We passed by this light house early one morning.

Is this the lighthouse that seems to be in the middle of nowhere? If it is the one I'm thinking about, it marks the Old Bahama Channel that runs between the Florida east coast and the Bahama Island chain.

I don't know how people do it, those 3-5 day cruises go so fast. Guess it's not as bad when you can drive to the ports but with flying involved just doesn't seem it would be worth the hassle. Flying is such a pain !

We like to do shorter cruises if we want to add a land based vacation. We’re doing a 4 nighter on the Mariner next May, adding a few days prior near Cape Canaveral and a few days post cruise near Disney Springs.

I love flying. It is part of the vacation for me. However, I agree about the time frame. It takes me a day or so to get out of work mode mentality. Any cruise less than a week is too short for me to get any relaxation.

Our first cruise in 1989 was a 3 day. Flew from St Louis to Miami in January. So exciting. Did a few more 3 and 4 day fly ins. Eventually tired of it

Also did a 5 day out of SJ for our first Royal cruise. I'd do that again, but not out of SJ😉

We have cleared security and are waiting near our gate. Uber was easy and took 40 minutes to get us here. Lots of time to spare for our 11:45 boarding.

Sorry I couldn't help on the return

After 40+ cruises we decided to try a 5 day with ports that worked for us, in the limited time window we have.

This is our cruise experience and it wasn’t a hassle to us. It worked within our time frames. I’m glad our vacation doesn’t have to fit your needs, but you sure like to express your opinion.

We look at the positive and this is our vacation. When you sail next and do a live review I can’t wait to follow along.

If dynamics worked for us, we would hop on a plane to cruise for 4 nights in a NY (TX) minute!

You and Lisa HAD to take this cruise to experience another Over the Rainbow moment.

No worries. We were excited to meet you and enjoy the ride one way. We are now on the plane and soon ready to take off.

Thank you for the live review! It gets me excited for the same itinerary on Mariner in 2 weeks.
Two questions:  Was there a separate boarding area for suites at Terminal 5?

Did you order your Uber when you left the terminal or ahead of time?

So glad to see you are back to cruising. I’m sure Owen (and Lucy) will be glad to have you home!

Love the dune buggy. Lisa was not letting me take it home as a souvenir.

@soremekun the closet thing I saw to a cruise duck was laying on the ground out front of the Cafe Promenade.  Thankfully I didn’t trip over them daily.

One for the bollard and line crew.

I played pickle ball  once on Allure, so hot even though it was at 9:00 am and couldn’t wait for a Bloody Mary and a shower. Ha, I follow CLR on Instagram, he’s doing a lot of Virgin cruises.

Shortest cruise we’ve done is 6 day but I’d do a 4-5 day one because the minute we leave for the airport (Detroit), we are on vacation! Loved your review as always.
