@dani negreanu Dani I’m really at a loss for words for all you’re dealing with. Others have said it all, so I’ll just let you know that you and your family are often in my thoughts and always in my prayers.

+1 , thinking  of you Dani and your DH and thinking and hoping for you too John 🙏 @Ozark_Kid

@dani negreanu

I cannot even begin to fathom what you are going through.  But know our family is praying for you and all your family and friends.

@A&L_Ont

Congratulations to Owen.  How exciting that must have been.  Thanks for sharing the video.

@Ozark_Kid

Where to begin......When faced with health concerns in the past I have always thought for me it was grim and dim. I am a worrier.  And that in itself is a hard ticket to be.

-I will  be praying for good health and happy days ahead for you and whatever will be just know, I have a great listening skill.  As well as I am sure as your family here on CC.  Keep us updated.

Take care.

All my love in thoughts and prayers

Sue

Last night was the final playoff game of the season for Owen and his team. They have a rough spell in January and February but ended the season with 9 wins and a tie.

The game last night was the second game of a best of 3 series.  Owen’s team won the first game 5-1 on Saturday, with Owen getting a goal. Last night they were down 2-1 but ended up tying it in the third. They got the go ahead goal with less than 4 minutes left. Both games were physical, with one of their players getting a 5 minute penalty and a 3 game suspension on Saturday in game one. In last night’s game 1 player from each of the teams got a 5 minute penalty and a 3 suspension for fighting. With about 30 seconds left another of their players was thrown out of the game for what I’ll call bad decisions.  We know their coach from soccer, as he was one of Owen’s coaches, and he said this particular kid is a hot head.

With about 15 seconds left the puck was deep in our end for a face off. Their goalie was pulled so it was 6 on 5. Our team won the face off and Owen was gone with the puck. Our team scored with less than a second on the clock and Owen fed the puck to one of his good friends, who got a hat trick last night. 3 goals in a game, his best game of the season.

Owen is 21 and always the last of the ice.

Owen with his friend, with the player of the game hat on.😃

Doesn't both teams shake hands at the end of the series at center ice? Like the way most playoff series end?

Little disappointed I didn't see that. Part of good sportsmanship.

Yes, it was a slot machine with clowns racing, etc.   So far his total winnings are over $6,000.

Congratulations on your husbands winning!  If he and @Lionesss are ever in the casino at the same time, they could bankrupt the ship!

And if they are ever on the ship at the same time, I'm sitting in between them, hoping some of that luck rubs off on me. 😃

Happy Birthday to Eric🎂

Tomorrow is the third anniversary of this thread as you posted a few days ago.Since it is not likely that CC will pipe in music my suggestion is that at a designated time taking in consideration the time difference from those not living in the US we pour a drink of our favorite beverage and do a Toast to Dani for starting this great tread .

We used to use a steamer a lot...mostly for vegetables.  We had a fairly cheap countertop model...less than $50.  We used it so much that we needed to replace it every year or so.  When we remodeled our kitchen in Cincinnati, we were looking at appliances at a distributor showroom and Micheline saw a Wolf in-counter steamer.  It got hard piped in, both filling and draining, which would have been very convenient.  I thought the drain idea was very cool.  Micheline thought the price was $250 and was ready to pounce on that in our new kitchen design.  She missed a zero though and the actual price was $2500.  We could buy a new "throw away" countertop model every 3 months for 10 years and still spend less money. 😁

Our daughter had a Wolf steamer oven built into the island when they designed their kitchen. I don’t know why it’s great, but she said they use it constantly.
Their only microwave is in a box in the garage for when we house sit.
She said the steamer oven is well worth the money.

I thought it was contracted by being close to someone in a confined space with water droplets(breathing), not a simple fist bump with hockey gloves on.

I mean really during the game they are in closer contact, grabbing, holding each other than a fist bump hand shake.

Year before last there was no fist bumps or hand shakes allowed.  Obviously contact was allowed, but unnecessary contact was not. Just the rules that were implemented and had to be followed.

@dani negreanu

Dani, I am so sorry that you have to worry about your country.
Even through the Cold War, assassination of our President and 9/11,

I never had to worry about the future of my country.
Times have changed.
I guess for all of us around the world.
It is frightening to see the government’s pendulum swing radically in one direction. With no way to know if it will ever moderate.
Hang in there. Your little country has been David against Goliath many times.
Different scenario this time, but just keep on keeping on, and things will even out.
We have to believe that.
I hope DH is continuing to improve and put that pain behind him.

At this level of boys hockey in Canada all hand shakes happen between the kids before the game starts.  They meet at centre ice and orderly shake hands.  The boys then skate past the opposing bench and shake the coaches hands.  After the game the coaches walk to centre ice and shake.

The kids do not shake at the end for a reason, especially when more often then not there are only 2 refs.  This way they avoid bad situations becoming worse, thanks to emotions boiling over and getting the best of the them from events during the game. It happens this way for a reason.  This game for example there were three players thrown out for penalties, and there are rougher games.

Now knowing this, you should be happy to see is Owen took his time to shake hands with the all their coaches, ours coaches and fist bumping the refs at the end. He has good sportsmanship when there are others out there that do not have it.

What you should find disappointing is the one team we played 4 times this year whose kids refused to shake hands at the start and their coaches didn’t at the end.  They were not our favourite team for a multitude of reasons.

I just performed at the GRAND OPENING of a new theater in town with my Ukulele group! One of the anchors from NH Chronicle joined us (unbeknownst to us), and Mayor Donchess cut the ribbon!

Are they going to feature it on NH Chronicle?  I will keep an eye out on WMUR.  Facility looks beautiful.
