I would be worried for all cruises with that itinerary until whatever issue is resolved and we see people going to Bimini.

I had assumed my 9/12 Horizon will not sail with the 3 ports scheduled.  I’m trying to be optimistic still but know that GC is a certain no, Ocho Rios is almost a certain no and Cozumel would be tied to the other 2.

So every time I see one of these Horizon posts, I assume it may be NEW info about this ship.  I would take Bimini or HMC or whatever.  Just want definitive info at some point as I can’t schedule excursions that never leave the ship.  LOL

WE have paid the $5 for Mr Sanchos to hold a deposit for Cozumel, and I have a private tour in Roatan all but confirmed but I hate to confirm it if we are not allowed to do an independent tour. I hope things settle in to something somewhat predictable again.

They could keep it Western with Costa Maya and Amber Cove or possibly Key West.

Instead of Bimini, they get two days at HMC.  While never been to Bimini, would be home run for me.

Actually that would be neat because they can have events on the beach in the evening when its cooler besides the daytime picnic etc.

HMC for us would be a SEA DAY (we love sea days). The only downside is that many things  are closed on the ship during (actual) port days.

Full disclaimer -- almost every Caribbean port is now what we'd call a SEA DAY! We're pretty much excursioned out.

How about a seven night CTN (cruise to nowhere)? !!! All ship shops and restaurants are open - with no early port days (and announcements) to awaken you --- it's all about the SHIP !! 😄

So what you are saying is, this will be the greatest cruise ever. HMC is god tier

Honestly, forget those Bermuda cruises where you stay for three days and your ship is basically your hotel.

Do that at HMC!!!

With tenders going back and forth 24/7.

And remodel the Cabanas so those willing to pay (no doubt big bucks) a chance to sleep overnight in them.

There is no place in the world that has the hour glass sand like HMC!!

That’s a great idea!
Maybe take each of the larger ships and once every couple of months for each of them have an “It’s all about the ship” voyage.

And have top notch comedians and entertainers on those voyages.

I know one thing. I’d definitely purchase the Cheers package for that.

And it would be the longest relaxing do what I want when I want no guilt week of my life!!!!

John Heald!! Are you listening???

Would book it in a heartbeat Tom.  Save on port charges and just enjoy everything the ships offer, primarily on the Vista Class and Excellence Class ships.

If I'm reading that right, it says cruise ship passengers are allowed off the ship during the non-curfew hours (7pm - 5am) so is it just an abundance of caution?  Or could it be related to the hurricane?  It looks like South Bimini is in the direct path of the hurricane but HMC is a little more north and east.   Anyway, TWO DAYS AT HALF MOON CAY IS A RARE TREAT!

Are you referring to Elsa?  She is south of Haiti and heading west and north into the Gulf.  Nowhere near the Bahamas.

Heck yeah to that!  And make the Cheers package work on HMC!

Good catch.  All I read, though, is:

blah blah blah

"• All bars are prohibited from operating;"!!

blah blah blah

HMC is in the Bahamas also.  Even though it is privately owned, do they not have to comply with Bahamian government rules? 🤔

I know I normally hit up a bar in port to try some local brew, but since Bimini is a part of the Bahamas, I’m sure I’ve had it. Unless it’s super local stuff.

Local beer is Kalik or Sands both of which I have consumed more than my share and can get Kalik at Total Wine in Knoxville which is a treat but does not taste as good without a Bahama beach to enjoy.

I've been to Bimini, and be glad you are skipping it.

Don't get me wrong, beautiful little island, but a cruise ship of people would swamp it. I spent a weekend there at the Resorts World Hilton Casino. It's the only thing there other than a tiny market.

If a guest of hotel, great place to chill.

If a ship was there, I'd be hatin' life.

I would so be up for this!  We don't even get off the ship in 1/2 the ports now, such as Nassau, Belize, Grand Cayman, etc.  And if we do get off it is just to walk around for an hour or so - then right back on the ship.  Love having the ship "to ourselves" while everyone else gets off.
