salon to watch three male singers who did a tribute to Michael Buble. Great show.

It’s time to head up for coffee and breakfast. We disembark at 8:30 and if all goes well arrive at home at 3:30.

It has been a great cruising experience. Thanks for the Report and Post. Bruce

Good morning everyone.  Thanks for the daily update.  Cancer awareness is important and helps to save lives.  I’ll pass on hugging a bear and don’t know enough about retinol to want to celebrate it.  I’m sure the quote is true in many cases.  I don’t think chicken is on the menu this evening and the drink sounds like one you’d have to buy special ingredients for so a pass for me.  The wine sounds nice.  I haven’t beer to today’s port.  Prayers for all on our prayer list.  Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events today!

Thanks for our Tuesday Daily, Rich

& thanks to Debbie, Dixie, Vanessa & Ann

Too many people fall victim to cancer.  We need to not just be aware but support those afflicted and research if possible.  I will hug my ‘Jose’ bear any day 😉. Not sure why one particular vitamin has its own day?   (Retinol is basically vitamin A1).  Along the line of yesterday’s day.

IMG_1645.jpeg.0748dcdaec82d5a0b57997d8f3cf6842.jpeg

I like today’s quote.  Friendship and respect is key to a good marriage IMO.  Meal sounds good but I only have chicken breasts in the fridge. We’ve been to Turkey but not today’s port.

IMG_1127.jpeg.71ad9e943c86546a4d08e4866751f564.jpeg

It’s wet, wet, wet here “sigh” and cooler than forecast.  I hope it warms up at least.  Bit of a busy day with the vet visit today for Ivan’s shot and my appointment to discuss the web page for the bursary in Jose’s memory.  After that, anything else done is an achievement 😉

IMG_1132.jpeg.f7fc7db1162a2159a9157b0c324fc415.jpeg

Prayers for those on the Care list, those suffering losses, health issues, worries & those that need them 🙏.  Cheers to those celebrating and cruising 🥂.

Scott and Susan were with us that day but I didn't know if she wanted their photos posted so cropped them out.  Susan rang me yesterday and gave me some even better news about Scott.  They hope to release him Friday to go home and he can be driven to the adjoining town for outpatient physical therapy!  Susan will care for him but will try to get some home health care to come in some of the time to give her a break for shopping, errands, doctor appointments, etc.  She said he is able to talk again, not just whisper, and has no feeding tube so can eat normally.  He can also walk short distances with a walker!  That is a major improvement over a few weeks ago!

Her brother's wife is planning on waiting until January or February for a memorial service for Mark.  Susan said she would not leave Scott now to go to a service, but perhaps in a couple months he would be able fly with her to attend.

That is really good news for Scott and Susan.

Thank you for today’s FR & D, Rich! Another lovely morning and a bit warmer than yesterday at 57! Bindi is certainly enjoying her walks these days. So am I.

Vanessa, thank you for keeping our lists. Praying that your medical team can find relief for your pain.

Gym, Bindi walks, chores and an evening birthday celebration dinner at the beach.

2020 Block Nine Caiden’s vineyards Pinot Noir

All released vintages of this California Pinot Noir share the same very good - excellent ratings from consumers and critics, so pick up the one that you find, though 2022 might need a bit more time in the bottle. My local wine bar introduced me to this wine, and though not one of my two favorites, it is a very enjoyable wine.

If you can find the 2020 vintage, online prices start at $13.97. 2021 online prices start at $11.97.

Winemaker Notes

The 2020 Block Nine Pinot is beautifully long and rich in ripe cherry and berry flavors. The aromas exhibit generous bright fruit with a mix of strawberry, violets, plum, tea, and a hint of clove. Flavorful and silky in the mouth with good body, this wine is seductive showing wild cherries and a hint of sandalwood to complete its complex finish.

Our family started Block Nine in response to changes in the Pinot Noir market. Demand for moderately priced Pinot Noir has spiked over the last few years. Large, mass marketed brands brought most of the Pinot to the market leaving consumers with few choices of smaller production Pinot Noir from California.

This is our focus.

Quick check in with you all.
This move is a big undertaking but it’s marching along. Harder physically than just 3 yrs ago!

Grandkids got in late Sunday but we did everything we needed their help with yesterday. They worked hard and fast!  Left yesterday afternoon with our kayaks and a full load in the pickup of things the movers won’t take, some things we preferred not to have the movers take and a bunch of stuff they will pick through for themselves, the soon-to-be married other granddaughter, or to donate. Tgry took a load of furniture ti Goodwill here rather than the dump!  Great ti are-home stuff!  They helped with so much!  Wore me out but I slept 7 hrs last night!

Other house guests (niece and guy-friend) are leaving today. (She’s a retired merchant h marine cargo ship radio/electronics offer; he’s a sailing buddy of hers, both from tge Seattle/Tacoma/PNW region). They’ve been mostly in DC visiting the excellent museums there; niece spent a day just visiting and looking at family pictures, and one day helping me go though the pantry and other sorting. It’s been good, and the fridge and freezer are getting down to the bottoms!

Movers load in 1 week, packers the day before to pack up whatever is left, which is plenty of stuff!

This week we have eye doctor visits- was just my annual but she said she’d see DH also one last time before we leave. She knows the glaucoma specialist we found in NJ, she trained him!  That’s a prayer answered!  DH is getting more itchy from his eye drop meds and he’s had some higher than usual pressure readings but “hanging in” mostly stable.

I developed sciatica last week, first time ever, but I’m sure it’s mostly stress-related so with some stretches and some talking to my brain, and other relaxation techniques that helped, it’s calmed down. I had to walk the kids out to the boats and managed it pretty well. DH had to stay home yesterday for the plumber!  Of course yesterday was the “perfect” day to have a drain backup!  An annoyance but not a life-threat!

One person came to see the condo to see the views - she was  looking for her parents who are in FL to see places that maybe be worth it to them fly up to see fir themselves.  Condo was full of boxes but next week it’ll be empty!

Blessings go out every morning to you all, the Care list, thank you @JazzyV- hope you’re managing better!  And joy for all celebrating and cruising -so many lucky cruisers!!  Thanks for being here every day for each other. I won’t post often through this relocation but I am connected in spirit even if not online!  😇

Maureen

Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie.  Cancer awareness is definitely my favorite of the days, and I like the quote.  I have not been to Marmaris (and never cruised to Turkey) but will celebrate a great day in US musical history.

The meal sounds interesting.  My alternative is Chilled Roasted Peach Soup, Prime Rib Au Jus, and Raspberry Sundae as served on MS Prinsendam November 7, 2017:

A pleasant morning in Lorton and my incoming train is projected to arrive almost an hour ahead of schedule so things should go smoothly today.
