Rare Presto2 Posted June 24, 2023 #47026 Share Posted June 24, 2023 Well booked a land holiday and then cancelled a cruise all in one day. Booked Sorrento 2 weeks for our 30th Aug 24 and as PO would not let us move our Ventura cruise for May 24 to Azura 25 we gave up and just cancelled. When we moved it can't remember there being limits on how many times but hey ho. Looking forward to 3 holidays next year..1 cruise and 2 land. Retirement is looking good ... all we need to do is pay for them .......... eekkk

We have just arrived at our hotel in Jersey, brought my mum for a few days away. It is very hot at the moment, hope it cools down or we will be melting. We are staying at Hotel De France, seems a nice hotel, we might eat here tonight as we had an early start this morning and are a bit tired Michelle Have a lovely time Michelle away with your mum and enjoy the sun while you can . 2
Purdey16 Posted June 24, 2023 #47029 Share Posted June 24, 2023 It’s really been quiet on here for a few days now , I restrained myself from posting lots of holiday pictures and food porn 🥹 my bruises have almost gone and I’ve almost lost all the weight I put on in a week which was a lot 😱 , just catched up on all washing and ironing and now packing to go to fuerteventura to look after father in law for a while & dog while my sister in law comes home to see her grandchildren, it’s hot out there 31 so not to bad . Im a little bit worried that Wowzz has not been on the boards for quite a while now so I hope all is well with him and his family. Take care everyone and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

purplesea Posted June 24, 2023 #47034 Share Posted June 24, 2023 I didn't have any thing planned for today, just taking it easy as I still tired after my treatment last week, but my daughter suggested that I might like to go into Penzance with her for Mazey Day. As I am not allowed to drive at present we went in by train, and walked up to the top of the town where we positioned ourselves to watch one of the parades. My second daughter was leading her school in the parade and was surprised to see us. After the parade we met up and had something to eat and ended up in the local spoons before heading back on the train. I think I might have over done it, especially in the early afternoo heat, but we had a good day.

Rare twotravellersLondon Posted June 25, 2023 #47037 Share Posted June 25, 2023 A very good morning to all on a bright, sunny day with clear skies and temps due to reach 29˚C this afternoon. Off to the Duxford Air-Show where the forecast is for 30˚C by 3 0'clock this afternoon. The really good news for us today is that our 6 monthly energy bill is lower than it was this time last year! Our energy use is down by over 30%. Using our winter fuel allowance to replaceme three dodgy double-glazed units, fit new non-blow-back extractor fans in the kitchen and bathroom and to stop drafts from pipework entering through cavity walls has worked a treat! Our feelings.... "Whew!"
Rare P&O SUE Posted June 25, 2023 #47038 Share Posted June 25, 2023 Morning all, it’s set to be a scorcher today which is a little annoying for me as we have a wedding evening do to go to tonight and I will be wilting! Rain due later this week so mustn’t grumble 😀
kalos Posted June 25, 2023 #47039 Share Posted June 25, 2023 Morning ,hope everyone's ok. It's 21.c already here and a horrible nights sleep. I remembered what my Grandad told me, so I got near to the edge of the bed as possible and at some point in the night I dropped off .🙃 Hope you all have a great day !
Beckett Posted June 25, 2023 #47040 Share Posted June 25, 2023 Good Morning All @purplesea Lovely photos Pam. I expect you'll be feeling a tad tired today but what a lovely unexpected day out for you. Have a good Sunday. @yorkshirephil Hello Phil and welcome home. Thanks for the photos of your wonderful cruise. It looked totally awesome. Great pictures of you and Mrs YP too. It must be hard to be home after such an experience- hope you've got another one planned! It's already scorching down here. I took His Lordship out for a walk at 6am this morning and it was really cool and pleasant but now, at 8.30am, the humidity is rising and it's already sticky and heavy. Yuck! Had all my medical stuff done this week. I had an appointment for a scan at 9.25am yesterday and I was the only one there. Straight in, straight out - brilliant. I love weekend appointments and am so glad they're being done as the norm now. We've booked a cruise! We're going en famille- not till 2025, on Ventura, to celebrate our big birthdays. Having cancelled two lone cruises recently and thinking I didn't want to cruise any more, I realised I just didn't want to cruise alone any more. We're doing as we've done previously in that daughter and SIL will have an inside cabin and I will share with my granddaughters in a bigger balcony room. The bonus of this booking is that the 3rd passenger in my room (aged 16) travels for £49!!! Amazing. I hope you all have a good Sunday. Stay cool, stay well. Best wishes. Snow Hill Posted June 25, 2023 #47042 Share Posted June 25, 2023 Morning, already 21C this morning, awful nights sleep even with fan on room was so hot, got up at 1pm and sat on patio to cool down. Finally got back to sleep at 2, woken up by some idiot who stoped his car outside our house with sound system blaring at around what seemed like 200 decibels. 🤬 We were due to go out for a walk today and go for Sunday Lunch afterwards, but abandoned the walk idea as midday temp due to hit 29C, just go for lunch instead.
Adawn47 Posted June 25, 2023 #47043 Share Posted June 25, 2023 I'm another who had an awful night's sleep last night. Up at 4am, cool shower and sat in garden with a coffee and Kindle by 5am. It seems as though that will have been the best part of the day. Frank on the other hand is still sleeping contentedly😠 For now that is😁😉 Enjoy your day all and stay cool. Rare P&O SUE Posted June 25, 2023 #47044 Share Posted June 25, 2023 I woke up uncomfortably hot at 4.30am and came downstairs and had a coffee and read my kindle. My settee is leather so cool (at the moment!) I then went back to bed and slept to 7am. Before we go to this wedding I must remember to pull the curtains to keep our bedroom cool!

Splice the mainbrace Posted June 25, 2023 #47048 Share Posted June 25, 2023 Already 27c here but have left the windows open today as there is a nice breeze. Forecast is for the temperature to drop as the rain comes in later. I didn’t have any trouble sleeping last night, the beers while watching Glastonbury last night helped🍺😊 2
