Good morning, everyone.

It is a chilly start to a beautiful day here in mid-Michigan. The skies are a beautiful shade of blue!  I love it.  Today is a busy day.  I have to get the house cleaned, pick up Sue's birthday cake at the bakery, and be ready for the birthday party tonight.   Those of us living in town will be here celebrating.  DB of knee replacement fame feels he cannot negotiate the half flight of stairs in my house.  He did, however, ask to use the cane.  Wonders never cease.

I like lasagna and could go for either version, vegetarian or meaty.  I prefer the one with meat in it.  I remember way back when that Stauffer's had a vegetarian lasagna - spinach lasagna - that we gravitated to when we were on one of our diets.  It was actually pretty good.  We'll start with this one from Cookie and Kate that declares it is the best vegetarian lasagna.  https://cookieandkate.com/best-vegetable-lasagna-recipe/

vegetarianlasagna1.thumb.jpg.ace467b0775f1b1a104bbea92902ef45.jpg

This next recipe uses spinach and mushrooms.  I love mushrooms and bet they would add a lot to the dish.  https://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/vegetarian_spinach_and_mushroom_lasagna/

vegetarianlasagna2.jpg.9c40bd97ff2df39b654aeba48adf7fee.jpg

This next one is from Food Network. I probably won't make it as it has a tomato carrot sauce. I would prefer to not know if they are putting carrots in something.  But, you guys might like it. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/vegetarian-lasagna-3364145

vegetarianlasagna3.jpeg.744583ef13036f9bdad8e1279013fe91.jpeg

I don't want to leave this one out because it is another best vegetarian lasagna.  I think it might be pretty good because they roast the vegetables they put into it.  That would really ramp up the flavor.  https://www.loveandlemons.com/vegetarian-lasagna/

vegetarianlasagna4.thumb.jpg.beefaaeab0f4347decf6626d2afccc9a.jpg

Still thinking ho hum?  How about this vegetarian lasagna with a white sauce?  If you're going to take out the meat, you might as well really shake things up.  https://sweetlysplendid.com/vegetable-lasagna/

vegetarianlasagna5.thumb.jpg.71f42ca0f67d1313f4a5156af495f73c.jpg

We've got some great choices here!   If you really want the meat, just add it in.  I know I would.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day.

Good morning. Talking to some neighbors yesterday and one of them had seen a bear on the street the day our trash bin was upturned. So we now know the culprit. When I was in Australia I referred to a Fanny pack and was quickly reminded that it had another meaning over there. After being told their interpretation we never said it again!

Yesterday we went to Whole Foods as Sue needed some items she couldn’t get at our regular stores. While there we bought a beautiful USDA PRIME rib eye which we grilled and shared last night. Great steak. Expensive yes but we had a great meal and a

ton cheaper then if we had gone out to eat.

We have a cool front coming through and it’s currently 53 F.

Thanks for the reports and post. Have a safe and great weekend.
Bruce

Good morning. We had a sleet/snow mixture  falling but it is too warm  to last. I am the least handy person here and avoid tools.I am spoiled by DSIL who seems to be able to fix anything.

We love all types of lasagna here but I most often make a vegetarian  version to keep it simple.

I would never use a fanny pack but can see why they are useful. We have not been to the port but it looks beautiful.

One of the larger cities  around here has their St Patrick's  Day parade today. Our city will have it next week on the 18th.This is the first time for both cities since the pandemic. Oh my.We are only a few blocks from the parade route so will have to take a look.

Enjoy the day everyone

@superomaFor your watching needs, I suggest if you can, adding Britbox to your TV. Not only have we seen all the new season of Death In Paradise, we are watching Humphrey in After Paradise.  The downside is that all the Midsummer Murders seem to have disappeared.  Just best of.

@RMLincoln I am glad you had a great cruise, sorry to read that you are ill, and sorry to read of the death of your cousin.

Good morning all,

We enter our second day of rain- maybe the third. I’m loosing count. Today is expected to be the heaviest. Was supposed to go to a powwow today, but we postponed that to tomorrow.

