First thing you do after boarding the ship?

Have a cold beer at the Atrium Bar. Platinum, so drop off carryons at the cabin. If it's a new ship for me explore and take pics before the masses are onboard. Get something to eat from the buffet. Relax awaiting Muster Drill. Always good to be at sea again.

Get a drink , then have lunch. Last time on the Vista it was at Pigs and Anchor before the crowd found it.

Ordered drinks and got in line for food.

Hi Beerman,

My husband and I will be on the Vista in October and this sounds like a good plan. Did you order your drinks from Ocean Plaza or Red Frog Pub, or someplace else? I'm thinking beer and bbq will hit the spot!

Not sure where the waiters got our drinks from, it could have been Red Frog. We just headed straight to P&A , got a table, ordered drinks then got in food line.

Worked out perfect. Definitely beat the rush.

Wow ... I am a rube. Waiters bringing drinks never occurred to me! This will only be my second cruise, so there's a lot I don't know.

Sit, relax, enjoy and be pampered. Helps to tip a dollar or two to waiters, they will take GOOD  care of you.😂😂

Pick the Fun Times daily paper, check dining reservations and table and head up to lido for lunch.

FYI, it also now on the free Hub App, you can activate as soon as you board

In april on the Breeze, we boarded asap with FTTF, dropped bags off at room, hit pig & anchor and guys burgers while having drinks.  Played mini golf and ropes course.  Went to muster and sail away on the front deck of our floor.

Always bought FTTF until we became Platinum.  Got a drink in the Atrium, then headed for our cabin to check it out.  If it wasn't ready yet, no big deal.  Just dropped off our carry-ons and put cash and passports in safe.  Then head to casino bar where they let you smoke while refueling.  (No comments please.)  Then grab a Guy's burger, then back to cabin to unpack and wait for muster on the balcony.  Then brother and I go down to Guest Services to request balcony divider be opened.

Lido for food... lugging around all our carry-on crap!

Once we woofed down a Guys burger, an iguana taco or two, and a plateful of hot buffet food, we grab new dinner plates and make pigs of ourselves with the fancy desserts.

Then, a stroll through the sliding glass doors to grab a Frog Island Iced Tea.

*Now* we feel like we’re on vacation.

Drop bags off at room, then introduce ourselves to the cabin steward (sometimes we have to track him down) but most of the time he's in the vicinity. Usually we give him a 20dollar tip when we see him/her. We just like giving them a tip, we dont ever need anything special, its just something we always do.They very much appreciate that. Then go up on deck and begin vacationing!!

Never ever FTTF for us. We always spend a minimum of one night in the port. We love to relax at that pool/spend time in the city until the 1:30 time hits, our room is ready, and all of the craziness has died down.

Usually it's either Blue Iguana or Guy's, which ever sounds better at that moment. Sure I might have to wait in line for 5 minutes extra. It is well worth it once I take that first bite. After that, we will usually explore and/or unpack.

Surprisingly, I don't get a drink right away. I usually wait until after my clothes are put away and the muster drill is complete. Then it is all fun from there.

We go eat, then we go and do the spa tour. By then staterooms are usually ready and we just unpack till it’s time for the muster drill. I actually don’t go to the sailaway party I prefer to stand out on the open deck at the front and watch us move away. It’s quiet and peaceful there.

This was, word for word, exactly what we did on our Vista cruise 2 weeks ago (except for the platinum part, of course! Still a couple cruises away from that one!)

**EDIT** I missed the part about smoking in the casino bar- yeah we definitely skip that one!
