Sorry I posted this on Sunday’s Daily. Wish we could delete the old copies as it does get confusing at times.

Anyway’s here’s a live link showing the Nieuw Statendam in Saguenay, Quebec. Here’s hoping our Dailylites onboard have a great day. Saguenay has a great welcoming for cruisers!

Jacqui @kazu, I’m glad your Thanksgiving meal with old and new friends went well. Our menu for tonight was finally posted and there is Turkey and the trimmings listed. I wish I could just order the dressing though, maybe I’ll ask for an extra entree.  The Chile Rellenos look good too. It’ll be a nice afternoon dilemma to ponder over. Hopefully your car will be an easy fix. I hate car issues.

I was up late watching the Ravens finally pull a win out of the jaws of defeat.  It was a real nail biter.  We are now alone in first place in our division.

That game was too late for me (didn't even know the outcome until this morning) but is certainly a welcome change from the 2 last quarter collapses.  I hope this becomes the new normal.

One more holiday to celebrate today.  Today is Double Ten Day in Taiwan.  It is their National Day and celebrates the day in 1911 when a revolution started that led to the downfall of the Ching Dynasty and establishment of the Republic of China in 1912.

Good afternoon.  Somehow I managed to get the house cleaned in record time.  That probably won't happen again!  I guess I was motivated to get it over with today.  The house always seems so much brighter and fresher when I finish cleaning.  Now I would just like to find a way to keep it that way.

This afternoon, I'm trying to organize the things we need to take with us tomorrow morning.  DH does not need much, I will need a few things, and I don't want to be hunting for them at 4 am.

A very Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Northern friends!

We are happy to celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day here and have managed to utilize the metric system as well. The recipes look so good and to this half Irish gal the addition of potatoes on the bottom is genius.

It is only going to be 65 or so today. The sun is out so we will also celebrate that. My tasks today include a doctors appointment for DH and then some cooking later for the family.

Tana had a rough night and we didn’t get much sleep. It always looks better in the morning, right? Her aide is due today but had some car trouble.

I am unable to leave her alone now so  DD  will bring her computer to our side of the house if the aide does not arrive soon. We are so fortunate to be able to pinch hit for each other and  that both DD and DSIL are still working from home most days.

We went to the Volcano’s National Park when we went to Hilo and we’re just amazed. I am sure it changes all the time with continued eruptions.
Lou and Terry  with our bus stickers!

Terri, I'm sorry Tana had a bad night. It is good you and your DD can cover for each other, and I hope the aide showed up.  Nice picture of yiou and DH.

Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily!  Happy Thanksgiving Day to all Canadians around the world; I'm sure there are turkeys being cooked in many places where you normally wouldn't see them.   Happy Columbus Day to our American friends!

I am happy to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day, especially with my heritage.  Although we've had the  metric system for a number of years, there are still certain things I still have trouble with - length being one; I've never mastered the centimeters, millimeters thing.   Because I sew, I know a meter is 39 inches, so I do many calculations in my head.

There's not a lot on our agenda today, just tidying up the house and getting it ready for our lovely friends (who are nearly 90) who will be coming to the city for medicals on Wednesday.  They live about 4 hours from here and take turns driving, so we're hoping they'll stay an extra day or two so we can get them rested between journeys.   They like having sweet snacks, so I'll likely make some muffins to have with breakfast, and brownies or cupcakes for afternoon tea or bedtime treats.

Because we had our big meal yesterday, and even though I cooked a small turkey (5-7kg), we have lots of leftovers - yay!!!  It will be turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables and Greek salad on the deck tonight.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who is hurting, especially the innocent people in Ukraine who are the victims of a senseless bombing, and cheers to all who are celebrating.  Stay safe, everyone!

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

Gerry

Gerry, I hope your have a nice visit with your friends and can persuade them to stay a while before driving back home.

The mailbox and post look new.  I'm inspired to work on our shutters soon.  They will look better, but a couple have faded and been "bleached" with water damage so they won't be perfect, but some of that will be hidden by the shrubs.

Good morning! One really knows their retired when they wake up not realizing it’s a holiday!😎 For our Canadian friends Happy Thanksgiving!🦃 Have been to Hilo and the Big Island several times and enjoyed the pics and stirring of memories. Thanks.

It’s a cool 54 degrees this morning and will get up to 81 and there is a chance of rain later this week.
Last night I committed gluttony as the lobster I ordered from Publix weighed in at 3.25 lbs! I ate the whole thing!

Thoughts and prayers for those that need them. Any of my problems are very mediocre compared to so many. Especially the people of South Florida and Ukraine.

Thanks for the Report and List. Have a nice day everyone.

Happy Monday Morning Dailyites!  Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian Friends!

I've read the Harry Potter Series several times, and can't remember that line at all.  Maybe by the time that line shows up in the book, I am more sympathetic to Professor Snape.

I saw the rice dish being made on the cooking movie from Netflix, SALT.

I have arthritis in OMG my middle fingers on both hands.  When they lock up, typing becomes hard, and it looks like I am shooting everyone the bird.  In other words, I kind of stay home on the bad days.

There is a new documentary on Netflix, Inside the Mind of a Cat.  Turns out, they do love us.  Cat lovers should watch this one.

