Regarding your wife being concerned, years ago George came in from working in the yard and yelled for me in a strange voice.  I walked to the room he was in…and he was prostrate on the floor…twitching.  I got him some water and a cold towel (he was now inside with AC) and called 911.  Shortly after he could sit up and said he was fine.  I replied he was going to the ER; that’s what insurance is for.  That’s what wives are for as well.  He’d had heat stroke.

Hope this won’t stop your two fisted drinking!

Well I feel stupid and NO I was not drunk. So because of the long drive I did not take my blood pressure medicine because it has a diuretic in it and did not want to have to go to the bathroom every 30 minutes. I also did not drink any water. So when I got up to go to the bathroom I got up too quickly felt dizzy and fell. I must have hit my head because I asked Linda where were we. So a trip to the ER for a Cat Scan, blood work, and shoulder x-ray. Needless to say everything looked good except to have a hairline fracture in my collarbone. So I guess slings are sexy looking on a cruise  ship. I feel stupid that it happened. Doc said make sure you take your meds.

I hope that you heal quickly Greg and enjoy the cruise.

that croissant looks like something of my dreams

That was the best Chocolate Croissant I’ve ever eaten. The fact that besides the chocolate on the inside white icing and chocolate was drizzled on top made this so incredible.

@Sea Dog

So no FlowRider this week? 😉

Just kidding, sorry to hear that you are starting off the cruise by getting hurt. Feel better and use the sling to your advantage. For example,  people letting you get on the elevator first, or going right to the front of the line at the crowded pool bar, etc. 🙂

I got a hand slapping from CC for a comment I made on a live thread that they felt was distracting from the actual purpose of the thread.

Welcome to the Club, I see more in your future. 😉 It happens to the best of us. 🙂

Classic Eggs Benedict. This was very good.

My biggest disappointment with cruising is the eggs Benedict.  The serving of Canadian bacon is just not thick enough.  Compare this picture with any taken on a cruise and you’ll see what I am talking about.

If anyone asks how I got injured I’ll say it happened in the war? Actually I wouldn’t do that as I respect veterans too much. But I’ll think of something.

Totally agree. I always get the Eggs Benedict in the MDR for breakfast. This was so much better. Thicker Canadian bacon and the poached egg had some runny yolk which I love. Hands down one of the best I’d ever eaten.

I always order eggs Benedict, sans sauce, for my first breakfast every cruise.  I also ask for a side of Canadian bacon to go with it so I can add to the typical thin piece you get.

If the yoke is not runny, I am sending it back!

Tried to walk off a little of that wonderful breakfast with a visit to the historic downtown area of Galveston. Be warned if you drive parking is very hard to come by without paying in person in a lot or by app. It took us awhile but we finally found one and downloaded the app, registered and paid $4.50 for two hours. A lot cheaper than the lots.

we found lots of fun shops.

I love upside down Christmas trees.

My kind of Santa. Most people ask what does Santa do after Christmas? I answer he goes on vacation at the beach. No one can stay at the North Pole all year long.

I highly recommend The Sunflower Cafe and Bakery.

I remember @TravelGirlinDallasBethany mentioned it as their favorite place.

We'll be in Galveston on Feb. 5 pre cruise and if timing is right, we'll try to be at Sunflower for a late lunch.

On another note. Here is a time lapse of 6 hours of driving in thirty seconds. It ends at a Buc-ee's in Texas where the Go Pro got hot sitting behind the windshield in the sun.

Greg a few questions.

How often did it take a photo, every 5 or 10 seconds etc?

Did you use more than one battery?

The time lapse was every 30 seconds due to the length of the drive. Most time lapse settings are around 5-10 seconds or if a short time lapse 3 seconds.

I figured it would have been a long time frame. It’s been a long time since I did one with a GoPro from a cruise balcony.

Another thing that makes this cruise different is that we are driving not flying.

Just starting to follow this, so wondering if you'll have a visit to Buc-ee's as part of the trip. 😁
