Thank you for the Daily Report.  I will skip the meal, but think about trying the drink and  the wine sounds good.

My dh and I are going away for a one night getaway to ... Niagara Falls.  They have an annual charity fund raiser where they price a lot of hotels rooms at a very "cheap" price and the promotion is called "cheap sleep".  You have to show that you actually live in the Niagara region  to get the deal.  I booked us into a  hotel  with a water park because dh likes it.

Good morning from beautiful Southwest Florida.

Weather has been warm but we haven't seen the sun much this week which is really rare for the Sunshine State.

Good selection of days, what would we have done in our teen years without a jukebox in our favorite hamburger joint.

Einstein was a genius but sometimes wise men probably have to solve problems.

I would try the meal but pass on the drink.

Huge upset yesterday at the World Cup with Saudi Arabia beating Argentina, France looked tough as they beat Australia quite easily.

Thanks for The Daily, everyone stay well and have a great day.

Good afternoon.

Thank you for today's daily reports Rich.

Excellent quote and port of the day.

I'm not keen on today's food so this was our dinners last night which were delicious.

I hope everyone is well and have a fantastic day.

Graham.

Good Morning Everyone, thanks for the daily fleet report.  I’ll pass on today’s meal suggestion and will have ham for dinner.  Getting caught up on work emails got sidetracked when I got pulled into a crisis call that lasted a few hours.  After work I took a quick run to PetSmart to get the kids some food using a good coupon.  Today I must pack and get things ready for the pet sitter.  I hope that everyone has a good day today.

Good morning.  Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Report.

Not quite as cold here today, some of the snow is melting!🙂  We still have a lots of snow on the lawn, but the sidewalks and roads are clear.

I like cranberries, I'll pass on espresso, haven't listened to a jukebox in ages.

Good quote.

I'll pass on the meal, but I'd like the drink and wine.

We were in Kotor several years ago, I'll see if I can find pictures.

Prayers for everyone.

Stay safe.

Thanks for our Hump Day Daily, Rich.

Nice collection of days.  I like them all but especially Jukebox day - my father’s business was juke boxes (way back in the day) and then video machines (he moved with the times 😉).  When they broke down, he saved parts and eventually we had one in our house.  We were fairly popular with teenagers in the area for dancing in our sun room 😉

LOL on the quote.  I have decided I am not wise as I all I seem to do is try to solve problems 😉

Well, my luggage is at the Saint John Airport at long last - when it gets delivered to me is another story.  It had quite the trip yesterday.  Toronto to Quebec city airport, Quebec to Montreal, Montreal to Saint John.  OMG.  Apparently they put it on the wrong cart which went to Quebec instead of the flight to Saint John. 🙄  (There are eyes everwhere 🤪). According to the website they want to deliver it tonight between 11 pm and 1 am. 😱. Can’t change the time so I e’d them - guess we’ll see.

All our American friends are prepping for Thanksgiving.  Wishing all our friends South of the Border a blessed Thanksgiving tomorrow and hoping no one has to work too hard today 🤞

Prayers for everyone on the Care list & for those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list.

Good morning friends!  We just docked slightly late in Castries, St. Lucia so our stay today has been extended an hour until 4 pm.  All aboard 3:30 pm.  We will go ashore and do something getting some fresh air I hope at the same time.  Not sure of the weather here today but we can always take an umbrella along.  It's probably about 80F outside but my weather app says a shower possibly at 9 am, then wind the remainder of the day with a high of 83.

No word yet on mask directives.  We are still wearing them until the announcement.

Kotor is a wonderful port of call and we had it recently on May 17, 2022.  Here is a link to Rich's post that day in order to retrieve photos.

Kotor is another wonderful walled city that everyone should have a chance to see.  We first went there in August, 2017 on the Westerdam.  The second time was on the Pacific Princess in late November, 2018 so quite a difference in weather.  It was rainy and cool that time.  The third time was in June 2019 on a segment of our 50th anniversary Family Cruise.  The family hadn't joined us yet but we can't just go to Europe for a week or 10 days!  We had to add on to it.  The weather was pretty that time, too.

We got the coveted docking spot right across from the old City walls on Aug. 2017 on the Westerdam.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVL4owiQKruubn4B276p1F5A?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1503945326

You can see the old City of Kotor across from the ship in this shot, along with the activity going on below us.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVK2h_nls22g9ud3a8rs5BoW?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1503945348

We got off and headed over to an entrance to the city.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVKIjqsLN8Z0TTjgtcwWA-AC?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1503945424

The first thing we ran into was this "couple" in front of a cute souvenir shop.

