Good afternoon dailyites from St Thomas. Thank you for the Daily Report.

Sorry for the late check-in, but we are on Atlantic time zone and had a tour at 8:15 am today.

Last night we ate at Canaletto's. Suzi had Scallops which was the Daily special and said they were excellent.  I had the Italian sausage pasta and it was very good.

Lost a little at the casino playing Texas holdem. Came back to the room with no ac running.  😫  called the concierge and found out it was a "temporary" issue. By the time it began working again, it was 79 in here. I didn't sleep well from the heat, so got up at 2:30.

We arrived at St Thomas right on time and parked in front of the NCL Sky in Havensight.

We all went to mountain top on our excursion and I actually had a virgin banana daiquiri.  It was refreshing and cold.  😀  I enjoy the lookout seeing several other islands.  The tour ended in Charlotte Amalie watching the ladies shop as I carried bags...

I hope everyone has a great day!

Good afternoon to all

Happy Sunday.

Thank you to Rich @richwmnfo the Fleet Report and Daily.

Thank you to Vanessa @JazzyVfor your dedication to the Cares and Celebration List.  i sure wish you leg pain would get better.  Prayers continue that you improve.

Thank you to Debbie @dfish, Ann @cat shepard and Dixie @summer slope for you dedication in keeping us fed and hydrated every day.

And thanks to Graham @grapau27 for Father David’s sermon and your explanation of Guy Fawkes night and the Gunpowder plot.

@smitty34877 I am thankful that Lou’s celebration of Life went well and you all were able to share many happy and probably a few, sad memories.  I am sure it brought some closure to you as well as other family members and friends.  You are all in my prayers.

i am overjoyed at Baby Murphy’s progress and prayers continue for her improvement.

Prayers for all on the cares list and cheers for those cruising and preparing to cruise.

DH still has a swollen knee.  He is taking his meds and tomorrow we can remove the compression wrap.  Hopefully the swelling will start to ease.

i ordered a new pair of slippers for him from Amazon.  You should see what he is wearing and I think that contributed to his fall.  They should arrive today as they are out for delivery.  He doesn’t know so it will be a surprise.

Things happen in strange ways.  While I have been quite upset about cancelling our trip to Italy and the subsequent cruise, it seems that the weather has been awful in both Florence and Rome and the seas have been quite rough.  Someone reported that their ship was unable to dock in Civitavecchia.  I am surprised at that.  Jim is telling me to rebook the land portion for the Spring.  However, I am waiting until I see how he does on this upcoming cruise.  That will tell the tale.  So far he is doing okay and wants to go.  If all goes well, I will book it.  However, I will do the same thing by booking refundable airfare and paying for hotels when we stay rather than at the time of booking.

i would really like to go, but don’t want a repeat of the last fiasco.  We will see.

Busy week.  i need to get the car serviced before we drive to Miami, have a lunch date on Wednesday and a Doc. Appt. On Friday.   That doesn’t leave too many more days.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

God Bless,

Terri

Unfortunately, I've heard word from my friend Susan who told me her DB Mark has passed away from his bile duct cancer.  He fought it for 4 years.  He lived in Florida and Susan is in Arizona so I am unsure of her plans to attend his funeral or memorial.  Of course she would want to.

In better news her DH Scott is going to be moved to a facility sometime this week only 10 miles from home!  Apparently he is doing pretty well though she didn't go into details.  Currently he is in Phoenix which is a 2 1/2 hour drive from their home, so this will be much better for them both.  She can stay at home instead of coming and going and spending many nights in a hotel.  So some bad news and some more encouraging news in one day.  Thank you all for your prayers for them.

Sandi. @StLouisCruisers, I am very sorry to hear about Susan’s brother Mark. My condolences to her and the family as well as you.

I was happy to hear that her husband Scott will be closer to her. I hope he continues to improve.

Thank you Terry.  Things look better for Scott now.

I wanted to mention to you how nice it was to hear of the comments made at Lou's remembrance yesterday.  The tears were inevitable.  I'm glad people recalled how kind he was and how much he influenced those who knew him.  You mentioned thinking a slide show of photos being too hard to see.  I know when at my DS Nancy's memorial service the children had a video playing on a screen of photos from beginning to end of her life.  So many happy days to celebrate!  But when I would see certain ones it would bring me to tears and I would have to stop and let them flow.  Everyone understood.  It helps to let it out I think.

