Mimi, we are all so very fortunate to have found this thread and to have shared so much with our friends on here.   We're all rooting for you.  🙏

I've talked to my Neurologist about my fear of having a stroke, like my Mom.  She had 2 strokes, macular degeneration which stole her sight, and mild dementia.  The dr assured me I was doing everything right, our genes aren't the only things that effect our health.🤞  My eye surgeon told me there aren't any signs of macular degeneration, so there's that....

I surely relate to that!

We no longer have cable, but our daughter pays for Prime Video with the CBS channel due to Survivor being broadcast on that station.  We have never missed a Season.

I can't watch Below Deck, since I wouldn't know where to find it on our Roku.🤷‍♀️

I think we all know what the decision will be😉

Sound advice!

Having a real tree has always been an important priority for Jim.  I grew up with an artificial tree, so a real tree has been my pleasure for the past 50 years of our marriage.  We had 10 foot ceilings, so Jim always went all-out to get the biggest, tallest tree.  They were all so beautiful.  Since moving to this house with lower ceilings, it's been an adjustment in picking the right height tree.  We leave for Florida just before New Years, so you can imagine how this has become a challenge to get everything "Christmas" put away.  I'm so ready to get an artificial tree (maybe even with the lights attached), but we'll see.  I mean, there's nothing like the enchanting smell of a real tree.  There's also nothing like the clean-up of needles as the tree is taken out of the living room...

Sue, thank you for your Service in such an important and vital part in saving people's lives on a daily basis.  God Bless you, and everyone in the medical field!❤️

Okay, time for me to learn how to close our Koi Pond.  It's always been Jim's job, but he'll now direct me to do the parts that he can't, due to his knee surgery.  Have a great morning, everyone!

@Sunshine...Debbie, you have a great day for traveling!

We are home - boohoo but loved seeing my kitties.     Sparky is giving me the cold shoulder but Eva has been following me around as we bring stuff in from the cars.

It's nice to be home but always sad we leave the shore house.

How are you doing with the Koi Pond close out?   My neighbor has one and she cleans it and prepares it for winter herself every year, I'm sure you will do fine😍

I have been running the heat at least once a day.  It has just been too damp.

When I was very young we moved to Marlborough Mass.  One thing I remember about living there was how cold it was in the winter.  It was also where my love for lobster started.

Tomorrow will be my last day at work. It doesn't seem real. I find myself getting very emotional talking to the people I love and respect for more than 38 years.

Today I finish editing some last minute projects including a piece for our Monday Night Football Special Chiefs vs Giants. The piece looks back at the last time the Chiefs played the Giants. It was the first NFL football game played after 911 in Kansas City. It was a very emotional moment in sports history. The other is the final political commentary piece that I help produce and edit with my longtime political reporter Michael Mahoney who is the best reporter I've worked with. A true journalist and man of integrity. The commentary is about listening to different views and not just your tribe. I hope people listen.

Today first finish the noon show editing. Then my boss is taking me out to lunch and then tomorrow one last noon show and a send off party that will no doubt have me crying.

Life is good!

Congrats Greg!  Make sure someone is taking pics during the send off party.  You will enjoy them later.  For me it’s the people I miss the most but thankful we stay in contact.  Being an auditor I traveled to various locations.  One of the last cities I audited held a retirement party for me.  They made a huge cake that looked like a cruise ship.  That is a big indication we knew each other well!  The funny thing was when the time came for me to go my district was having a hard time with training new auditors and an overwhelming work load.  I ended up agreeing to stick around a few more months.  Not tempted at all to go back now.

Enjoy.  Also the cruise will be here before you know it.

I found an interesting new YouTube Channel called Super Yacht Captain:

Super Yacht Captain - YouTube

The name pretty much says it all.  It's a vlog from a guy who is the captain of a super yacht (called AWOL) that is often chartered by wealthy people.  It's not like Below Deck in that there are no guests in any of his videos and no drama amongst crew members.  It's just behind the scenes stuff of running a super yacht.  The first video that I saw was about loading AWOL onto a super yacht transport boat to take it from the Med to the Caribbean.  They are crossing the Atlantic right now and he's posting new videos about the crossing.  I've now also watched several older videos about things like preparing the boat for guests and provisioning the boat in port.  Interesting stuff to me.

