You go girl. I’m glad to hear the good news. I’m wishing we could get the upgrade fairy for Mom. She is going to be 94 just before sailing. I’m thinking since I already placed a bid they might have the fairy pass us by. 😇😎

Thank you 😊 I am sending you lots of luck. What you’re doing for your mommy is super dope, enjoy every minute to the fullest. I’m so jealous 😉

The person I talked to was surprised they hadn't asked before they moved me.

Honestly it would have been more surprising if they had asked you. It’s standard practice for the upgrade to happen and the notification to come out after the fact.

For 5 days, I'd spring for a WS, even if it has to be F301.  Trust me, you will not miss your balcony.

You would greatly regret cabin F301. It is opposite the open corridor door just feet from Churchill's cigar lounge. The stink waft's to this cabin.  It is also smaller then all the other window suites in the corridor.

I sail next year in may and I was notified last night

Just to clarify for everyone reading this thread.  You had posted you received a free upgrade.  The posts above we folks waiting to hear how guests who placed a bid under the new system made out.

I guess she was just pointing out that the upgrade fairy may still come when some others questioned whether that would be the case with the bidding system.

Right, but people were also interested in whether or not the upgrade fairly still exists, and indeed he or she does. I posted for the concerned and curious friends on this thread. But, thanks for pointing that out.

True, but these upgrades came before the bidding system started.

In the future some of these may still occur before final payment if some cabins are selling well and an upgrade could make one of those cabins available for sale again.

So, the pricing on our cruise which I put in a bid went down in price so, I canceled my bid and upgraded to a room of our choosing.  It was actually a little cheaper than the minimum bid .. otherwise, I probably would have left it as is.  We now have an aft facing balcony cabin .. yay!

Thank you.  I would like to know both.  This way, maybe we can see how it all plays out.

"WE" would definitely miss the balcony, sorry ...

the difference in a window suite and a vista suite is $300 pp - $60pp pd for the balcony

based on "minimum bids"

So the big difference is club class dining. Private dining area and private breakfast area. When I don’t get club class I miss it. You don’t get this with mini suite only club class min or higher.

Shows the importance of continuing to watch pricing after you have submitted a bid.

For that situation, a bid would only be able to get accepted if someone cancels their booking in a category there are bids for.

agreed - for our upcoming cruise - we can 'bid' on a Vista suite ... but there is not one 'currently available' on the Princess website for booking

I respect others opinions about Window Suites, but F301 "isn't that bad...if"

1.  You can close the door that leads out toward Snooker's

2.  If another WS opens up, you can easily ask for a move to a better WS location (higher number).

3.  Suite perks for the price of Club Class Mini (or less)

4.  Suite breakfast

5.  Same day laundry

6.  Mini-bar (plus elite mini-bar)

7.  Location, location, location.

8.  F301 is smaller than the other WS but still bigger than a mini-suite

9.  Upgraded bathroom with shower and tub.

I would have been really happy if the Royal Class Ships had built more window suites on deck 6 than Deck Sky High and forward.

I would get one on a transatlantic where balconies are mostly useless….the panoramic view is much more enjoyable when it’s cold and windy out

Posting as information only. Many are anxious to hear results, I cannot help there yet.

10 days Caribbean,  Dec 2022, Enchanted,  paid in full,  Deluxe Balcony DB guarantee booked,  Elite loyalty level. My original booking is quite old, so I got a good price. This cabin is selling today for approx. $1500 more than I paid.

I have no idea what their process is for sending offers, but these are all the details for this booking.

Yesterday I got upgrade bid offers via email as follows: This is the suggested starting price

Premium Deluxe (I believe these are the aft balconies) = $40 pp

Mini Suite = $155 pp

Forward Facing Club Mini = $285 pp

Club Class Mini = $320 pp

Vista Suite = $1115 pp

Premium Suite = $1145 pp

We are also on the Enchanted for 10 days leaving December 9th.  We used a "free interior" offer and upgraded to a guaranteed ME mini suite.  I contacted the Casino reservations folks to ensure that making an offer wouldn't kill the protection on our booking and inadvertently cancel it like some other actions do and was assured that it would not.  Here's the minimum amounts that we were allowed to bid:

Forward Facing Club Mini = $130 pp

Club Class Mini = $165 pp

Window Suite = $880

Vista Suite = $925 pp

Premium Suite = $955 pp

Penthouse Suite = $980

Penthouse Suite Aft Facing = $1305

Owners Suite = $1480

Sky Suite = $3880

We did put in minimum offers for Club Class and both show sold out so there is little chance of succeeding.  We love the aft facing Penthouse Suites but what they are want for a minimum bid is higher than what we used to get under the upsell program.  Cruise is in 84 days so we shall see where this ends up but I'm expecting that we will stay in a plain old mini suite.

Unfortunately, there are no Grand Class ships with Window Suites that do TransAtlantic (maybe to Greenland).

Thread is 11 pages long and no a single bid has been accepted.

Title:  How is the bidding system doing?  I would dare to say....Nothing is happening, yet.  Wake me when the first acceptance comes in.

First applicable cruise is 14 days away.  I'll let you know when I get my rejection email for that one.