The town is full of cats.  In the past I've posted photos of the stairs with about 7 cats lounging on them.  Here they are, photo taken in Nov. 2018.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVL8Gk90FjhLBwzNVg4RyOK2?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1546389887

Looking upward on the hillside over the city, there is a path you can pay admission to take and see everything from way up there.  We didn't go up there, but our tablemates did, and they sent me a photo taken from way up high.00-krGnVk_TmW1vjXOSXmrbNCgtIzRKIF36hrdhGheqtVK-6o3Bw3qQpk4I2lkEeARd?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1503945583

Good morning from a warmer and cloudy central Texas.  It is currently 52F and should warm to 58F this afternoon.  It looks we'll have rain beginning tonight through Saturday morning.  I'm trying to catch up on a few things before heading to Waco.

Cranberry Day is appropriate for the day before Thanksgiving.  About the only way we like cranberries is the canned, jellied sauce.  DH will drink expresso occasionally on cold days.  Jukeboxes were big when we were growing up.  Does that date us?

Another interesting quote from Albert Einstein, but I think some problems cannot be avoided.

We'll pass on the meal, drink and wine today.

We have enjoyed several visits to Kotor.  I had the link to Rich's @richwmn post from May 17 ready to share, but Sandi @StLouisCruisers beat me to it.  She must have good internet in St. Lucia, a beautiful island.  I hope she and Dennis enjoy a nice, rain free day there.

@4966and556  Enjoy your get-away in Niagara Falls.

@grapau27  Graham, another wonderful meal.  I can't wait to find out where your two have been.

@Crazy For Cats  Jake, wishing you safe travels.

@kazu  Jacqui, it was good to see that your luggage's journey is almost to the end.  Hope they can deliver it earlier than 11 pm.

Since my post from May 17 of our visits to Kotor is rather long, I'll repost it separately.

Lenda

Good morning everyone.  Busy day ahead. Thanks for the daily report. Will be eating lots of cranberries, tomorrow.  I like today’s quote although it’s not always possible.  I will be roasting butternut squash later today for tomorrow’s feast.  I will be visiting today’s port next year on our retirement cruise.  @StLouisCruisers’s photos are adding to the excitement!  Prayers for everyone on our prayer list.  Cheers to everyone celebrating happy events today!

We have been to Kotor three times, and like the town and the old city.  The area long the bay is also beautiful.  I looked through my pictures and tried to find some that have not been posted today, but please indulge me if there are some repeats.

Our first visit to  Kotor was on October 1, 2016, when the Prinsendam was in Dubrovnik.  Since that was about our umpteenth visit to Dubrovnik, we decided to hire a taxi to take us to Kotor.  We made sure that we and the taxi driver had our passports since you have to go through checkpoints for both countries driving each way.  We did not really have enough time in Kotor, because the driver said that there could be a backup getting back into Croatia.

The drive between the two towns along the bay and through the mountains is pretty too.  We had time to walk around the walled city that day, and we knew we had to return in the future.

These are some of the pictures from our first visit.

One of the many towns lining the bay.

This is the best picture I have of the artificial island and the church of Our Lady of the Rocks.

There was a market outside one of the gates that sold produce and flowers.  The women manning the booths got very upset with DH when he tried to take pictures of the market.  I got these on our way to meet the taxi when we were not in the market.

In 2019,  on b2b2b cruises on Veendam, we were in Kotor twice.  July 12, we took the open air Ho-Ho along the bay to Perast and Risan.  We only got off in Risan since that was a stop and the turn around point of the tour.  Our guide took us the Roman Baths to see the mosaics.

A couple of pictures leaving Kotor.

We were back in Kotor on August 8, and this time we were anchored a pretty good ways out of town.  The ship used local tenders for the passengers, and ship tenders for the crew who were leaving and boarding that day.

This picture was taken from the tender.

Thank you for the hump day (And Thanksgiving Eve) report, Rich.  I like Cranberries, prefer brewed coffee to Espresso, and haven't seen a jukebox in years.  I like the Einstein quote but have never been to Montenegro.  I'll pass on the meal.  My alternative is Classic Caesar Salad, Chef Rudi's Caribbean Jerk Chicken Breast, and Strawberry Pavlova, my likely choices on MS Eurodam November 13 if I had not been in Canaletto that night.  Few if any food photos for a while as I have not been on a BHB while taking food photos from late November to late December.