@StLouisCruisers Certainly mixed news. So sorry for Susan and all of Mark's family and friends, after his brave fight against cancer. And good news that Scott will be moving close to home for his continued rehab.

@Cruzin Terri I hope Jim's knee continues to improve, so that he can walk without pain.

Thank you Vanessa.  She knows that many people have been praying for her, Scott and Mark and is so appreciative.

Good afternoon after a long day, but I got a lot accomplished, not exactly what I had intended to do, but it needed doing too.  It was a very nice day outside after the fog lifted.  I wound up working on emptying everything that does not stay with the motorhome out of the outside compartments.  We also worked on the other set of batteries that run the house part of the motorhome.  They still need a little more work, but the worst is done.  DH and I have two more compartments to work on outside.  One won't take too long, but the other is where he stores all the things in might need.  That will take some time to sort through, and get moved.  I've made a little head way on the inside, but I'll work on in over the next week.  At least, I got the old throw rugs that were beginning to fall apart out and set out for the trash tomorrow.  The remainder except for a few things we need to weed out, shouldn't be too difficult. Most will stay in the motorhome and be moved to the new one when we pick it up.  We'll probably stay one night while switching motorhomes.

Good morning. Another sunny day. Temp was 36F when dogs and I walked at what is now 6:30 in the morning. The high today will be in the 60's. When we came back from our walk, the back lawn area of our units looked like a pajama party. Evidently all the neighborhood dogs got their families up early. It was pretty funny with dogs scampering everywhere and sleepy looking people standing around. I was only fully clothed individual there. Evidently everyone else intended to sleep in.

Little else now. I just plod along. Yesterday's meetings really ate into the day and I got little done. Hopefully better working today.

Take care all.

Susan

Susan, I wish I could have seen all the dog parents' impromptu pajama party this morning.

Terri, I hope your DH's knee continues to improve, and that he talking about rebooking all or part of your canceled trip.  Things sometime work out for the best.  With the weather in Italy and other parts of Europe, it might not have been a good time to go.

Now it's time to pour a couple of glasses of Merlot, and then find the leftover lasagna and garlic bread in the freezer.  That and a small Caesar salad will be an easy dinner tonight.

Am very late today, thanks for the Fleet report and daily news.  Thanks for all the photos of today;s port.

@smitty34877   hope that the celebration of Lou's life brings you comfort.

This morning had an eye test, then we drove to the port to see the first cruise ship of the season.  From our table in the restaurant we watched the Royal Princess  glide into port,....timed our arrival for lunch perfectly.

This afternoon helped a neighbour who had a problem.

LOL Susan.  I’ve been down this road before.  I was lucky yesterday as Ivan put up with a late breakfast (to bring him to DST) so got his dinner at the proper time with no issue.

That’s a first.  Normally, I have move it 15 minutes for a few days.

I’m glad you had some good news on Scott to help balance the bad news, at least. 👍

Tried to watch an American football 🏈 game on the Lido big screen, but neither of the teams (Tampa Bay & (Houston) particularly interest me; chose a box of Bari Italian 🍕 20231105_175205.thumb.jpg.456acc7e546bdeec075eae9e5b5b94fc.jpg20231105_151957.thumb.jpg.4f4073fc25f316d51cf0f39548c4bf77.jpgover Chinese food, but it was still takeout; everyone should love their hair no matter the color, so I can certainly support red heads.

Pass on the meal and drink, would try the wine, not been to HI, so I offer you a sunset over Bari Italy as seen from my balcony.  20231105_164810.thumb.jpg.b0c02e4ad3accf8921c8de04d684c059.jpg20231105_174352.thumb.jpg.55b093fddcf43cf601690028d8c2f96e.jpg

Don't know what I think about the quote; the day in history was important.

All the walking has not miraculously restored feeling to my foot and I think DH is a bit tired of watching me wince as I pull myself up into the shuttles and rubbing my shoulder at night (result of all the said pulling), so I'm sure he's ready to see me spend some time back in actual PT vs HAL cruise version of PT🫣

It has definitely been worth it; we'll see how I feel about that next month when I do the TA. Cruising may be good for the soul, but don't think the same goes for shoulders...