We have joined the leak club. Late yesterday I was in the kitchen and felt a few drops of water. Then a good sprinkling. Looking up, the water was coming from a light fixture that was on. On investigating I found water trickling down the inside bathroom/attic wall on the second floor above. The water must have pooled and dumped, because it didn’t continue falling. I have the electric switch duct tapped off for now, and DH bought some Henrys at the Depot last night. He plans to go topside Sunday after the rain. We signed a contract a couple weeks ago to repaper that portion of the roof. We’re expecting to start in May. That’s how backed up they are.

@ger_77 I have a set of pink tools also. Years ago when I was taking woodworking, I found my toolbox empty ( except for a tool belt that fits a small waist.) 🥴 And all the other tools in the garage were missing. So I bought another set and a can of spray paint in the most horrible shade of pink, and the tools have not disappeared since.

@RMLincoln Hope you feel better soon. So sorry you are sick.

Most of the crepe paper flowers are done, so today I start working on implementing the centerpiece design for my friends upcoming tea.

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone from the Atlantic heading toward Barbados. I am skipping the gym and we will have a day savoring our sea day.  We both did a little pre-packing so when our bags return from storage we will have an easier time of it.  Today is crew show, I have never been to one so I am looking forward to that event.  Then Happy Hour in the Ocean Bar meeting up with Santa Richard.  I am going to write my TY notes for gratuities for our special bartender Catherine and the other guy whose name escapes me.   @summer slopeI am going to pull up that cocktail this afternoon and ask Catherine to make it for me with sugar free syrup.  Thank you for doing these every day.  MDR for dinner.

Sandi thanks for doing the Daily for us and Vanessa for the care reports.  Prayers for all on our list and the people of Ukraine.   Thanks to @cat shepard and @dfish for each days contributions!

Food porn from last night's Cellar Master Dinner.

Thanks, @summer slope, I had to look up crème de cassis.  Sounds like it would have a wonderful taste!  Love learning new things from the Dailyites

Good morning,

Another gray gloomy day in Kansas. It is hard to get motivated with weather like this. I had a dream last night I accidentally got my cast wet and they took it off early. Hmmm wishful thinking.

I loved my Fanny packs. So easy to wear and have both hands free and no strain on your neck. They are back in fashion but as a cross body bag.

I have gotten lazy with my lasagna and use ready made Rao’s sauce. Everyone seems to like it and a lot less work.

Have a great weekend everyone.

The porn food looks great! If it was truly porn food there would have served corn and potato chips. Why? Do you know what the potato chip said to the corn chip? What did it say RedneckBob?

I second the Britbox suggestion. There are so many interesting things to watch. We recently stopped Netflix’s but kept this one.

@RMLincoln, sorry you are sick and hope things improve soon.

@Lady Hudson I second that thought about going with the flow.  I think it was my first Grandeur cruise we had a lifeboat failure in Charleston and were severely delayed in reaching Port Canaveral.  I had my heart set on Kennedy Space Center but it was impossible,  We did dock in the terminal 1 area (I think then at one of the quonset huts) and decided to walk over to the little tower there,  It was not really a destination but interesting enough that I was glad to have seen something I wouldn't normally see,

@RMLincoln, I sure hope what you have is just a cold.  With regard to I95 the last couple of times in Florida I've taken the auto train and really liked it.

Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily.

I'll salute Johnny Appleseed. I like tools, have a lot, but don't worship them. I used to do woodworking and also a lot of DIY stuff. I used to use fanny packs, but nowadays use a small crossbody bag. I hear they're coming back in fashion, though. Good quote. I like meat in my lasagna, but don't eat it often. I'll pass on the drink and can't afford the wine.

I haven't been to Saint-Denis.

It's 30F and cloudy here today, after all day rain yesterday. Big St. Patrick's Day parade here in the downtown area; they will need to bundle up. I had issues again with my CPAP last night; I'll have to talk to someone on Monday. I'm due for a new one soon as this machine is almost 5 years old. I fell back asleep for another 2 hours after posting the Care List! Also due to the warmer temps this winter, allergies are starting early. I'll turn on my air cleaner in the bedroom I think. Laundry today, but I'll do bed linens tomorrow I think.

