Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Wow, it's like you read my mind and posted.

Music Hall is much better.

So much easier to get around for us on O class.  Might be because we are on O class more but I think it's layout is better.

We have not done a suite on Q but the combined ck/sl area is nice on O class. I liked doing breakfast and lunch there.

I think the Q was much better suited for the colder Alaska cruise.  I am assuming the closer we get to Vancouver this May, the cooler it will get and we will appreciate be on Ovation more than an O class.

My take on Castal Kitchen and the Suite Lounge on the Quantum Class (based on QN and OV) and Oasis Class (based on AL, OA, SY, and HM):

Coastal Kitchen on Q class is bigger (easier to get the times you want and more likelihood of eating dinner there if in a JS) and is on the starboard side of deck 14, right before the entrance to WJ.  That means that you get great views of the ocean from the Q class CK as opposed to mostly looking over the kids pool in O class.  There's no bar in the Q class CK so it takes a while to get drinks and we had to use a drink coupon when we ordered one, even if during happy hour (as opposed to O class where drinks at dinner have always been free for us).

The Suite Lounge on Q class is all the way aft on deck 12 (13 I think for Odyssey).  Hint: If you have a great TA (😉), he'll get a suite for you on deck 12 so you don't need to take any stairs.  It's a decent walk to get back there but once there, the entire back of the ship is floor to ceiling windows with great wake views.  Like CK though, there's no bar there and it takes a minute to get a drink.  The SL on O class has a bar right on the lounge, which means you can sit in a chair and be served by a waiter or sit at the bar and be served by the bartender.  We like to do both.

Individually, you could argue that both the Q class SL and CK are better based on size and better views.  Because of the walk back to the Q class SL, and then the walk from there to the CL, and the lack of a bar in the SL, we skipped the SL several times and had happy hour drinks elsewhere in the ship.  We prefer the "one stop shopping" of the combined O class SL/CK, especially if staying in a deck 17 cabin.  It's also very easy to get a beer/wine during the day and pick up bottles of water as needed on O class.

Love Singapore & Singapore airlines.  We only fly economy though so the lobster has not been on our menus.

I was thinking Cathay Pacific or Singapore Airlines, till I saw your reply to a previous post. Singapore Al is absolutely the BEST.

Even the names are interesting!

You might be interested this bird too -

Bush Stone -Curlew (also know as bush thick- knee).

It has an eerie cry at night that sounds like a woman screaming.

I’ve become fascinated by this bird since they featured in a couple of Australian crime fiction novels, one is  called The Curlew’s Eye.1D63127D-F8E0-4762-90A5-7B0C695B001D.thumb.jpeg.e6c06aba7eeaf6d0b521408adbdfa546.jpeg

My son and his fiancé had their civil marriage ceremony yesterday, 2/3/2023.  It wasn’t at the courthouse but at a business office set up as something like a Vegas chapel.  Here is where you bring you marriage license, you sign papers, they perform the ceremony and they file and send in the paperwork. The room was decorated very pretty but only ten people are allowed at a ceremony.  So just some immediate family members came.  Afterwards, we got some catered food to serve at my MIL’s house for 14 of us.  It was a very nice day and event.  I ordered a cake and made the silk flower cake topper for it and surprised them with it.  Their actual wedding and reception will be a destination wedding later this month in Mexico.

We started our trip to the ceremony very very early Thursday morning.

It does look a very pretty room and the cake topper is lovely. It needed a topper.  If I may ask, what city did they have it in? It looks like the central valley. ☺️

I just went outside. It feels cold. 😩

its been windy and cool here in So Flo all day. we are also under a high surf warning so you may be rocking and rolling as you approach PE tomorrow morning. I heard that only one ship made it into Nassau today (Disney Wish apparently). You might need a jacket tomorrow morning.

Glad you had a good time. I sailed on her shortly after her arrival in PE. Passenger count was only 30% so I do want want to sail again with more passengers to get a more normal "vibe". I did really enjoy the ship and ranked it equal with Allure. Can't beat Mama Mia.

Great that you got the ship model!

Just got a congratulations email from cc for reaching 3000.

According to cc, taking 3487 days - approx 9 years was worth the wait…

Just  a little bit to go before I catch up everyone else here 🤣

You just reminded me.... I saw a guy in the Schooner Bar wearing his C&A pin on the collar of his shirt this evening.  🤣

I can't remember the last time (if ever?) I saw someone wearing just the lapel pin (and on the collar???).  Plenty of Pinny name tags on these cruises, but the lower tier lapel pins???  🙄
