We were on Norwegian Gems maiden voyage from Dover England in October 2007.

It was Pauline's dad's last cruise.

We took Pauline's mam a year later on Norwegian Gem in memory of Pauline's dad.

We liked the Gem best when the singer Leo was on the ship entertaining .

As I previously posted he and I became e-mail friends.

I’ve had the coronation on my calendar since it was announced.  Unfortunately I couldn’t get the day off from the hospital so I will tune in by radio from 5:30- 6:30 on my commute in. DH says he’ll record it for me.

My daughter and I watched William and Kate’s wedding and Harry and Megan’s wedding.  We wore fascinators and had tea.  And of course the Queens 70 celebration. I love that you decorate for it!

Happy Cinco de Mayo, my favorite day!    Going down to AC for margaritas in Harrahs Diamond Club and to find my lost money🤪

Do RCI C&A vouchers work in that Diamond Club?

I don’t think I mentioned, but we are watching our grandkids today.  They have no school, due to a teacher’s in-service day.  Daughter was working this morning, then off for a treatment this afternoon.

Took the grandkids out to breakfast this morning, then back for some play time and tossing the baseball around.

Since it is Cinco de Mayo, lunch was tacos

and margaritas.

I could have had a couple more of these if we weren’t watching them.  Hmmmm. Wonder if I could make a pitcher to take to the game tonight?

So lovely as always. My SIL and BIL had their flights and accommodation booked but decided it was going to be too hectic and wouldn’t see much . So , they’ll be watching from Porto , Portugal.  It will be televised in the middle of the night here and I haven’t decided if I’ll stay up to watch it live .  I did for M & H wedding.

What’s on the menu ?

Congrats to our UK residents (Sue and Graham) for the Coronation tomorrow.

Our President and his wife are representing Israel. Direct TV coverage starting at 8am your time.

Amazing as Camilla went from "Princess Consort", to "Queen Consort" and finally "Queen Camilla" so smoothly....

I was sorry to miss this at home.  Charles chose the day after I booked the cruise.  I am also missing the first two Eurovision semi finals.  I would have booked the week later had I known the way the dates worked out.

Absolutely stunning picture.  Very minor alignment correction and this would be worthy of a National Geographic cover.

You have a great eye for capturing the spirit of the location.

Thank you so much, Dennis.

80% credit due to DH, who is the designated photographer.... I've been known to point him to interesting photo-op, so I'm "allocating" myself a whooping 20% 😉

I have our TV set to tape the coronation!  I taped Charles and Diana’s wedding a million years ago it seems.  We were on a cruise when William and Catherine got married so when I woke up I was watching pretaped coverage of the service on one of the news channels.  It was so beautiful…I watched it three times, I think, before DH asked somewhat testily if we could leave the cabin now…

We drove to Haleakala and back today with a stop for lunch.  Great trip.  Where are you going to be tonight, we should try to meet up.

Did you enjoy the drive up to Haleakala? Quite a drive isn't in one of those big busses isn't it. Not fun for the driver I would think.

We just got back from a nice lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant in Dallas you never need to drive too far to find a Mexican restaurant some are in walking distance. Had two margaritas and we shared a huge appetizer with a little of everything, I have never seen my wife order a shot of tequila before, I know her reasoning was it has less calories than a margarita, waitress asked what tequila Shelagh said to surprise her and surprise it was most likely the most expensive one they had.

We picked Owen up early at school today, for this to happen…

14 minutes later this happened. Owen now has his beginner license.

Meanwhile we watched many who had to rewrite their test because they had more than 4 wrong per section of the test. Owen had 3 wrong in total. One person only had 8 right out of 20. 😱

The Koutoubia Mosque is the largest mosque in Marrakesh. Non-muslims are not allowed to visit.

One of the synagogues. It seems that every Jewish Moroccan family had its own synagogue. So many of them.

I felt so bad for the horses waiting hours in the scorching weather.

Thanks Dani.  I was just reading in my online newspaper that the Chief Rabbi was given special dispensation to attend on the Shabbat.  I'm not sure if this link will work but it's interesting and shows how they are trying to make this inclusive and reflect our multi culture nation

It worked, thank you, Sue.

It is a big issue here in Israel that your Chief Rabbi was invited to take part in the Coronation, along with other representatives of different faiths.

Our first PM, David Ben Gurion, also went a long way on foot in order to participate in W. Churchill's funeral.

Congrats to Owen and congrats for his 16th birthday

Over here you can apply for a provisional licence at 16 , but not start driving until 17 or take your theory tests till 17

Exciting times for him!
I always referred to this as a double edged sword. On the one hand, it’s a relief when they can finally drive themselves to all the places they need to be; on the other hand, they’re driving themselves!

@A&L_OntCongratulations to Owen on passing the written driving test.  That is one sweet 16 birthday present.  Happy Birthday, Owen!

@dani negreanuSo glad you had a wonderful time on your trip except for the last part in getting home.  Thanks for all the beautiful pictures.

@grapau27, @sgmn We are eleven hours behind U.K.  We’ll be watching the coronation of your king at around 10:00PM on the ship.  Really looking forward to it.
