One of the biggest cruise industry events, Seatrade Cruise Global, is quickly approaching. At the event, cruise line CEOs sit side by side to discuss all things cruising. This year’s panel of esteemed CEOs includes the President & CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, Jason Liberty.

And he wants to hear from Cruise Critic members.

Do you have a question that you’d love to ask Mr. Liberty? Are you wondering what’s ahead for onboard dining and entertainment? Have thoughts on how Royal Caribbean Group can leverage technology to improve the cruise experience? Do you have questions about the cruise line’s sustainability efforts? We want to hear from you.

Share your questions below, and your question might be one asked of Mr. Liberty at this year’s event.

Part 1 - Cruise Compass - While the need to reduce waste is on everyone's minds, I want to know the future of the Daily? We can still get them by request (thank you) but I imagine this will soon be phased out. Many of us like the daily sheet; I personally feel more connected to the cruise when we can review tomorrow's details the night before. It just feels more personal than the App.

With that said, have you though about adding a "PDF" repo into the App for the sailing, and maybe give a download link? If I could view my daily as a PDF in the app, that would be great! And then we can download the PDF to keep as a reminder of all the wonderful things we did!

It's what I do with Dailies now. I receive them in my stateroom, bring them home, scan them to PDF, then store them with my other Dailies. I reference them when I need to lookup a captain's name, or who performed on a ship 5 years ago. Love it!

Part 2 - Royal App - Simple enough, when filtering we just need more options. I can filter on "Activities" or "Entertainment" but how about the option to filter on TWO types at the same time? I can look at "Activities" and "Entertainment" at the same time to see when performances are going to be as well as things like trivia.

Also in the app, can they give us an option to "hide" repeat events? e.g. on my last cruise they had the Virtual reality experience every 15 minutes all day long. Therefore, this activity showed up 4 times per hour, filling up the app planner with things I wasn't interested in, making it harder to find things I was interested in.

I would be interested in a method to improve communication between Shoreside, Shipside, Port Operations. Including feedback to their guests. Twice now we have disembarked to get on our transfer back to the airport with our special needs daughter. Cold misty weather in Bayonne (Adventure) and Seattle (Ovation). Shoreside tells us its booked. Guest Services tells us its booked. We get off the ship and leave the terminal and not only is it not there, it is not coming. Was never ordered. Security will not let us back into the terminal to keep our daughter warm while we figure out a solution. I have no way of contacting the concierge or Guest Services to help us! I would like to see an escort be a ship's officer (Guest Relations?) who can walk us all the way out until it is verified we have a seat on an accessible shuttle. This communication disconnect is where we have experienced much ball-dropping on Royal's part.

I felt the new menu needs to reviewed and tweaked.  I was very disappointed in the menu selections on my VOS cruise the end of January. Promenade Cafe had little to offer besides substandard pizza.  Windjammer was hit or miss (mainly miss).  MDR choices were substandard.
On land, if you don’t like a restaurant, you are not trapped like you are on a ship. I must say Chops was amazing, as usual, however I can get the same meal in the Chicago market for the same price or lower.
I have another cruise planned in June.  I hope some changes will be made by then. (Btw I could care less about the lobster -I am allergic, however it is a hot topic.)

Could you please include more perks for junior class suites. You guys are changing everything and making it harder for us to cruise.

Could you provide perks for health care professionals and others in law enforcement or firefighter? They all work so hard through these rough times.

Would it be possible to have a variety of flavored waters in beverage dispensers for those who cannot drink sodas?

Hi

First off we realize the App is not going away and that is fine..but some of us choose to disconnect while on "vacation" and don't want anything to do with our phones.

1. Maintain option to receive paper Compass. It is far easier to read than app--and appears to be more accurate.

2. Maintain paper menus for Main Dining Room-classier, far easier to read--and again I don't have to carry my phone. Not to mention it is so sad to see people sitting across from each other at a dinner table staring at their phones instead of actually talking to each other..we don't need more reasons to disconnect from each other.

3. Consistent enforcement at all US ports of boarding times. Will reduce lines and frustration. If it isn't your time to board yet-have a stand by line. Those who are on time with their boarding time should never have to wait behind others who feel the rules never apply to them.

4. More Broadway shows! Love them!

5. Don't ever give up on "smaller" ships such as Radiance class! We love them too. There is a place for the latest, greatest and biggest ships as well as the classic size ships which can go to more ports than the bigger ships do.

6. Another app suggestion-return the ability to change your loyalty preferences and bed preference (king size vs 2 separate beds) online either on PC or App. Will save you money from having people take up your workers time on phone for simple issue, and save your customers time.

7. Commitment to not cancel cruises less than a year out to charter the ship. Even though we are compensated supposedly-often the compensation is minimal and the inconvenience of re-arranging plans cannot be overcome.

8. Have the ability to call Guest Services onboard the ship and have the phone answered and the problem addressed promptly. We realize staffing for this would be very difficult. Perhaps the phones could automatically re-route to a very knowledgable phone center? They could fix most issues-such as improper charges, report maint issues, follow up on issues, etc...it would free up your onboard team.

Could the Classic items on the dinner menu which are available every night be reinstated? It allows people who prefer simple menu items, like the always available salmon, to dine with the other people in their group and still have their classic dish to choose,.

I love leaving out of Bayonne, NJ, but the 7- or 8-night itinerary going south is basically stale.  Any chance of getting rid of Nassau and replace it with either St Thomas or St Marteen.

Also, bring back the Savory Bites in the MDR, on request.🤣

Why is a pizza pictured on Giovanni's lunch reservation page for all ships? I have only seen that great pizza in Giovanni's Italian Kitchen and know better but it is misleading. (I love GIK)

Will you ever bring back Hot Rock to the non hibachi Isumi's? It is still mentioned on some of the ship's descriptions but I have not found it on any current ship menus. Thank you.

Are there any plans to up RC's poolside dining game? We love RC, but I must say Carnival has you beat in this area. They have BlueIguana, Guy's Burgers, Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ, Big Chicken, Street Eats, Seaside Shack just to name a few. They have even more, but you get my point. The sheer number of options is superior to what is offered on RC. And the food is great too!

Is all this free or for a extra charge ? I agree it would be nice to a have a free venue on all ships on the pool deck. Even Celebrity has the Mast Grill

All of these venues are free except for the Seafood Shack.  These are mainly lunch venues.  Some are open until 5 or 6.

Do you plan on having any addition cruises that go to other ports besides western Caribbean from Galveston.  I am guessing they will need to be longer than 7 or 8 nights to go to other ports.  I was on the 10 night Radiance cruise that departed on 1/30/2023 and loved the different ports (Progresso, Colon, Cartagena) as well as the sea days in between ports.  It was a full cruise, so it seems you have the market available.  Hopefully the other longer cruises are selling well also and this will be an option.  Thank you.
