First off, TSOTD

I had to wear a bright color so Susan could find me easier. Today, we drove up to the Fall Festival at Peak N Peak ski resort in New York.

But first, we stopped for lunch along the way.  This part of the lunch they didn’t do too bad with.

I won’t show the picture of their Cuban sandwich special, unless you want to see what they thought one should look like on a hot dog bun. 🤷

The festival was crazy busy today.  Cars were parked both sides of the roadway, starting over a mile away.

After making our way from the spot we abandoned our car at the side of the road, refreshments were in order

I can confirm the hot fireball cider was tasty.  And, if anyone wonders what wine to pair with donuts, they have you covered.

There were thousands of people out to enjoy the festival, and we saw lots of Bills mafia shirts and Bills jerseys, since this isn’t that far from Buffalo.

And what festival isn’t complete without a giant canon to shoot pumpkins?

I know this video may only play on apple products, but it is the canon in operation

While Susan and one of her sisters went off to explore crafts, I explored the car show.  A few pictures from there

And, they even had a zip line running.  These are just some people we don’t know.

This looks like a fun place to go.

Still wonderful, I would love to live by the sea

Our nearest beach is about an hour and half away

The weather forecast is for one more week of autumn sunshine and then into bad weather and winter not far away.

Spent the weekend on the Thames.  Probably only one or two more trips out until we put the boat away for the winter.  Found out yesterday that both locks either side of our marina are going to be closed for work from 01nov till march so nowhere to go even if we get a mild winter

Might be "my English", but I was kind of expecting to see a whole pumpkin being shot.... not smoke.

So I went to my clever DH, who patiently explained that the pumpkin is pulverized already in the process of being shot....

I rest my case 😉

As we were boarding they said are tickets were not letting us board, please stand aside...... Not panic.  Another attendant started clicking on the computer...... Printed new tickets..... We are on board.  I will feel better when we are in the air.  Would be hard to cancel when we are in the air!

If you have the ability to pinch to zoom the video, the pumpkin stays whole until it hits the hillside by the target.  Or, here is a zoomed portion of the video and another I took. (I tried a conversion from mov to mp4 format to see if it would work on other devices)

I worked as an accountant at SWA for over 12 years, from 1997 to 2010. I went through 9/11 with SWA. It was an amazing place to work. I flew everywhere (for free) with them and have the best memories. The only reason I left was because I gave birth to our son and stayed home with him for 6 years.

It saddens me greatly to see how badly they are struggling this year. We flew on SWA to Pensacola in June and yep, our return flight was cancelled at the last minute. It’s a shame that’s still a huge issue, no doubt due to the vaccine mandate.

Fairly long segment in the news this morning. Over 2000 fligjts cancelled over the long weekend. SWA continues to blame ATC and the weather while others point out they were the only airline that had major issues.

The worst thing a company can do if they are not going to come clean with the public is come up with excuses that are easily refuted.

I am watching the start of the Boston Marathon and the commentators have been talking about how the Southwest cancellations and rebookings are effecting even some of the elite athletes.  Some of the wheelchair athletes were at a race yesterday and were coming in for todays race and ended up scrambling to try to get here for the early start today.  Rolling start for all runners should be starting pretty soon.  Hoping to see my godson pass the start line!

We are flying Jet Blue for our March 2022 cruise out of SJ. We've flown them before. No problems and our experience have been the same as yours. However earlier  this week I called them, "Jet Blew it" as our flights got changed and Emailed to me. Totally undoable as far as making the connection in JFK leaving and returning. Was on the phone over an hour getting new flights, seats and prepaid luggage transferred. Then the new invoice was Emailed to me but incorrect. My mistake as I hung up before I verified the changes. Looked like the agent sent me someone else's itinerary, but our names were on it (???). Called back and waited about 45 minutes for a call back. All is corrected now, so at the moment I will kindly refer to them as Jet Blue again.

Especially in today's Covid staff shortages, those hold times indeed are longer with less agents.  I had similar problems with Delta...one time on hold for over an hour just to correct their mistake.  Same situation.  And I even asked he Delta agent if I needed to transfer to my connecting flight by parachute, since the plane will leave before the first leg gets there.

She thanked me for the morning laugh...said she needed it. 😉

Went to dinner at a local oyster/seafood place. Food is just OK but there’s a nice outdoor area overlooking the intracoastal waterway with live music and nice sunset views.

That’s a very nice surprise.

I saw the Edge and waved. Wasn’t waving at anyone in particular but I was waving. I didn’t know you are on the aft.

I didn't know you were on the Odyssey at the same time as we were on the Edge. Would have been great to see you even from afar.

We have an aft balcony on deck 10.

Happy Thanksgiving, Canadian friends!!

Thank-you.

We have my sister in-law and family coming over for a swim around 1pm and then we head to Sharon’s for a delicious turkey dinner. The pool is 85 and this should be one of the last swims of the season. We are also celebrating our nephew’s 15 birthday today. Pics to come later.

Plus one there.   Does make them look pretty silly, doesn't it?  🐌

Today we are at sea.

I love sea days and lounging by the pool, etc etc etc.  Hope you are having great weather🧜‍♀️

Crappy day at Lbi.  Windy, rough seas and misty when I tried to go for a bike ride.   I would love to be basking in the sun.

Now I see the pumpkins! That’s a pretty solid cannon compared to the potato guns I’ve seen.
