The way I understand ALS there is no actual way of testing for it so there will not be a positive or negative result for ALS.  We are actually hoping to find something else that is causing the problem and that something can be done for it.

Like I said before,  please also pray for those around me that is having a hard time handling the news.  The girls are doing so much better.

Wow Mimi, I wish you could be here to give me a hug too.  I love warm hugs!

Thanks for your thoughtful words and prayers.

I am so very sorry. I was hoping it was something as simple as your statin, like you first thought.

Thanks for asking. They are better in the evening about not being too wild. They sleep a lot more during the day and evening because they are getting older. Lizzy is still a little hyper and barks but she is barking less. It’s funny because if she sees an animal on tv she will bark. And she likes to sit on the couch and growl at squirrels running around outside. Charlie is a real love bug. He likes to sit behind me on the couch and lick my head. They are a joy to be around. The chewing has become a little better. Only because we keep some dog gates around the stuff they want to chew on. We also give them plenty of chews to keep them occupied.

Charlie.

They are good looking dogs.

My older male dog (Oliver) is going to be 12 this september.  He is a lab/redbone coonhound mix.  He barks at anything on TV that resembles an animal.. dogs, squirrels, lions, bears, moose .. anything!

Emma is the total opposite.  Female 7 yr old purebred English Setter.  Could not care less.

Luckily the worst of it stayed south of us.  Now that the sun is going down, all is much calmer.  Thankful all ended well.

So glad you are all okay.  Very nasty system moving across the US.  Stay safe!

At this point the Neurologist is saying probable.   We should know more after the MRIs next week.  There is still hope.

Yes, it was a slot machine with clowns racing, etc.   So far his total winnings are over $6,000.

No luck for me I'm in the hole a couple hundred.

No, we didn't pick freebie yet.  I'm looking at either  a 12 night southern Caribbean or a 10 night fall canada sailing.

Will study both of our lists when we get home. But free cocktails is always nice perk.

I have to check with work when I can take off since we have our shore house plans and other cruises already booked for the year.

Just one, because you'd be paying for all of us to join you on that cruise. 😁😉

I absolutely would!  I just checked and the cash payout for the next Mega Millions jackpot is $209 million USD... I'm thinking I could spring for suites and DBPs for this whole group with that!

I want you to be a winner & have fun discovering the answer….Bella 3 would have to be one

Having all your preferred medical professionals available to you is amazing (& very comforting).

Definitely .... all the Bella cruises from now until eternity would be on my list if I win the big jackpot!

And yes, I can't believe my good luck at being able to see my desired providers.  Now here's hoping they don't consider me a "new patient" since it's been so long since I've seen them -- I don't know if they're all accepting new patients!

I am sure you could get US several 😉

You know I would!  I'd insist that you also bring all the girls and their families, though -- we would all want to see your adorable grandkids in person!

Last night was the final playoff game of the season for Owen and his team. They have a rough spell in January and February but ended the season with 9 wins and a tie.

The game last night was the second game of a best of 3 series.  Owen’s team won the first game 5-1 on Saturday, with Owen getting a goal. Last night they were down 2-1 but ended up tying it in the third. They got the go ahead goal with less than 4 minutes left. Both games were physical, with one of their players getting a 5 minute penalty and a 3 game suspension on Saturday in game one. In last night’s game 1 player from each of the teams got a 5 minute penalty and a 3 suspension for fighting. With about 30 seconds left another of their players was thrown out of the game for what I’ll call bad decisions.  We know their coach from soccer, as he was one of Owen’s coaches, and he said this particular kid is a hot head.

With about 15 seconds left the puck was deep in our end for a face off. Their goalie was pulled so it was 6 on 5. Our team won the face off and Owen was gone with the puck. Our team scored with less than a second on the clock and Owen fed the puck to one of his good friends, who got a hat trick last night. 3 goals in a game, his best game of the season.

Owen is 21 and always the last of the ice.

Owen with his friend, with the player of the game hat on.😃

My son played for 12 years, from ages 4-16.  Every now and then a video or photo will show up in my FB memories, and it's like it was yesterday (he's 23yo now).

Hockey families are like no other, IMO.... other than maybe cruise families!!!!

You'll meet him or you've met him? If the latter, and you don't mind telling "us", how was it?

I'll meet him this coming Monday evening.  He and his older brother (Bill's 77, his brother Jack is 81) are driving up to Michigan from Alabama just to meet me.

They're planning on staying a couple nights, so the plan is to meet them for dinner on Monday, then spend the day together on Tuesday including a trip to their sister's house to meet her (she lives about 15-20 minutes from me) and probably meet up for breakfast Wednesday morning before they drive back to Alabama.  I think we'll have dinner with my son and his girlfriend on Tuesday, so he can meet his grandfather, too.  My MIL just passed away about a month ago (although she'd been lost to dementia for several years), so my son doesn't have any grandparents remaining.... until now!

When Bill saw on FB that I posted that I'd gotten the ER job, he called me to make sure that it wasn't going to interfere with our plans for next week.  I told him that I wouldn't let it interfere!  They originally wanted me to come do my drug screen and TB test on Tuesday, and I stopped them right away and said, "Nope, I'm meeting my biological father for the first time, Tuesday is out!"

Then I got a text from Uncle Jack yesterday saying how excited he is to meet me.  Both Bill and Jack are planning on bringing a bunch of family photos to show me, too.

I still kinda feel like I'm dreaming.... everyone being so accepting and welcoming is just more than I could have possibly hoped for.  Sadly, all too many biological family members want nothing to do with an adoptee who finds them later in life.

I will ABSOLUTELY keep you guys posted on how it goes.

Sorry to hear about the breach making a new ID necessary.

I was lucky enough to visit Australia when I

was around 15 years old as part of USA baseball.  We visited Adelaide and played against Australian colleges in the area.  I will never forget what a beautiful place it was.  Visited a kangaroo park, held a Koala and did some beach/sightseeing while we were there.  Very very long flight but well worth it.

Travelling overseas with youth sporting teams is a wonderful opportunity.  Glad you have good memories of your visit to Adelaide/Australia.
