Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

So yesterday we traveled to our mall to do some after Christmas shopping.

I specifically needed some picture frames and as always get a few candles.

Well one thing led to another and ended up buying clothes for Miss Zoey.

Soon the local media came up to us as well as many others and asked about our outing and took our picture. We watched as they traveled and talked to many others as well as take numerous photos.

I joked to my husband. “Watch us be in the newspaper “.

Yup. Front page in small town USA.

Part of our home, away from home until our January cruise

I am thinking of using this area for our family photo.  Or Tiki bar. Or both😁

Nice, secluded beach access

Beach was not crowded this morning.

Even found a lighthouse for OB

And, Daryl was trying to wave down his largest inflatable friend.

But he just flew on by, and over the lighthouse.

Good thing, because we wouldn’t have room for that one in the pool.

Very nice!  Btw, loved your cruise report with Daryl.  Every photo made me smile.

We leave for the airport in a few hours.m stay over night and fly tomorrow to Cancun.

Have a safe and wonderful trip!  I’m really looking forward to your thoughts and comparison to a cruise.

@Ourusualbeach  Ken I hope you and your family have a great trip also!  And drive carefully - we’ve had terrible fog in the Northeast the past several days.

You probably mentioned it several times but where are you staying?  Rental home, right?

As much as I love cruising, camping, glizty casino hotels, this seems like perfection to me.  Can you adopt me?

Haha.  Yes, we are in a rental home for our between cruises stay.   This year we are at one in Pompano Beach.  We have stayed in several, between here and Hollywood.  Next year we are back to the same one we had last year, between Lauderdale by the Sea and Fort Lauderdale.

Thanks, still foggy but taillights are still visible a long way off.

Left Meadville 30 minutes ago.  First stop for gas and last chance to grab a Tim Hortons coffee.

Thanks! Which reminds me to check in on the World Cruise thread. I stopped following it after a few days as it seemed like a "regular" Caribbean cruise.

I figured I check back in once they start reaching some of the more exotic, unique destinations.

Thanks. How do you like the area?

I did a post-cruise stay in Pompano Beach a few years ago. Stayed at a beachfront hotel aptly named The Beachcomber. I remember liking the area, quiet enough to relax but the "action" was just a short drive away. On my list of possible retirement areas.

We are about 2.5 miles north of the Beachcomber, near the Hillsboro inlet.  The beach is narrower up here, and it is a little more removed from the action.  It is a nice, quiet area, and we will probably keep this house on our list of ones to come back to.
