We were asked many moons ago in 2 ports in France as far back as 2018 I think it was. May have been 2016.

she will rinse soak and repeat as this lowers the content as well .

Thank you,  I already avoid tomatoes because since I had a stomach problem 12 years ago tomatoes seem to upset my stomach, I don't eat a lot of potatoes except the occasional baked one because I prefer green and root vegetables  I will try the rinsing and soaking though, anything to reduce the potassium.  I do like a few chips if we are eating out but they are a rarity in our house.

My task for tomorrow is to investigate what foods to eat to reduce potassium.

They did that to us  in La Rochelle on our very first cruise in 2012! It was the only port we were asked to show them.

Glad all was good at the hospital Josy.

 

Unfortunately for my mum at her check up her heart rate was bouncing around again but too quickly now. They are putting her back on bisoporol to lower her heart rate. Check up again in October

My friend used her on line banking to show available funds in addition to cash she had and that was acceptable.

 

Helpful information though Snow Hill as it would obviously depend on how strictly the regulations are applied by each officer checking.

What amount of resources must you justify?

You must have an insurance certificate covering all medical and hospital expenses for which you may be liable for the duration of your stay in France, as well as medical repatriation costs and expenses in the event of death.

If you are staying in a hotel, you will need to provide a hotel booking as well as a minimum amount per day of stay that differs depending on the Schengen country visited.

For France, this amount is:

• 65 euros per day of stay in the case of presentation of a hotel booking;
• 120 euros per day in the case of non-presentation of a hotel booking;
• In the case of a partial hotel booking: 65 euros per day for the period covered by the booking and 120 euros per day for the remainder of the stay.

Sorry to hear this Michelle.

I hope the Bisoprolol Beta blocker helps your lovely mam.

After my heart attack 4 and a half years ago I take 2.5mg Bisoprolol in the morning before food and it has helped keep my heart rate under 60bpm.

Good  Evening again all, time for this evenings menu's below, 

Today we went to Bicton Botanical Gardens ( not our 1st. visit), hada wander around, took some more pictures & then a short drive  to Budleigh Salterton ( DW likes to wander the shops) me I sit on the front and or wander about taking pics.,     Tonight we had  chicken starter & bream, followed by the hake mains,the  black berry bavour & the  chocolate walnut  tart.

We have been being going to France every year since 2006 and have never been asked for financial evidence or where we were staying. Three times we have flown, the rest we have driven, mostly going via Eurotunnel, once by ferry Dover To Calais and once Portsmouth to Saint Malo. We also made a substitute port stop at Cherbourg in 2018 on a cruise after Amsterdam, no checking do then either. All this course was pre leaving EU in 2020, maybe different on our next trip though.

We have been asked for passports in La Rochelle. Funnily enough not when we were entering the country but when we were leaving. I think they are just awkward!

Its so quiet here in the Wide Awake Club. Went to bed at 12 got up again after 45 minutes.

 

The other night my  app said I had slept for 2 hrs 18 minutes.  Don't want too many of those.

 

I just wish I could go to bed and sleep like normal people.  I don't worry, its just my brain wont stop racing around😏

You are not alone, I have been up since 2am after about 3 hours sleep.

It may or may not be a comfort to Indiana, but  when I was younger I lay awake for hours at night unable to go to sleep, churning stuff around in my head.  Now, I usually  go to sleep quickly but sometimes (not always now) wake after three hours and can't get back to sleep.  It is actually a better situation, IMO, and I think is somewhat to do with getting old!  So maybe old age has a few advantages.

Good morning all, I can’t believe it’s still so cold back home 🥶🥶 , been up since 7 this morning so a lay-in having my second cuppa on patio it’s currently 18* , and blue skies, we are taking the dog to the pamper parlour today to have a bath and her nails cut , they are extremely long and curling a bit and look painful so we are taking it upon ourselves to have it done , she’s never had a bath in 7 years, she goes in the sea now and again but that was over a year ago and she feels so dirty just stroking her with all this sand around so fingers crossed she likes it .

We have just booked some flights for next year to come out for 3 weeks because they are now doing flights from Bournemouth to fuerteventura starting next April on jet2 so I’m booking my hired car which is coming up at 322€ with jet2 15% bonus so that’s a brilliant deal so now this week I’m looking to book somewhere reasonable to stay .

House work day today as well bed changing and mopping floors then off to vets and we’re have lunch across from it in case they have a problem with the dog .

Michelle I hope your mum is getting better with the adjustment to her medication, we have to cut our dads in half and they are so small but they don’t do a lower dose , fingers crossed it all works better for her .

That is the dose I take, and did definitely slow my heart rate down and cut down on palpitations.
