Good morning.  Thanks for the Daily and Fleet Report.

It's rainy and cold this morning.  I think rain is colder than snow, but you don't have to shovel it.

Gazpacho is good, but I prefer hot soup in the winter.  I appreciate miners.  Like many, Disney was a happy part of my childhood.

I like the quote.

I'd love the meal, I think I have short ribs in the freezer - what a great suggestion!

The drink sounds like summer, hope the wine is tasty.

We've been to Norway, not sure about today's port, I'll have to look.

Prayers for everyone.  Cheers for all the celebrations.

Have a wonderful day.

Stay safe.

THIS is a hoot.....I belong to MyHeritage and they offered a free photo feature...I had to download 10 photos of myself (had to even go back to 2015 to find that many)...and they arrange them in what you would look like back in history.....this is my Saxon image.........😅

A few weeks ago...I booked 3 weeks at a university dorm (London School of Economics) during their long spring break in April.  I had intended on booking the whole month...but the last week wasn't available....which I thought was odd...as I was one of the first to make reservations....

Well....now I know why........the Coronation is May 6th...........

I planned to extend my stay another 2 weeks and travel to other parts of the UK...including Scotland and Wales.....now I'm wondering about the availability of lodging and if the whole of the UK will be crushingly full....does anyone have a clue.......????

Thank you for the Tuesday report, Rich.  Miner's lives are both difficult and dangerous but their services are vital.  Walt Disney was a real influence on our culture.  I love Gazpacho, especially as it was served on a BHB.  The quote is very interesting, I think I agree with most of it, but a lot to digest.  I've only been to Norway on the Elegant Explorer, but not to Stravamger.  The meal sounds nice.  My alternative is Spaghetti, Sauteed Veal Piccata, and Tiramisu, my first dinner on Prinsendam's new Canaletto on December 6, 2013.

Today’s care list:

Tana with pneumonia hoping for results from new antibiotic
Smitty34877 waiting for hip replacement
Quartzite Cruiser and StLouisCruisers losing neighbors
Otahand7 DB back in hospital but rehab continuing
From the rotation:
Granhm upcoming appointments December 12 and 13
Status of St. Louis Sal (7/1) and JAM37 (7/7)
HAL Sailer Sister in Law with aggressive cancer therapy
Cruisin Terri leak damage

Celebrations and Shoutouts:

Welcome home aliaschief
Quartzite Cruizer DH doing great at home
5 days for Seasick Sailor (Rotterdam 12/11 to 1/25/23)
4 days for Cruisin Terri (Insignia 12/10 to 12/28)
Lady Hudson (Enchantment OTS,  to 12/9), RedbeckBob (Nieuw Statendam to 12/10),   Dobiemom (Discovery Princess  to 12/10), Mister67 (Nieuw Amsterdam to 12/11) SusiekIslandGirl (Island Princess to 12/12)  StLouisCruiser  and Summer Slope (Volendam  to 12/17) at sea
Cunnorl (Noordam to 1/2/23),  Damcruiser (Nieuw Statendam  to 1/14/23), and  Horizon Chaser1957 (Zaandam to 12/20; Zuiderdam 12/22 to 5/12/23) at sea

Good morning friends!  We are out of the Amazon River and heading East and then South in the Atlantic Ocean to reach Icoaraci (Belem), Brazil.  That will be our port tomorrow.  Thank you Rich @richwmnfor posting the Daily today and Roy for your Care and Celebration lists.  Prayers for everyone and cheers to those celebrating especially on a cruise.  DH likes gazpacho, his alma mater uses Miners as their school mascot.  I liked Walt Disney but not so happy with the direction the Disney corporation is going these days.  Meanwhile their prices keep going up, up, up!

Today's port of Stavanger is a favorite of mine.  It was last posted here on Aug. 12, 2021 and here is a link to that post for all who need to retrieve photos (like me!).

We have been to Stavanger three times, twice on Prinsendam and once on Crown Princess.  It's a beautiful place with much to see.  Our second time there in 2016 was on The Best Norway Cruise Ever!  Captain D. D. was at the helm.  The weather was beautiful and we were able to take a cruise of Lysefjord with Rodne Fjord Cruise.  You can do that with your cruise line or purchase your tickets online for a lot less.

First I would like to show you what the lovely homes in Old Stavanger look like.  They are adjacent to the harbor where the ships dock.  I took photos of all the beautiful doorways with the flowers at their peak, and used those photos to make a wall calendar the following year, with my Shutterfly account.  Everyone I gave one to loved it.

Good afternoon.