Don't forget to Spring forward tonight!

@StLouisCruisersThank you for starting up the FR/Daily today.

@RMLincoln I'm glad you made it home safely and had a good cruise. So sorry to hear you're sick and I hope it's not Covid. Prayers that your DH is able to have his surgery on time. Condolences on the loss of your cousin (hugs).

@rafinmd I hope your sleep isn't too disturbed by the time change.

@Lady Hudson I hope the cruise will be as good as it can be, with no other surprises!

@Cruzin Terri Sorry you're still having some pain. Can you take an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen? I'm glad you're pleased with the tiling in the BR and hope all the other stuff comes in this week. Prayers and hugs for you and DH as you celebrate Eugene's heavenly birthday.

@richwmn Thank you for preparing the info so the FR/Daily could keep going, and for the photos from Reunion.

@ger_77 Thank you for reminding us of that disaster in Japan; and I'm glad your family was spared.

@cunnorl Congrats to you and DS on your golf awards.

@dfish Thanks for the recipes and Happy Birthday to Sue!

@TiogaCruiser Sorry to hear about the leak! The flowers are lovely; you're very talented!

@ottahand7 Crew shows are usually great! Thanks for the food porn.

@Rowsby Enjoy stopping at the bakery, lol.

@kazu Thinking of you and I hope you're doing ok.

Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List.

Try to stay well everyone.

Good morning to all of you.  Somehow I never got to post yesterday.

I started to read yesterday’s posts and something distracted me and I was never able to return.  I will try to read the posts today.

Thank you to Sandi @StLouisCruisersfor the Daily and Fleet Report and your dedication to making sure it is accurate.  I always love your narrative afterwards.  it is so well put together.

Thank to Vanessa @JazzyVfor the Cares and Celebration list.  You seem to capture everyone’s situation, good and bad and otherwise.  Appreciate your dedication and organization to this.

You both jumped in to take over without even a blink of an eye.

@summer slope Dixie, I will pass on the drink and @cat shepard Ann, I will have to pass on the wine, not because I would not want to drink it, but I don’t think it fits my budget.

As for the meal, we will see what @dfish Debbie comes up with, but I like real lasagna.  So I think we will skip that too.

The days are interesting.  Hats off to Johnny Appleseed.  We all appreciate tools, especially when we need them. I usually do not use Fanny packs.  I have enough packed into that area.

St. Denis, Reunion Island is a favorite stop on World Cruises.  I have not been to that port.

As for an update. The right side of my upper back is still hurting.  The heating pad provides temporary relief and lying down helps too.  However, with all the work to be done around here, I cannot sit still for long.

The tiling is finished and looks lovely.  The vanity, toilet, mirrors and medicine cabinet should be arriving this week.  The glass for the shower door will be measured this week and installed as soon as it is ready. So hopefully, I will have a completed bathroom very soon.  This has been a long haul.

And expensive!

Today Jim and i will celebrate his DB’s birthday in heaven.  Eugene was a very special part of our lives for a very long time and we will remember him very fondly today and keep him in our prayers. If anyone is in heaven, it is Eugene.  There is a special place in heaven for those with special needs.

Happy Birthday Eugene.

We are also going to make a jaunt to Costco.  We used to have to go to either Charleston or Jacksonville, but now they have opened one in Pooler, GA, which is a 40 minute drive.  We have not been there since the flood and really need to replenish supplies.

Finally, we remember in prayer all those who are on the cares list and those around the world who are suffering.  Cheers to those celebrating and cruising.

We have sunshine today and it will be a great day.

Don’t forget to move your clocks ahead.

God Bless,

Terri

For Jim's brother Terri.

Oh no, made a big mistake, I think. The post should have read what did Mr. Potato Chip ask Miss Corn Chip? Answer: Are you Frito-Lay. 😀

But I guess in today’s time it doesn’t matter if it is her or she or him or he or him is a she or she is a him or he is a he or them are them. Have I covered it all.

I guess everyone has heard of the candy bar to celebrate women’s month.

The Her She bar from Hersey’s.
