That’s next on my list, maybe Monday.  Hot steamy pots of water will be the word of the day. Couple hours should finish the task.

This morning I did some paper work. Followed that with a run to town for a “mission” trip. Curb side pick-up at Canadian Tire, a few grocery items, gas and drive thru Timmies. Also had a “productive” phone conversation with our local car dealer.😉

I cleaned the shower today, while we received 12” of snow. Tomorrow will be snow blowing day. Much rather do that, than clean the shower.

I’ll be honest, I am still a little light headed from the cleaning product. The fans were on vent and windows were open for cross ventilation. Finished product.

I mentioned a while ago that there was another fireplace in the house. Here’s a pic. It is two sided with our bedroom is on the other side.

So, what to do when your in a province wide lockdown and it’s -20c outside.

Seems like a good time to defrost the freezer and find out what treasures are hiding out at the bottom.  Didn’t have to toss nearly what I suspected I would considering we probably haven’t emptied it in 10 years.

Just like here. Put the food outside while defrosting the freezer. Too warm now- 10-20 above and storm coming. Will wait for another day to defrost.

I didn't even have to resort to that.  A butter knife and it all came off in nice big chucks.  I did end up breaking the butter knife though when I tried to straighten it.  I doubt Vikki will ever notice it missing.

Unfortunately ours is an upright with wire shelving. I wish it would be so easy. We put everything into a big cooler, but outside on a day like today is perfect.

We used to have an extra chest freezer when we had cattle, for meat storage. It was so easy to defrost. A little room temperature heat and putty knife worked wonder with the flat surface.

Thanks. In all honesty I’d miss it too.

After being at the cold arena at nights, after Owen’s practices, I will admit it makes crawling into bed a little nicer. The master and walk-in have heated floors too, which are an added bonus. Especially on long, cold, miserable days.

Well after losing money since yesterday I finally found a machine that liked me.  Won all my money back plus a bit!!!  I would send a picture of the machine but t it would probably be upside down🤪

Came up to the room because I am not stupid and the casino was getting a little too crowded, don’t think they were counting people.

Ahh, heated floors are the best.  When we redid our master bath 2 yrs ago we had heated floor installed too.   I'm thinking when we redo our kitchen to install there too.

We had amazing news today.  You may remember 2 weeks ago I spoke about a very dear friend who was put into hospice after having a massive stroke on dec 16th and doctors seeing no response or brain activity for a month.

They removed his feeding tube and stopped whatever meds he was on 2 weeks ago.

His Brother called today to tell us Mike started slowly waking up this week and as of this morning he is fully awake and they had him sitting up in bed eating soft food and drinking.  With help, of course.  My Eric said he woke up because he was hungry. LOL!

They said he is able to answer questions with one or two word answers (with is typical for him on a regular day).  He is able to move all his limbs, a little.

The family was shocked and amazed to hear this and officially removed him from hospice.   They will be moving him to another wing for rehab and have scheduled speech and physical therapists to see what his new baseline is.

Let's hope someone will make an exception and allow at least his children to visit him.

Truly a Miracle.

We have an upright, but it’s frost free. Only way for us to go.

Wow, that is fantastic. His family must be over the moon. So happy for them and for y’all to have your friend back. I don’t know any statistics , but I’m guessing it’s  not very common for someone to wake up like that.

I have cleaned the fridge and freezer in my kitchen but I keep forgetting to clean out the reserve freezer in our basement.      It's on my must do list too!   I guarantee you there are some fish and meats in there that are a couple years old with nasty freezer burn and ready for the garbage.

I went through my two freezers along with all of my food cupboards. AND the sneaky places DH seemed to be squirreling away food.  The food stocks were supposed to be COVID and Brexit supplies.  I just got frustrated that we never seemed to eat ‘fresh’ food, menus were planned depending on what was near the best before date.

Well I did that on 2nd January and banned all shopping apart from fresh veg, eggs, milk and cheese.  We have made a little dent in the supplies.  I think it is likely to be 5 years before we are buying any form of peas and beans again.

One day I long to plan a week’s menu and buy for that rather than shopping for the cupboard and then trying to work out what to eat from there.

This is one good thing coming from lockdown in my house

I'll second (third?) that.  Nothing better than a heated floor when going to the bathroom in the middle of a cold night.

We saw a nearly full moon rise out of the ocean last night while eating dinner.  Pretty cool watching it go from red to orange to yellow.  I didn't get any pictures...wouldn't have been appropriate in the restaurant.  I'm going to need to set an alert on my phone for the next full moon. Anyone have any good similar pics?  @twangster must have one somewhere.

New toy?

My avatar photo is very likely to disappear for a 2021 Shelby GT500.  I have been talking about it since last August but I decided to wait until this year. We were chatting about ordering time frame windows yesterday.  If ordered by late February, delivery should be late April/May just as the weather improves.

They unfortunately stopped making the lime green colour for the 2021. It was a one year colour. I took a chance that it would still be available.  They do however make my second favourite colour for 2021.

That is a sharp colour.  Are you allowed to have that deep a tint on the windows in Ontario?
