Well, we made it home from AC in one piece and with winnings!  Charlie won a few jackpots on video poker so I will keep him.  Our host bought us dinner at Gordon Ramsey Steakhouse so it was a winning trip all around🍾

DH went to Foxwoods with his close friend Thursday night. He came home with over 1k in blackjack winnings. I quickly forgave him for being out so late 😉!

So I haven’t posted much but have been trying to keep up.  Bit of family drama here.  Youngest DD (28) has Ben dating a guy for about 2 years. He’s a real %#* - you can replace that with any word, pretty much any/all would apply to him. They’ve been on & off due to his antics but in January she broke it off and they’ve stayed apart.  Last Sunday she told us all she’s been seeing him again. DH & I are just heartsick that she can’t see his bs.  She’s beautiful, smart, has a great job, bought her own house 6 mos after graduating from college and so on.
We all know it’s her choice, she’s a grown woman. Just very, very frustrating as there’s not much we can do.
On a happier note, DH & I went to a Red Sox game last Wednesday - kids bought him tix for his birthday. We had a great night. And they were advertising the Billy Joel concert we have tix to in August so looks like it will be a go.

IMG_2736.MOV

Do they still play Sweet Caroline (which is NOT about Caroline Kennedy) in the 8th Inning at Fenway?

Hope your daughter sees the light.  Mine did.

Billy Joel.  One of my forever faves.  Something wonderful to look forward to!

It has been almost 2 weeks since we had any rain.

It seems like the Dallas area had rain, rain, rain for forever recently.  When not raining, humidity was too high to enjoy being outside. AND we now have to look forward to a usually brutal hot summer.  I can't complain.  I wore my down jacket approx. 5 times in 13 years.

congratulations! I just had my first dose too, super happy about it 😁

Great news.

When do you get your second vaccine jab?

Hopefully 3-4 weeks and not the 11 weeks we waited for our second vaccine jabs.

4 weeks (Pfizer) for both my husband and I. Mum & Dad had Astra and their wait is 12 weeks too.

My brother lives in Bristol and he and his fiancé have had their first dose too, I am so relieved my family will be all protected!

What are your impressions? What did you have and do it recommend it?

I had Beef Wellington and it was excellent.  Charlie had filet mignon and said it was one of the best he ever had.  They are a bit pricey so having the check picked up was a nice perk.  The service is always good.  I think Harrahs old steakhouse was actually a bit better but this was good.

We have one at Harrah's casino here in Kansas City. I've been thinking about eating there. Thanks for your comments. They have a good menu but like you said a little pricey, but now a days what isn't.

When were you in KC? Yes Q39 is incredible. Rob Magee is an amazing chef. I remember him when we was winning a lot of BBQ competitions.

We have been to church this morning and called at Wynyard gardens for lunch.

I hope everyone has a nice day.

I’m a little shocked by a bottle in front of Pauline. It needs to be elegantly poured into a glass.
Unless that’s malt vinegar. In that case, she doesn’t have to drink it.

I was waving from the beach today!    Did you see me?     We had several beautiful hours on the beach.  Brought our kites down but haven't flown them yet.

It was Ginger Beer and she had a plastic glass,it is next to the aluminium pole of the sun umbrella.

Last  night on Watch Hill bay. The boats have returned for summer.

That's so beautiful. We just drove around Watch Hill a few hours ago before heading to the airport in Providence to go home. Had a nice visit with our son and grandkids. It's so good to be traveling and visiting again.

We had Good Humor trucks - hear the bells ringing and off to ask Mom for some $ to buy a cream sickle!!!! Pavlov was right - we do get conditioned!!!!

We spent summers on Long Island with grandparents. My grandmother loved ice cream which worked out really well for us, because we could get Good Humor creamsicles and a couple of hours later toasted almond bars from Bungalow Bar.
Ice cream trucks here were Brand X, but good ice cream. I’d been married for a couple of years when I found out my DH drove one in high school.

It was June of 2017. It was the first stop of one of my car tours. I spent two nights in KC and stayed at the KC Marriott CC Plaza. I loved the drive along Bush Creek on MLK JR BLVD.

It was a ghost town at The stadium when I picked up my credentials.

Went to Q39 early on the Friday night for dinner. Had the pork belly and white bean appetizer with frizzled onions.

And the samplers plate.  Brisket, burnt ends, ribs, corn bread and beans. Some veggies too. LOL.  Needless to say, there were left overs for the hotel fridge.

There were 25,000 of us there for the show on Saturday at Arrowhead.

Our route that year on secondary roads.

Also got to go into a suite and see the stadium.

Didn’t get to eat here but loved their sign.

Near the Mayo?   I thought they were near the ketchup.  😄 😄

They are NOT by the ketchup or mayo. Last year I went running over to that area to get one for my cereal. Not there. They were by the bowls of cut fruit. I have a pic somewhere...

My mom and I spent yesterday driving up to Leadville, CO, the tallest city in the US and on to Twin Lakes. This was probably the prettiest road trip we’ve taken this far.

These are some of the photos from the drive to Leadville.