Today’s care list:

Virginia Walmart victims
Sharon recovering from bronchitis
Kazu severe foot injury
Ottahand7 Brother in rehab with poor prognosis
Terri’s next door neighbor Joanne with stroke and complications
Jazzyv digestive issues
Those afecteed by Java earthquake
Cruisin Terri continuing autoimmune flareup
From the rotation:
Cruising-along niece awaiting a kidney
Marshhawk’s friend Jesse with throat cancer and poor attitude
Luvteaching DH recovering from fall and facing dimentia
Status of St. Louis Sal (7/1) and JAM37 (7/7)

Celebrations and Shoutouts:

Good morning, everyone!

It is supposed to be a brilliantly sunny day here in mid-Michigan.  I'm heading out to pick up the turkey and then making the stuffing and an apple caramel crumb pie.  @Seasick Sailor I am going to make that brussels sprout/cauliflower dish.  It sounds so good!

Today's meal will end our run on butternut squash.  At least till next year.  But, there are many good options for a side dish for tomorrow's table for those of us looking to freshen up the offerings a bit.  This meal can be made with butternut squash, acorn squash, delicata squash, sweet potatoes, or even carrots.

This next one is a great vegan addition to the menu.  It is a sheet pan recipe so only one pan to wash!   https://thefamilyfoodkitchen.com/delicata-squash-salad/

This last one is an adaption of the first one by America's Test Kitchen.  I enjoyed the special meals ATK did on the Koningsdam before that partnership ended.  https://www.mercurynews.com/2021/09/27/recipe-americas-test-kitchens-roasted-butternut-squash-salad-with-creamy-tahini-dressing/

Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily!  I'll put some cranberries in a salad today, will pass on the espresso, and love going into places that still have a jukebox in the corner.  We need both clever and wise people.

A busy day ahead - DS called last night to say they would be coming for an overnight visit this weekend.  They found a new vehicle that will tow the trailer a friend gave them, so will be bringing the boys for a quick stay while they do the paperwork.  They'll leave Calgary after work on Friday night, drive the 6+ hours, go to the dealership on Saturday and head home on Sunday so they can be back at work on Monday.  We'll have beds ready for them when they arrive, and enjoy as many kisses, hugs and giggles as we can until they have to leave on Sunday.  They don't have any close friends or relatives in Calgary that they can leave the boys with for 2 days, so they'll pack them up in the car in their jammies and make the trip.  Ah, youth!

@kazuI'm glad to hear your luggage is finally within striking distance of your house; I can't imagine they'd be delivering it at that time, though!  BTW, great memes today!

You can tell it's Thanksgiving with all the squash recipes happening lately!  Unfortunately, it's not something either of us grew up with, so it's not a favourite, so will be taking a pass on it.  DH has asked for Salisbury steak, so I've got the ground beef thawing and we'll be enjoying it with mashed potatoes and coleslaw at the kitchen table tonight.  And wine.

Prayers for those who are hurting, cheers to all who have celebrations going on.  Stay safe, be well.

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

Gerry

Good morning to all

It is a cloudy day here on Hilton Head.

I received a good report from the Mayo Clinic so all is well.  The best part was that I was able to move up my appointment and we were back home by the time of my original appointment.

I don’t know in the end if that was good or bad.

We ended up helping pack up various closets in the house. That really tired me out after driving three hours.

Then we packed some more yesterday.

Today we are not driving anywhere.  We are staying put.  Have other work to do here.

Thank you to Rich for the Daily and Fleet Report.

Interesting collection of days.  Like cranberries and espresso and was a jukebox fan back in the day.

I’ll take a pass on the meal and libations.

Like the quote.

I have been to Kotor twice.  i will see if I can find some photos.

Thank you Roy, for the lists.

You can take Joanne off the cares list.  She is home and recovering.  I am not sure of her overall status.  I was only able to speak very quickly with the aide.

I have increased the prednisone dosage and it has helped with the flare up.  Hopefully I can reduce the dosage next week.

Jim and I plan to go to a restaurant for Thanksgiving.  We do not have any family.  If I were home, I would have cooked a dinner but it is difficult in a rental with less than optimal cookware and utensils.

I hope everyone who is celebrating Thanksgiving has a wonderful day no matter how and with whom you celebrate.  We all have something to be grateful for.

Stay safe and God Bless,

Terri

Thanks for the Daily Report.

Sorry I have been absent, however Suzi and I tested positive for covid. We are both feeling pretty bad, but hopefully the meds will start helping soon. We wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving.

So sorry to hear this 😢 I hope you are both feeling much better very soon and that the meds will help  🙏🏻

We return to our family’s home today. This has been a wonderful and beautiful side trip. Yesterday, we visited Hearst Castle. What a beautiful setting, architectural wonder and collection of art and decorated for the holidays.  We had a late lunch which  was enough we all waived dinner watched another sunset and everyone retired to bed early.

May all celebrating Thanksgiving have a wonderful and safe holiday.
