Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

Galveston - It has been a few years since cruising out of Galveston, it was an easy drive for us when we lived in Texas.

Harbour House Pier 21 - we stayed there twice, Starbucks is right across the street, we left our car there for the week (part of the package) and walked to the ship.

Holiday Inn Resort - stayed there once.  Could leave car there and get shuttle to ship.  Ok but took awhile to get the shuttle back and forth.

Several times we drove the day of and parked at Lighthouse parking across the street from the port.  Very quick shuttle to and from the lot.  Be sure to park on the high side of the lot.  Galveston is prone to flooding everywhere.

I like Galveston Island - the pyramids, the Strand, the beach is ok, the Pleasure Pier, Shlitterbahn, Guido's for oysters.

Who, for the 2nd game in a row, had the benefit of a costly penalty called against the other team in the last minute.

@Sea Dog Congrats Greg!  It was one of the better Super Bowl games that I can recall seeing.  Most are boring games.  Although I hated to see it end on a call like that.  Eagle fans are probably upset this morning, but the scoop and score in the first half is what really cost them the game.

I wasn't impressed with the halftime show (I'm not a Rihanna fan but she has a great voice) and I wasn't impressed with most of the commercials.  I did like the Caddyshack ad, but I don't even remember what it was for. 🤷‍♂️

Would have been a better game if the refs didn't decide the game at the end with that crazy defensive interference call giving the the Chiefs a first down and then running down the clock before kicking the field goal.

Not giving the Eagles the chance to get the ball back with at least 1:45 minutes left to see what they could do to either go down and tie or win the game with a touchdown. If they were given that chance at least then it would have been one of the best Super Bowl Games ever. For the refs to decide the game like that with a ticky tacky call like that was just wrong. There were holds like that on every play of the entire game but to chose to call one there was really bad . If that's a good call there should have been 10 or 12 more holds earlier in the game.

The NFL should be a shame of themselves for the Field being such bad condition, everyone slipping so many times. The players couldn't really show their talents  with a playing field that wasn't suited for a game as big as this.

I really hope Arizona never gets to host another Super Bowl game again just because of that terrible field, it was a disgrace. Such a big game to be played in those conditions. Really felt bad for the players. They were all saying the field was the worse they have ever played on in all of their football careers.

A game as big as the Super Bowl should not now be spoken about as to how bad the field was.

I knew there would be doubters and haters after the Chiefs won the SB. Part of me does not even want to respond. Some of you are angry, some sad, some want to blame the refs. The refs did not win this game for the Chiefs. The Eagles blew it plain and simple in the second half. Here are the facts:

1. Eagles got 0 stops in second half

2. Eagles gave up 24 points

3. Eagles gave up longest punt return in Super Bowl history.

4. Super Bowl teams with a double digit lead at halftime in history are 26-1 going into that game. The only blown lead being the Falcons and the Patriots. Eagles now join that group as a second half meltdown team to lose a SB.

5. James Bradberry admitted to holding Ju Ju Schuster

6. Eagles had no Quarterback sacks

I’m not sorry for anything. The Eagles are a great team and will win a Super Bowl in the future. Let’s accept the outcome and move on. I am done discussing this any further. I have more important things to get excited about like the Bella Cruise.

Did anyone else get faked out by the Tubi commercial that made it look like your TV was switching channels to another show? Brian and I thought Andrew had the remote and we were like, "What are you doing? Why are you changing channels??" And he wasn't. When we figured it out, we all laughed.

I am not sure yet. I have been guessing statins.  My doctor did blood tests a few weeks ago.  All looked good related to muscles.  I got off of statins at the end of December.  I am giving to the end of next month.  If no improvement I will see a specialist.

I hope going off the statins will help! I was having some pain/fatigue issues with mine, and thankfully my doctor cut the dose in half. It helped a lot.

Yes, that one got me reaching for the Roku remote. I figured Rodrhi the Welsh Terrier might have stepped on it next to me on the sofa.  When I realized it was on the table, I was like what is going on.  Then realized it was a commercial.

I just read a long article yesterday about serious side effects to people taking statins. Muscle weakness was number 1 and ligaments were weakened also. Dr recommended upping your CoQ 10 intake. I take statins and Qunol Ultra CoQ10. I haven't had any problems at all.

Ever since my DH has been taking his CoQ10, his lab values drastically reduced and he has no limitations.

I had to have the shuffle of pills due to arm weakness and finally no more difficulty with arm strength.

Ozark kid, hope it gets bettter.

Thanks.  I have been taking CoQ10 with the statins for a long time now.  I have doubed this month.  They say the CoQ10 can help the recovery.  I was recommended the Qunol.  I haven't had time to get it yet but plan to when we get home from the adventure.

Thankful it is working for you.

I agree with all you said.  I was indifferent to either team winning, I was cheering for neither of them but was happy to take in the game.

One other item I will add to your list is both teams played on the exact same poor surface and there was no home team advantage that way. I think Phillie was hoping/expecting to walk through the second half the game with ease and that is not what happened.

As a Leafs fan says, there is always next year.

@Arzeena where are you hiding the Orlando warm?  At least the wind is better.  I heard warm starts tomorrow.  There is some lady here that keeps singing,... Cold never bothered me anyway.    Crazy

😁🤣 I promise you, it is not me singing!!!!!!  if it was, the enitre city would be empty because people would have already run far away for relief!

Yes, bit chilly as I have to wear my light sweater sometimes and complain about it! 😆

Last year was colder around this time.

Has your doctor mentioned seeing a neurologist, John?  I started seeing my neurologist years ago due to my balance issues after several falls, which attributed to a problem with my spinal cord.

So many ads I recognized faces but forgot what they were advertising.  Well except for this one that I love for many reasons, presented by my favourite leading front man.

My younger daughter flew to the UK just to see David in concert and came back the next day.She tries to get to as many of his concerts as possible.

Sorry to hear about your muscle pain.

My doctor changed my statin although blood test was clear.

My problem was not being able to take Ibuprofen for my arthritis with heart medication.

Best wishes that the pain goes away now you are off statins.

It got me also.  I saw Micheline playing with something out of the corner of my eye and thought she had the TV remote.  It was her phone.  I said, probably in a much too accusatory voice, "why are you changing the TV?".

The Disney characters are generally really good.  When our daughters were about 2 and 5, we went to Disney World.  My older daughter was a big fan of Belle from Beauty and the Beast.  She was sick though and spent most of her time in the park sleeping in a side by side stroller.  She perked up when she saw Belle and Belle talked with her for a few minutes...more than I'm guessing that she normally would have because my daughter was not feeling well.  Later, during the parade, Belle was riding on a float and saw my daughter in the crowd.  She pointed right at her, waved, and blew her a kiss.  That's the Disney magic that you pay for.
