I am excited to see your review. DH and I are on Liberty in December (but out of FLL) and there aren't many reviews on Liberty.  That's great that you are able to snag so many points on this trip.  Nice!

Safe travels and have an amazing cruise!  Happy to follow along!

So we booked my retirement cruise last November in a Junior Suite. BAM a quick 28 points moving us to Platinum. Then several weeks ago on Symphony in a balcony for 16 points and BAM we are Emerald. So for this sailing my genius TA (Thank you KH) suggested going as solos. We got a great price for Linda in a Balcony and me across the hall in a double occupancy inside room. So after this cruise another 28 points and BAM we are Diamond and can play with the big boys.

Let me try to understand this.  If you each book solo, you each get double points and that total is added together with the points you already have.  For example, if we now have 325 points and would each book our own cabin for 7 nights, we would each get double points or 14 each with a total of 28 which would be added to the 325 we already have.  Is this right??

No you would get 14 added to the total.  The other person prob booked during the double points promo which ended sep 30 2021 (book by).  That's why they got 28.

When your accounts are linked only the highest point of either person is used

Eg. H - 70 + 14

       W - 80 + 14

Since W has 94 you both are considered at 94.

Stopped for gas in Oklahoma and they even have a Casino. Should I see if I can win my gas?

I’m going to do it !

Thanks to everyone for your fantastic comments on my Symphony review. You have encouraged me to take it one step further, a live review. We are going on Liberty of the Seas out from Galveston. I'll have more details on that later.

Since we focused on UDP on Symphony I decided on something different, the Main Dining Room. How does it compare? Is the food good? Can I get more than 1 entree. Inquiring minds want to know.

So with out further ado, It wouldn’t be a Sea Dog review without a hype video to get you all fired up.

Oh my, I'm following along and will be loving every minute.  I'm not sure I'll get much work done between you and @Ozark_Kid's review but I'm here for the ride!

So are you saying that your wife will get 14 points for her solo balcony and you will get 14 points for your solo balcony and they will add to each other's points total giving you both 28 points for this cruise?   I had no idea it worked that way if you were on the same cruise.

I asked same question, and it was explained to me in post #35

I read that i still do not see how they both get 14 points each and it is additive to both of them.  I can understand if one has more points than the other the one with the most would get 14, not 28, and both would then have the the highest number.

They booked during the double points promo.  Double points for the solo cabin, then double that, because of the promo.

But then why would they need two cabins?  That would be 28 points for a single cabin.  See why I am confused?  Also, I read hist post as this was a recent booking based on a recommendation from his TA now booked under the double points promo.

If they were in same cabin, they  would just get 14 points.........now they are getting 14 for EACH cabin.

It's 2 DIFFERENT booking numbers.........Points are awarded for each booking number........they have 2.  7 days x1point per day doubled is 14 per booking number for a total of 28 for the couple.

That's what I don't understand.  How do they each get 14 combined for 28 when it is on the same sailing.  14 would be applied to each of their accounts vice 28 applied to each.  So they would still have the same number of points.  Maybe Greg can explain once he gets home.

14 and 14 each as solos.

If on top of that it is a double points promo, then it is 28 each (14 x 2).
(Am  I right KH?)

Good for you Greg! That is an excellent move and a super excellent suggestion from your TA.🥂

Booking a double cabin as a solo gets you double points. Since this is a 7 day cruise they will each get 14 points. I assume they booked the cruise before the end of September 2021, which included double points at the time. Normally you only get 14 points for a solo but since it was booked when RCI had a double points promotion, they each get 28 points. As a side note, making Diamond or even Diamond Plus isn’t what it used to be because of this promotion, but things appear to be back to normal now.

I guess I am just thick.  The part I am missing is that if I book myself in a room on a cruise and I book my wife in another room on the same cruise.  We get points on both accounts for both rooms vice me getting points for my room and her getting points for her room?  for example, I book a Junior suite for 7 days cruise, I will be 14 points.  If my wife sails on the same cruise in a balcony cabin, she would get 7 points.  Does that mean we both would have 21 points added to our account (14 + 7)?
