Protocols will always change. Carnivals changed at the port when passengers arrived and they had no idea till they started check in. Apparently the carnival edge adopted same covid testing as royal, vax and non vax. Cruisers didnt know until arrival at port.

Not carnival ..... The Edge belongs to Celebrity Cruise Line. Royal Carribean is the parent company to Celebrity. Carnival does not have these rules.

Is anyone excited to cruise on this forum? Every thread I read is dreary. We waited months for cruising to restart and its here. Get excited! I cant be the only one.

We leave on allure next sunday. First cruise since we were supposed to leave in march 2020. Our last actual cruise was march 2019. Im not letting covid rule my life. We are vaccinated and going to enjoy our cruise. Keep this thread on a positive note. Too many dreary alarmists posts on here. Lets cruise!

Maybe we're not reading the same forum? People here seem to have an unbridled enthusiasm to return to cruising. But let's also not kid ourselves. There are things that are outside our control that could happen and we need to account for. While we shouldn't cower in fear and give in to the "fear porn" news, we shouldn't simply dismiss and ignore the risks posed by the delta variant, which is way more infectious than the original COVID strand.

I'm excited to visit our two young grand daughters this weekend. I'm excited that my Toronto Blue Jays are back  playing baseball in Toronto. I'm excited that my Toronto Argos CFL football team will actually be playing football at all this year. I'm excited that all the family will be spending Thanksgiving together in October. But am I excited about going on a cruise?  🤔

Maybe as excited as visiting my dentist next month. 😧

Very excited! We did a trip to Great Wolf Lodge a few months ago and didn’t feel

like the masks stood in the way of us having a good time especially since most of the day was broken up with doing maskless activities (water stuff or eating). And my oldest is used to wearing a mask in school so I don’t think having to wear one on kids club will be a blip on her radar. Is it ideal? No but I’ll take masked up on vacation over unmasked at home any day 🤷‍♀️

I cannot say that we are as excited as we used to. There are some worries and also when you see some ports so depressed … it’s not great. However we need to learn how to adjust and have fun. We had terrific cruise on Celebrity Edge and cannot wait for the next. We are working from home, because we don’t have offices anymore … and seeing so many people having fun is so uplifting!

Leaving on the Allure on OCT 9, got an EM from rcl saying we need another test that gave us 4 days to get one. We got a rapid-result test for Friday Oct 6. That is really cutting it short, Way to RCL

I just saw this on the RC website for cruises leaving through August.  This is new this week??

When indoors, CDC guidelines require all guests 2 and older to wear masks unless they are actively eating or drinking. The CDC does make allowances for guests to remove their masks in venues and events dedicated to fully vaccinated parties.

RC is now requiring vaccinated passengers cruising out of FL to now wear a mask anytime outside of our room or when not actively eating/drinking?  That definitely changes our perspective.   I understand embarkation and disembarkation requiring masks.  Our traveling party had agreed it was probably safer on a ship where it's probably a higher vaccination rate than anywhere else we go. The testing and small amount of cases onboard don't bother me.  It's probably lower than most grocery stores.  But going back to masks required the majority of the time?  We got vaccinated for many reasons, and don't want to be lumped in with those that chose not to just because RC says so.

Yikes, not sure if an AI doesn't sound better than that.  More FCC I guess if it doesn't change.  I guess we have some a month or so to see how it goes (perhaps leaving Oct 31)

I think this has always been the case. Certain areas are vax only and maskless but indoor common areas are masked.

I can’t say I’m excited at all, have adventure in 40 days and honestly feel it’s probably 50/50 that it will even happen…I’ll be excited when I step foot on the ship

We were on Adventure a couple weeks ago and it was one of the best cruises we have ever been on!! You will have a great time and don’t have to worry as much as US sailings!