40°F and raining here.

Thank Rich for today's daily reports.

Thank you Roy for the updated lists with my inclusion.

Our area of England was a big coal mining and shipbuilding area.

Several of Pauline's mams brothers were miner's.

We have been going to Disney for 30 years in Orlando and Paris.

Food sounds nice.

Today's quote is good.

Sending prayers 🙏 for everyone on Roy's care list.

I hope everyone has a safe and nice day.

Graham.

Thanks, Rich, for today's quote and for a reminder of Robert Fulghum's book. It is a worthy read.

One of my favorite quotes from the book is: "Don't believe everything you think."

Good morning Daily-ites.

It's barely 6 am and it's already 65 outside going to 74. Crazy Texas weather.

After my dental appointment this afternoon my Mahjongg girls are taking my sweet husband and me to dinner. Busy next few days with game night, couples pedi's and lunch, a social committee meeting and a Christmas party. Then yippee!

Prayers for our Daily friends and family. Roy I hope your new meds are working for you. Prayers for Tana, Terri, Jacqui, and Graham and all needing support today.

Sending blessings to all my Daily friends.

Thank you for today’s Report & Daily, Rich! Another beauty of a day. Just a few clouds along the coast.

Roy, glad to read you are still seeing improvement. @smitty34877 Terry, glad to read that Tana is doing a bit better, @ottahand7 Nancy, how wonderful that your DB is able to move to oral meds! I know that would be a huge morale booster for me! @ger_77 Gerry, finished your amazing video. What an amazing gift to the people of your region, Province, and Country!  The video segments of the Fall foliage brought back great memories of my years in New England and the Mid-Atlantic. Thank you for sharing it.

I try a new class at the gym. Designed for strong, older, adults. It is a major schedule change for Bindi and me, so I hope she deals with it well. She is getting ornery in her old age. Aren’t we all?

Prayers for all who need our support. Cheers to all who are celebrating! Stay well everyone!

Brittan Vineyards 2018 Estate Chardonnay (McMinnville) Willamette Valley

Ahhh, the aroma of “pea tendrils”…. Have any of you ever sniffed a pea tendril? Be honest.
This Chardonnay actually sounds nice. Not too oaky. All released vintages share similar excellent ratings. It is available from several online distributors with prices starting at $35.95.

Winemaker Notes

The nose of this 2018 Chardonnay, the first vintage sourced exclusively from the estate, draws you in with a stylish flintiness and aromas of sweet Meyer lemon, pea tendrils, and a hint of honeysuckle. Scents of Asian pear carry through to the palate, mingling with lemon curd, yellow peach, and brioche. This sleek, taut, acid driven wine evolves in the glass and will continue to develop with cellaring.

WE94 Wine Enthusiast

This is the first estate-grown Chardonnay from Robert Brittan, and as you’d expect from this master winemaker, it’s a doozy. The influence of 15% new French oak is felt but not overwhelming, and the clean apple, peach and citrus fruit bursts open with exhilarating freshness. There’s a whiff of flint also, and a seam of honeysuckle. This clearly has long-term aging potential. Drink through 2032.

W&S91 Wine & Spirits

Robert Brittan’s Estate Chardonnay is a paradox, with a nutty, lemon-frosting scent that makes the wine read sweet, as do the candy apple flavors. But the texture is remarkably taut and lean, while its sliced apple notes are held by a firm phenolic frame. Give it six months to resolve a bit.

Good Morning Everyone, thanks for the daily fleet report.  I like short ribs but not the polenta, I’d have them with rice instead.  Today’s drink is a winner when on a BHB.

Today we are having a free home energy audit.  They will come and see where improvements can be made in saving energy.  Should be interesting.

Ashlee thanks everyone for her birthday wishes.  Today she is getting a spa day.  The groomer comes to the house and will brush her out, clip her fur and nails and give her a dry bath.  She’ll not be happy at the start but when it’s done she prances around showing off her new look.

I hope everyone has a good day today.

thanks for our Tuesday Daily, Rich

Great collection of days.  Love Gazpacho & miners deserve a day with their difficult work.  I will celebrate Walt Disney any day (the man not the park).  He brought so much joy to so many.

Love the Fulghum quote.  It’s wonderful.  Assuming all goes well, I’ll be in Stavenger in May next year.

A very busy day for me with a multitude of errands including  my hair.  I will really be challenging my poor foot and will take the cane to help it out.  The errands have to be done and since I am going out anyways….

