@lenquixote66 We are watching Homicide New York. Thanks for mentioning it. My father was a NYPD homicide squad commander (many moons ago) in the Bronx, so it strikes home.

The reason I watched it was because a good friend of mine was a Sgt.in Manhattan South for many years and I was curious to see if he was mentioned. He was not.I had 7 friends who were with the NYPD .They were in Brooklyn ,Queens and Manhattan. Currently a very close friend of one of my son in laws is a LT.with the Port Authority Police Dept.

Day 2.  So after checking out of the hotel yesterday, we headed out to the Osaka Station to find the platform where our Nozomi - Japan’s super fastest bullet train will take us to Hiroshima.  We got reserved seats for the 9:02AM train so we had to make sure we get on the right car.  It’s 200 miles to Hiroshima and it took less than 1 1/2 hours from the Osaka Station to get to the Hiroshima Station (It was still rainy).  From there, we took a local train to get to the JR Miyajima Ferry to take us over to Miyajima.  The clouds were started to lift by now and we could see glimpse of blue sky.

Those oysters near the front in the shell look huge. Did you try some? How do food prices compare to here? Can you tell or with everything in japanese it's hard to figure out? Sleeping on the floor shhhh. I hope your back is ready for this. It's pretty.

DH wants to do a brand new 20km bushwalk that has just opened up in the Blue Mountains.  I read the link he sent me,  where it is suggested you do the walk in two stages with an overnight in beautiful Leura which sounds ideal.  Nope, DH wants to do the full 20km walk in one day.  Me “but I need to go slow for photos!” plus I love Leura…I’ll have to convince him.

That is pretty ambitious for a day hike, especially over uneven terrain.  I would spend a couple days, enjoying the scenery along the way, rather than rushing to finish in a day.

Mine is 33 days and still no cruise docs or luggage tags.

Is this normal?

All I can get so far are the set sail passes.  Maybe at 30 days out the rest will show up.

True but It’s because he wants to do an specific overnight hike next year that is a solid 20km each day (you can’t split it) and he wants to see if it’s do-able.

They want us to stay home the day of the eclipse. I think schools are closed too.

Just got through binging Netflix's The Gentlemen. I thought it was excellent. I always admired Guy Ritchie's work.

We then moved onto Netflix's 3 Body Problem which is a sci-fi thriller from the guys that brought you Game of Thrones. I am really liking this one. Deep and some amazing characters.

I highly recommend these two.

Seriously? 😄 And they say California is weird. LOL. When we had the almost full solar eclipse in 2017, everyone went to work and school, and we just paused our day and went out to look at it for a while. (with eclipse glasses) There was a lot of hype here, too. But it was just a regular day, with an event.

You can get photos, if you take them through the lense of the glasses. And yes, we usually do have fog in August.

Thanks.  3 body problem sounds like a better choice for me than the Lockerbie doco that DH just recommended to me.  Started watching the doco & then decided watching it 2 weeks before a 15hr long haul flight is not a good idea.
