Good Morning from a warming  and cloudy day at the beach

   Currently 70degrees but expected to go to 79 today. A few more days of warm before going back to the 60s. I know. Nothing to complain about.

    I do enjoy a good belly laugh and I laugh often. It is good for you. Dont like beer, so I really dont pay much attention to the cans.  Pets are a game changer. They certainly play a big role in our lives.

      Have not been to todays port. Wiould have liked to but probably not.

      Thank you all for the very warm welcome to our latest addition, Ryan Charles.  Mom and baby both doing well. She will be in the hospital for a few days but is OK. 

     @dfish  Congratulations to Sue on her new grandbaby.

       @Cruising-along A very Happy Birthday to you. May you enjoy many more.

       @aliaschief   Hope you get into Easter Island today.  

         @RMLincoln   Hope your DH is doing better today.

        Playing golf this afternoon. Have a meeting on Saturday regarding the tournament in March.  We will see how that goes.

Good morning Dailyites from a foggy, rainy, day for Georgetown. 

 

We love our beautiful pup and the reason we were homesick the last week or two of our cruise. He loves his sweaters, a real fashion icon.

 

 

Beer cans on the other hand? Only used for beer can chicken and beef stew.

 

 

 

I love a good belly laugh and enjoyed a fun couple on our cruise that were entertaining. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Today we go to the hospital for an ultrasound on DH. Afterwards, we are going to Fish City for fried catfish. That's all we have planned but one never knows what may pop up.

 

Happy Birthday to @cruising along. No bubble? 

 

And prayers lifted for those on our Vanessa care list and our personal lists. DH got to speak a minute with Ron. His pain, plus Alzheimers, has really got him inside out. He thought he was in the hospital and was waiting for the doctor to release him.

I guess things are getting too congested at Port Everglades.  A relative will be on the Zaandam Feb. 3-17 cruise and it is listed as roundtrip Miami!

I like a belly laugh but have no pets and will pass on the beer cans.  I like the Lewis quote but have not been to Hafia.

 

We have a plethora of interesting days today, my favorite is probably the introduction of Scouting for Boys.

 

I'll pass on the Salmon.  I guess I was pretty well tired out yesterday and forgot what day it was.  My alternative meal then should have been Caesar Salad, Petite Fillet, and Not so Classic Baked Alaska as served in MS Prinsendam's Pinnacle Grill January 23, 2019:

 

 

My alternative for today is Chilled Mixed Berry Soup, Fruit Celebration, and Broiled New York Striploin as served pm MS Maasdam Jamiaru 24, 2015.

Good morning from a sunny Quartzsite.  It is 44F and our high will be 64F,  Unfortunately, it looks like the clouds will return shortly, and we'll have a partly cloudy day.  Not too much on the agenda today, just more of the same.

 

I can appreciate a beer can, but there are none here since beer and I decided we don't play well together.  One of the bar servers on the Koningsdam in 2002 made birds out of beer cans, and I was lucky to get two of them.

 

A good belly laugh is also appreciated.  I think we made all our pets lives better.  At least, one friend told us that when they died they wanted to come back as one of our dogs.  😁  I know they enriched our lives, and now our lives are a little duller without our pets, but as much as we traveled until the last four years, it would not have been fair to any pets.

The salmon cakes sound good, but they'll have to wait until after our cruise.  DH likes a G&T made with non-London dry gin.  The wine sounds nice, but too pricey.

 

We were in Haifa in 2017 on Prinsendam.  I'll retrieve my pictures in a few minutes.

 

Four interesting days in history.  I remember the introduction of the Macintosh computer.  Drexel University in Philadelphia required students to have a personal computer, and IIRC, they supplied the students with a Macintosh computer.

We were in Haifa on 10/22/17 on the Prinsendam.  On the recommendation of a fellow CC member, we hired a taxi for a tour and saw a lot of northern Israel.  Because there are quite a few pictures, I'll post the ones of Haifa first, then post some from our day outside the city.

Here are the rest of the pictures from our day touring northern Israel.

 

Our first stop was Nazareth and the Church of the Annunciation.  We were both surprised at how modern the church is.

 

 

 

 

 

In the open area beside the church was a view of the remains of the ancient village of Nazareth.

 

 

 

Naturally, across the street was the usual tourist trap (Opps! I meant, shop.)  😀

 

Our next stop was Cana and the wedding church where Jesus turned water into wine.  Since there was a service when we were there, we were not able to see the wine casks.

 

 

And nearby.

 

The next stop after Cana, was the Jordan River.

 

 

 

We made several stops along the Sea of Galilee and drove through the town of Tiberius before visiting Capharnaum.

 

 

 

 

 

 

At this stop, either we did not see a souvenir store, or I didn't take a picture of it.

Good Wednesday Morning Dailyites!  Its currently 49 and cloudy and drizzling.  I'm not into drizzle.  Unless it's chocolate on ice cream.  i like rain.  This way the wipers on the car don't get confused. And the sound of rain is so nice to sleep to.  BUT I did sleep last night.  Until 9 this morning!  Wow!  

 

I should have contacted you chefs yesterday.  We were going for pork tenderloin, the store did not have any unless it was prepacked and extremely salty, so we bought a boneless pork roast.  Cut it in half, and then I read the online baking instructions from total strangers...sometimes this works, but not last night.  It said 350 degrees for 20 minutes per pound.  The package said 2.48 pounds.  If cut in half that would be about a pound and a quarter, so I stuck it in, and cooked for 30 minutes, it was rare.  I put it back in for another 20 and it was still medium rare.  I like my steaks done either way, but not with pork, so any helpful hints for the other half?  It is currently waiting in the freezer awaiting instructions.

 

Beer cans...in college I had two friends who drank Heineken in green cans, they never threw them out, they were everywhere, under beds, in the closet.  They said they were collecting them so at the end of the year they would now how much they drank that year.  I guess paper and pen was too hard, but at Christmas, I made a Christmas tree out of them, and found a  Michelob gold and put it on the top.  It was about 5 feet high.  I think at that point, they gave up on the counting.....but the tree stayed up until May.

I have not been to the port, so back to Italy.  Day one, the Museum of Rome.

 

The museum had been originally the home and "castle" of one of the famous families, and he, the original owner, had been the mayor.  In all the places we went in Europe people spoke English, but not here.  No paper work to read, and a few small notes under the paintings.  Names of people are names of people, so no translation needed.  The building was very old, and some halls just were dead ends, but as usual we had fun.

Ceiling- when we were looking at this the other night, we noticed a hand held phone in the tree.  It's a hook for hanging the chandelier

 

 

 

I loved this sculpture, she was either a fairy, or an angel who's wings hadnt grown yet, but the thinness of her winds were incredible.  If you look out the window, you see scaffolding, the whole museum was covered in it.  Not sure they were working on the building, or it was being held up by the scaffolding.

 

I had read that the museum had a great restaurant, we were hungry, and so we ate there.  It was an old review.  Homemade Lasagna.  But when it arrived, it was frozen.  They had microwaved it.  But not enough.  I sent it back. It came back warm.  I gave up. I was hungry-but I felt like this-

 

Which was my favorite piece in the museum.

 

We wandered back to the hotel, and relaxed...I'm sure that Gelato was involved at some time during the afternoon.

Thanks Sharon. He tries to be such a good boy. We had a thunder storm start about 3 am this morning and the poor little guy was in such a tizzy he got sick. 

 

Our last dog (blue heeler/border collie) was so afraid of storms, gun shots, fire works she would cry til I got out of bed and we went in the closet. We had her 11 years!
