When was your last cruise?.

Oceana Nov/Dec 2019; 35 nights Panama canal and Caribbean, it was almost a freebie when Oceana was pulled from the Middle East.

Our last cruise was in March this year on Saga's Spirit of Discovery going to the Canaries. Our last with P&O (and probably our last ever with them) was on Aurora's Xmas and New Year cruise last December/this January. We are keeping our eyes on a Med cruise next July with Saga, but I'll be very surprised if cruising as we know and love it will have returned by then. You won't get my wife and I (and many of the friends we have made while cruising agree with us) anywhere near a cruise ship until the virus dies out or is eradicated (both highly unlikely) or a vaccine has been proven to work.

7 nights in February.  Galapagos on Silver Galapagos.  Cost almost as much as the world cruise on Aurora in 2013! (Did include flights though).

Seven night cruise around Norway 1st week of June 2019 aboard the Azura. We should have been on the Oceana in the Med in May, who knows when or if we will cruise again.

Last November on Norwegian Epic. from Rome, 7 days around the Med. Really great cruise and the weather was good for November. Also had a couple of nights in Rome pre-cruise. Feels like a long time ago now 😞

Late nov 19/ dec 19 on queen Victoria to Spain and Portugal. The bay of biscay was very calm, and the weather so mild that even on our penultimate day we had lunch on the outside deck in just shirt sleeves.

 

our next cruise was booked pre covid for Sept 21, for our honeymoon. At present not even sure our wedding in Aug 21 will be going ahead let alone a holiday abroad.

Feb/Mar 2020 on Oceana to Canaries, got back on Mar 7th. Almost the last P&O cruise I think.

A week on Britannia in June 2019.  First time in a balcony and loved it.  Didn't have anything booked for 2020 but I don't book much in advance of sailing so would definitely have cruised at some point this year

Ours was the final cruise on Oceana which should have been to Spain and Portugal but we were turned away from Malaga when Spain closed its borders. With all other ports rapidly doing likewise the ship returned to Southampton early via an unscheduled stop in Gibraltar.  We docked on the Wednesday before lockdown and managed to get back home to our great relief. 
We had been dreading that we would have a reported case of Covid onboard and everyone would be quarantined on the ship.  Thankfully that didn’t happen and looking back now, we did at least have a holiday this year albeit not what we were expecting. It was our first experience with P&O and we loved Oceana despite her age.   We were very sad to learn that she had been sold.  
It means that we were the last passengers to cruise on her from Southampton.

We were on the same cruise, when we think back we were all lucky not to have covid on board. Lovely  cruise really enjoyed it, and they looked after us

How lucky we were in hindsight to have enjoyed the privilege of that final cruise.
It all feels so sad now doesn’t it?
Made worse by the fact that we won’t have the opportunity to sail on Oceana again. Little did we know at the time what lay ahead.
We often think of all the wonderful staff who served on board the ships and how devastating  this is for them and their families. They were all still smiling as we disembarked at Southampton on 18th March. They were truly amazing.

We were on Britannia in the Caribbean from 29 Feb to 14 March this year. It was the last P & O cruise there. The people who were due to be on the one following flew out but were told at dinner that night that they would be sailing straight back to Southampton after we disembarked. Since then had our Baltic cruise in June and our Canaries cruise on Iona next February  cancelled. We are booked on Azura in May going to the Eastern Med but think it will also be cancelled. Have booked September 21, same cruise with a slightly different itinerary. We hope that this will go ahead. Also booked Iona for Feb 22 going to the Canaries.

The last full Aurora cruise to Arctic Norway, ending around 10 March.

Last cruise was New Zealand and Australia East Coast with Princess in Nov / Dec 2019.

 

Was supposed to be on an Eastern Med Arcadia cruise a few weeks ago. 

 

Next cruise is booked on QM2 for 28 day TA and USA /  Canada next Sept 2021, we have 7 months before paying the balance so will see how the vaccine roll out goes and the regulations that are in place at the time are before paying up.

November 2019 MSC Bellissima from Civitavecchia to Dubai 18 nights in th eYacht Club - absolute bliss. Hopefully November 2021 we repeat the experience on MSC Virtuosa.

 

May 2022 on P&O Iona will have to try very hard to beat the above.

Our last cruise was Jan to April this year on Arcadia. On the plus side, we were one of the last passengers off a P&O ship before they stopped all cruising. On the down side, the last leg of the world cruise was 33 days at sea, with social distancing. Hopefully we will cruise again next year. Stay safe everyone.

Last one was 2 weeks to Spain & Portugal in January on Oceana - a birthday cruise. Glad I was able to sail on her one last time beofre she went.
