The larger Land Cruiser seems to be the vehicle of choice for desert safaris in Dubai.

They WILL get stuck if you're not careful.  Nothing that a shovel and another Land Cruiser with a tow strap can't quickly fix.

Abercrombie and Kent uses Land Cruisers in Kenya. I asked why.
our guide said they last much longer.

That looks fantastic.

What kind of drink does Pauline have?

Thank you and thanks for the anniversary wishes earlier.

Pauline normally drinks Lime and Soda but we often share a bottle of Prosecco if we are dining out.

Graham.

Yup, I am back.   😄

Pictures of the new "digs" with happiness of clean convenience again.  All one floor living, new and modern.  Close to grocery..etc.  Looking at a couple of house for sale tomorrow.  3 bedroom, 2 full bath, nice deck.  Grilling fresh Halibut tonight with local grown summer squash.  Hoping Henri will let us do so in between rain drops.  😮

I posted earlier but it went poof. We lost power at 11:30 am and it just came back at 5:30.  Lots of leaves & small branches down in our yard, but thankfully nothing worse.  We have very hot weather coming Tuesday so I hope everyone else gets their power back by then.

So glad you're OK. Pfew !!

About losing power -- last week we were advised by the Electricity Company that they'll do "maintenance works" Thursday between 9am and 3pm. Advising is OK, they have to do it by law.

BUT, no electricity for 6 hours????

It is very hot here, and we usually stock meat and fish in our fridge's freezer, and we also have another small freezer too. It is common here.

Moreover, we just stocked meat for the High Holidays in 2 weeks time, when, for the 1st time in 2 years, we'll celebrate the New Year with our married son.

The Electricity Company doesn't compensate for spoiled food.... This is such a PITA and worries me, and then I'm reading that you hope that power will be restored in 2 days !!!

What happens to all the food???

Well, Henri has come and gone. No power at my house. Very typical of anytime the wind blows. National Grid needs to do some updating. They know the area is a weak spot. So I'm hanging out at my parent's house. Lost part of a tree in my yard but no house damage. I already chain sawed the tree to pieces and will take the rest of it down soon. No problems at my parent's house or the office. Both are further from the ocean than my house.

Back to work tomorrow.

Glad to hear you only had a down tree and it didnt hit your house.  Hope power is back on soon 😍

Just dropped off daughter and BF at the airport. It’s hard keeping up with a couple of 20 somethings. I’ve got 3 days to rest and recover (and practice) before a guys golf trip to Big Cedar Lodge in the Ozarks. There might be bourbon involved. Need something to blame the bad golf on.