Fawn cat had a new friend who moved into the yard several months ago.  He would eat meat out of my hand,  he finally let me pet him last week, and then he disappeared on Friday.  He was injured and not well to begin with, but he had a bed here, and had come home every night until this weekend.  Fawn is now a lonely cat, and has been traveling back and forth from our yard, through the back 40 (total wilderness in the back yard) and over to the neighbors, but no Bubbles.  This morning she started eating canned food again, and wanted her breakfast by the door, not out in the driveway.  I guess she understands he is not coming back.  I will be amazed if we see him again.

I'm sorry Fawn's friend Bubbles has disappeared.  Maybe a new buddy will wander into the yard.

Good Morning from the Noordam

Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian friends!

Embarkation in San Diego was not too bad. There was a separate line for VeriFLY. We walked by lines of people checking in, so very worthwhile. So we were on the ship in a very short time.
Only bad thing I lost my sunglasses somewhere.  Going to check at guest services today . Maybe someone turned them in.  We were very late leaving- 10pm because of loading supplies.
The crew is as always wonderful. There have been some upgrades in the handicap cabins. We are in a signature suite and a button opens the doors, the bathroom is great and the water doesn’t run all over. Going to put some pictures on Halifacs. The best thing is a Lift on the pool. I was so excited! DD and so me have never been in a cruise ship pool.
We had our Meet and greet yesterday- 150 members attended. Very fun!

We have to wear masks for 7 days and we all are going to be retested on day 5.

Stay safe and enjoy today

    Charlene

Charlene, I'm glad you had an easy time embarking the Noordam.  We noticed the Seaview pool on Koningsdam had a lift too. IIRC, there was a portable one on Prinsendam or Veendam, but it was kept in a storage locker unless needed.  The cabin upgrades sound nice too.

and...my view...😊

Sue, great pictures of a great view made even better with the Zuiderdam in the picture.  We have friends on that cruise, and it looks like there will be good weather for them.

I had a weird phone call a little while ago.  It was from a dermatologist who I had supposedly seen several years ago.  I did not recognize his name or the name of the practice.  I looked number up online and his main office is in a different town, but he travels to various central Texas towns.  If it is who I saw, he was a PA when I saw him, and he was not very good.  I had to point out anything I questions about and he did not do a full body scan.  Fortunately our PCP referred us to a wonderful doctor who we both saw in August, and will see again in April.  Having a doctor's office call former patients who were seen when he worked for a different practice just seems weird to me.

I hope the car can be driven to the dealer for repairs tomorrow.  Is the noise on the same side?  If the opposite perhaps they should have replaced the ball joints there as well last time.  I know it's inconvenient for you to be without a car so fingers crossed they will get right on it.

Thanks.  And yes, it’s the same side 😠. My hopes are it’s their error so there is no charge.  I hate going to the dealership - once this is done, I suspect I will find someone else to do the work since the warranty is gone but..there’s only 50,000 kms on the SUV.  None of this makes sense to me.

We never had a major issue before - but of course, like everything else - everything has gone wrong since Jose has gone 😔

I hope the SUV gets fixed tomorrow. I just had my car inspected, and mentioned I'd had the drive axle boot replaced elsewhere, after hearing a clunking noise, as I was afraid to drive it the 30 miles to the dealership.

Thanks - I am actually going to call them in the morning to see if it safe to drive it or if it should be towed.  Last time they told me not to drive it.  Of course, I forgot to ask when I called.  thankfully they were open Saturday morning.

Project complete.  No mail until tomorrow though due to the holiday.  00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVIRRvF9IyXL1rIrCV6S4kb_4xJ2Twu75QF_jizMkB1ZdA?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1665412986

Beautiful - Looks wonderful 🙂 I so wish I had one here but there would never be any mail in it.  Have to go to a box down the street to get our mail.

@aliaschiefno worries on your lobster - there’s no difference between eating a big 3 pounder or 2 or 3 of the 1.5 pounders 😉

When I ordered lobster for our dinner for after the funeral - there were 12 of  them and only 6 of us.  Need I say anymore 😉

So the sun did decide to show its face after all.

We went in search of replacement earrings, but returned empty handed.

Afterward, I used the plunge pool outside our cottage and had a few visitors.

I thought you might like to see some pictures of them.

They are awfully cute.

Lenda @Quartzsite Cruiser, I will be thinking of you both all day tomorrow. I am hoping things go well with the surgery and DH will soon have symptomatic relief. It is a long hard day at the hospital waiting for the news from the surgical team but we are all here for you and DH.

Thank you, Terry.  The surgery is scheduled for 7 am and is supposed to take 20-30 minutes.  They say it will be after the second surgery on 10/24 before there the sciatica pain begins to really lesson.  The second one takes about an hour, normally.  Our neighbor had his second one this morning, but for some reason it took a little more than four hours.  His wife didn't say why it took so long, but he is okay and up walking.

Those little stinkers eat you out of house and home! They stole our avocados and bananas. They know how to lift a window and pull out screens and know when the lights go out they can do "recon" in your cottage. The little devils even took my flower bouquet!

This afternoon, I'm trying to organize the things we need to take with us tomorrow morning.  DH does not need much, I will need a few things, and I don't want to be hunting for them at 4 am.

Lenda, praying that all goes smoothly for DH tomorrow morning and you are able to relax a bit.

We were told that if you leave them alone, they will leave you alone.  They were certainly keeping their distance today,  Just fun to watch.