Micheline then got a call from her "nurse navigator" while driving home.  I'd never heard of that term before but she is Micheline's go to person for any needs...kind of like a concierge.  She gave her direct line phone number so that Micheline does not need to work her way through a phone tree.  Overall, we are very impressed.

It's so exciting being this close!  Enjoy an Old Fashioned (or whatever your beverage of choice) tomorrow.  You've earned it.  Then do nothing for a while (except of course for your cruise).  Give yourself some time to destress.  It took about 3 hours this morning to drive to Jacksonville and back for Micheline's appointment.  Normally, I'd be fidgety about it taking that long, feeling like I could be doing something else with the time that I was in the waiting room.  Now...who cares.  I have lots of time. 😁

Wow that's great for Micheline. What a great concept.

Thank you for your advice and I will heed that. I really want to do nothing till January 2nd. Then it will time to start on projects. Priorities are 1)Cruise 2)Christmas decorating3)Thanksgiving (first one off in over 38 years)and finally Christmas which is my favorite holiday.

@Sea Dog Wishing you a wonderful final day at work tomorrow.  I imagine tears will be shed but only happy ones.  Cheers to you 🍾!

Thanks Deb. I had a wonderful lunch with my boss. We discussed how important it is for companies to treat their employee's as family. I believe when you work with people who you love and respect you can achieve great things. Tomorrow will be bittersweet. I wear my heart on my sleeve so there will be lot's of tears all around.

I came home last night and could smell the heat on.  DH decided it was ok, it is almost November.

Glad you made it home safely, and back with your kitties, who seem more than happy that you're home, especially Eva..it sounds like she's doing the "happy dance".

Koi pond is now winterized.  Jim actually did most of it..I did a lot of cleaning the filter, etc, with the hose..  wow, it gets so filthy!  You're right, Debbie..it's not as involved as I thought it would be!😁

We should all pitch in a buck or two and have @Lionesssgo buy us some tickets.  After winning $116 million together we could all go on a really nice cruise together.  Maybe on the new world cruise!

Sounds like a plan!

And it will get even better with all the cruises you will be taking.

Tomorrow will no doubt be filled with tears.  Just remember they will be tears of joy, of a career well lived. Of loving friends made along the way. Doesn't get much better than that.

Thank you Bonnie. One thing I look forward too as much as it hurts leaving and missing my friends who I work with everyday is connecting and making new friends with my fellow cruisers here. Thank you for adopting me and I hope to meet all of you someday on board.

Aloha!  We made it to Oahu, Hawaii on Tuesday. Weather has been beautiful.  It is not packed with tourists like before because international travel restrictions are still in place.  But there is still enough tourists from so many different states that it’s nice to see people enjoying their vacations.

This is our hotel for the next 9 days.

Our  first visit after hotel check-in was Costco for some stuff.  They had Custard Pie!  Same size as their Pumpkin Pie.  It is veerrry good.

@jagsfan Mimi - I’m sitting on the 7th floor of the MD Anderson Cancer Center right now while

Micheline has her initial appointment with her new Doctor. You may have already been here, but I’m very impressed. The people here are great…friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable.  And the building is beautiful. Great view of the St Johns River (even though it’s raining). I’m thinking of you and are even more confident now that you are in great hands!

I think we’re lucky to have MD Anderson here. I haven’t connected with them yet. I guess after my surgery on the 9th, they’ll contact me.
I hope Micheline has a good rapport with her new doctor. I don’t know any of them, but two  of my friends have said I will love MDA. I hope so. A good relationship with your medical staff  is half the battle.
Between MDA and Mayo, Jacksonville has some good health care. I’m glad y’all moved to this area, and hope Micheline gets the care she needs.
