Thank you for today's reports.

A couple of interesting days.

Excellent quote that a lot of people need to look at themselves then do as today's quote says.

I hope everyone is safe, well and happy.

Good morning from Santarém Brazil. Very strange days, love the quote, pass on the meal and drink, yes to wine and never been to the port.

They are preparing the tenders presently. We will have a free bus to Fishermen’s Square - about 4km from the dock. I have no excursions booked for this port but I want to see the fish market and I was worried about the walk. We will see how this turns out.

Last night was dressy night and  since they had escargot on the menu, I went. Pleasant table mates and the food was delicious. I am still stuffed. I did have the duck. Here was the menu. Oh the also had a masquerade party in the crows nest that I did not participate in. We also were given a gift of a shot glass. Towel animals nightly with chocolate on dressy night.

Bugs were everywhere last night! I have been using iNaturalist to identify the different bugs around. A grasshopper hitched a ride with me to my cabin last night!

Thoughts for all and cheers for those celebrating!

Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning.  Happy Hump Day.  Thanks for the Report.

Lots of thunder and lightning overnight. It's raining.   It's currently 12°C (54°F) but we've got a fast freeze warning and the temperature is supposed to plummet to -7°C (19°F) this afternoon.  And we've got a snow squall watch.  Ugh   I should have stayed in bed.

Three interesting days.

I like the quote.

I'll pass on the meal, we had chili last night.  Not sure about the drink or wine.

I've never been to today's port.

Prayers for everyone who needs them.   I hope there are lots of celebrations, no matter how small.

Have a good day.  Stay safe.

Good morning friends!  Today it is 61F this early A.M.  Later on we will experience a windy, cloudy day with afternoon thunderstorms and a high of 77.  I'll turn on more lights and continue with my cross stitched Christmas stocking.  Making progress though I do spend less time here.  Sorry!!

Thank you Jacqui @kazu and Roy @rafinmd for posting the Fleet Report and Daily as well as the fleet location maps for Rich @richwmn.  I always find it fun to see a HAL ship sitting in the middle of Brazil!  Those are some unique days to recognize today and thanks to Graham @grapau27 for the explanations.  Great quote, nice menu suggestion, not sure what the drink is all about, but would love to try the Rosé.  A good day for the Republican party and DNA but I do remember the impact of the MASH finale.  Thank you Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope, and Ann @cat shepard for the reports today on the food and beverages.

Prayers were said before hopping out of bed and onto the treadmill.  First for my family (DB and DGD) and my friends especially for Bob's family.  Then for the people of Israel and Ukraine, hostages not yet released and the troops on bases and ships in the Middle East.  Prayers for the family of Laken Riley as I try not to imagine my two DGD's going for a run like she did, in broad daylight.  Thank you Vanessa @JazzyV for placing her on the Care list so we are reminded of her in our prayers.  And finally I prayed for our family here on the Daily and included all your names.  Wishing you all improvement in your situations.  🙏 A salute to all here cruising or preparing to cruise, and for all with special events to celebrate.  Happy 54th anniversary Eva @superoma!  Ann @cat shepard sending my good wishes to your DSis and I hope she has a complete and quick recovery.  I want to say HI to our friend Joy @Seasick Sailor and hope you are reading the Daily to see we miss you!  Pennie @Nickelpenny I'm glad you are enjoying the Amazon.  Did you see where they cover the air intakes up on the deck above the pool?  Trying to prevent the bugs from gumming up the works as the old saying goes.  We have many of those shot glasses from Princess cruise line because they gave them away at the wine tastings.  A nice souvenir.  Bruce @aliaschief I'm glad you're enjoying the side trip to Ayres Rock but am glad you have a face net to wear over your hat.  What an unpleasant aspect of the area!  Thank you for all the photos!  And more thanks to Vanessa @JazzyV for getting up and posting the Care and Celebration lists even while trying to catch up on her sleep.  So glad you are feeling less pain now!

The port today is Vava u, Tonga.  This was previously the port on May 28, 2021 and March 10, 2023.  I have not been there before but wouldn't mind at all!  Here are the links for your convenience.

Sending our prayers and good wishes for all experiencing wildfires in the Texas Panhandle and Oklahoma area.  Stay safe there!  And hope the rest of you have a wonderful Wednesday!🤞

Good morning though it’s 9:08 PM Wednesday here. Just got back from tonight’s sunset then dinner at resort. One more sunrise to witness which means a 4:15 AM wake-up. We also did over 4.00 miles of walking today. Today’s temp got as high as 42C and the bugs were swarming.