A very strange December here - like November.  Temperatures are well above our normal for this time of the year so instead of snow we have more rain in the forecast.  That will all change next week as the serious cold and snow storms move in.  Hopefully they hold off for my flight & I will be in San Diego when they arrive 🤞

@StLouisCruisersthank you for the comments and recommendation for the Rodne tour in Stavenger.  I’ve been trying to decide if I should do this or not - you made up my mind 👍

@cat shepardthat wine sounds good - especially where it’s not too oaky 👍

Prayers for everyone on the Care list and those that need them and a 🥂 to those on the Celebratory / Shout Out list.

Good morning to all,

I don’t know what happened yesterday.  I tried to write a few times but always got interrupted.  Finally I was so tired that I just went to bed at 9 pm.

I am “hoping” that some work begins on our house today.  I do know that painting will begin on Dec. 12.  But there is much to do before that.

Thank you to @richwmnRich for the Daily and Fleet report.

I like the days.  I like Gazpacho and respect the work of Miners.  I enjoy going to Disney Parks, but they have made it such an expensive deal.  Walt had a wonderful imagination and shared that with the world.

I like the quote.

I will skip the meal and libations. We are eating leftover rotisserie chicken tonight.  Last dinner here for a while (Yippee!)

I have not been to Stavenger but our cruise next summer will take us there.  Will be happy to see all the photos of those who have them to share.

Thank you to @rafinmdRoy for the lists.  I appreciate being included.  Prayers for all on the list—especially @smitty34877as you await a hip replacement and also for Tana.

@grapau27 prayers for your medical issues.

Cheers for those who are celebrating and cruising.

Today is another busy day.  I have a hairdresser appointment at noon and want to stop at our house and pick up the mail.  Also to see if there is any action.  Then back here to finish up our packing.

We will be out of here tomorrow and not see this dump until December 28.  i really am looking forward to just having some time to rest.  Hopefully coming back to find some progress on our house.

Time for breakfast.

Have a good day everyone.

God Bless,

Terri

A few weeks ago...I booked 3 weeks at a university dorm (London School of Economics) during their long spring break in April.  I had intended on booking the whole month...but the last week wasn't available....which I thought was odd...as I was one of the first to make reservations....

Well....now I know why........the Coronation is May 6th...........

I planned to extend my stay another 2 weeks and travel to other parts of the UK...including Scotland and Wales.....now I'm wondering about the availability of lodging and if the whole of the UK will be crushingly full....does anyone have a clue.......????

What a great idea. My mother used to do that, but in the US. Then she would take courses at the University.

Good morning, everyone.

We are looking at temps in the low 40s here in mid-Michigan with rain creeping in late this afternoon.  This morning my brother and I are renting a u-haul and going up to my sister's rental and bringing back some things.  Most important is the bed for the guest room.  We may have guests over Christmas and want to make sure everyone has a place to sleep.  There is a sofa sleeper in the living room, but that is a last resort.

@kazu I've done the Rodne tour in Stavanger as well and it is well worth the effort.  The day we did it was rainy and cold, but I still forced myself out to see the sights.

Today's meal looks like a good one for a cold night.  Like @Crazy For Cats Jake, I would trade out the polenta, but for riced cauliflower or some other vegetable.  Our first recipe comes from Williams Sonoma, so it is bound to be good!   https://www.williams-sonoma.com/recipe/braised-short-ribs-with-creamy-polenta.html

861728122_shortribsandpolenta1.jpg.00e74f49a58b7fa42a139bb87d7fa485.jpg

This next one looks easy enough and produces a wonderful, mouth watering meal.   https://familystylefood.com/simplest-red-wine-braised-beef-short-ribs-creamy-polenta/

This one from the Food Network adds some pizzaz to the short ribs.  Leave out the red pepper flakes if you don't like heat.  I do!   https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/spicy-braised-short-ribs-with-polenta-9383225

Wishing you all a wonderful day.   @Cruising-along hope you are truly rounding the corner and will be back posting in no time.

Good morning everyone. Dreary day here but going up not 60 with rain. When I was a teenager I was captain of my color war team in summer camp. Our theme that year was Disney. So many happy memories. He made many children very happy.

Waiting to see today’s recipe. I’m off to the clubhouse in the rain to play rummy cube. I learned how last week and it’s good for the brain.

Stay safe everyone,

Carol

I will be staying at Passfield Hall, 1-7 Endsleigh Place...where I spent 3 weeks in 2017.  Even tho I was doing genealogical research at the libraries and archives....I loved meeting and visiting with the other traveler's staying there every morning for our full English breakfast....it was a great way to start the day....🙂