One more day and we will be taking a direct Quanta’s flight back to Sydney. Tried to set up a quick meet with Rich as Volendam is in port but our previous arrangements to meet our Aussie friends will most likely not see it happen.

Off to bed. Yesterday’s Daily had some late photos posted and here are some of today’s Kata Jgura was the featured rock formation of the day. Hike up a rocky incline into Kata Jgura’s gorge. Been busy now need sleep with early awakening tomorrow. Pictures of sunrise and sunset and hiking into the gorge. Good night from the outback. Bruce

@superoma Happy anniversary! 🍾

We are in Huntsville Alabama.  It is 68 degrees but will drop into the 40s later.  We roll north at 8 and hope to miss Nashville rush hour as it is 120 miles up the road.  Carmel Indiana is my goal.  John's is South Bend.  Depends on whether he wants to keep driving that far and if the casino he wants to reach will comp us a room.  If we make that we are only 2 hours from home.  Have a nice day! Just a quick Good Morning.

Thank you to Jacqui, Vanessa, et al for the Daily and Fleet Report.

We are driving home from Jacksonville this morning.

Decided to stay the night after X-rays were ordered for my right shoulder.  Could not get them until 3:30pm yesterday afternoon.  Too late to start home at that hour.

Time to get moving.  Shower and pack and get out of here. Want to make a stop at Costco.

If I get the opportunity I will post after we get home.

Happy Hump Day

God Bless,

Terri

Good morning, everyone!

The wind is blowing and we have a high wind alert that lasts all day.  We fell from a high yesterday of 73F to a current temp of 31F and it will colder as the day goes on.  The heat is currently working.  I want to see what happens during this cold snap.  I would almost think it was  frozen pipe, but they don't run along outside walls to get to the dining room.  It is all indoors.  The pipes from The Beast leading out weren't warm either, so I do think it was a valve malfunction that has corrected itself for the time being.  We shall see.  The only thing on my agenda today is going to the gym.  Then I need to get back to all my unresolved stuff from last week.

@superoma  Eva, Happy Anniversary!   I loved the wedding picture.

Today's meal is a vegetarian version of chili, but you can add ground meat in for the carnivores. Chili is always good on a blustery, cold day like today.   This first one is a three bean medley that is low fat and lower calorie and carb than most chilis.  https://www.eatingwell.com/recipe/263231/bean-medley-chili/

beanmedleychili1.thumb.jpg.aead0dabf4b532d03d5703d1a6168b35.jpg

Next we have a six bean chili.  I like the addition of the avocado.  https://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/six-bean-chili/

beanmedleychili2.thumb.jpg.6339ab5cdcfcde0357d2c5df94e1e07a.jpg

This last one has six different kinds of beans, but it also has the meat for the carnivores.  https://www.therusticwife.com/single-post/2016-1-10-quick-easy-6-bean-chili

Hoping for good news on @cat shepard Ann's DS.  Rejoicing in some relief for @JazzyV Vanessa, and wishing @ottahand7 a safe trip to Carmel or South Bend.

Wishing you all a wonderful day!

I'm not really taken with any of the special days. The chili would be OK, the drink probably not. For a Finger Lakes rosé, the unusual 2022 Blaufränkisch rosé from Ravines Wine Cellars.

I'm not sure what to expect in the way of weather. Last night our regional cable news was saying 61° by noon, then rapidly falling temperatures, very high winds, and torrential rain, with ten inches of snow tomorrow. The Weather Channel agreed about the temperature but said less rain and snow than that. The National Weather Service said even less snow, probably none.

I'm still coughing, but much less, and the appearance of my nose continues to improve.

I'm struggling with this week's class assignment, which is to write about an example of local environmental distress, discuss proposed solutions, and evaluate them according to an ethics template. My area is not experiencing environmental distress right now. I will probably write about the increase in extremely heavy rain and the potential for flooding in places, such as my house in 2018, that had never experienced it before.

BUT: last week I also had a hard time, with a letter to a grandchild (hypothetical in my case) to be received when the grandchild is the age that I am now. The professor's response: "Brilliant work, Paul. This is one of the best of this paper I've received in many years of assigning it."
