What did you do at Atlantis?

We looked at the casino, the aquarium and dig.  Then we found a place in the water park.  My husband did a lot of the slides and we both did the not so lazy river.  We swam in several of the pools and checked out the beach areas.  We didn't bring our snorkel stuff so we didn't snorkel.  It was a lot of fun  and I wouldn't mind staying for a few days.

Slowly adjusting to the time change, I managed to sleep in until 5 this morning.

Our rooms were open at 1 and our luggage was there waiting.  A few more pics of the rooms.

Welcome aboard bottle of champagne, water bottles and snacks.  There was also a letter that listed the choices of a bottle of spirits for your room.

image.thumb.png.94ef3c4388c031ca6d5533e32adddece.png

A fully stocked coffee bar in one of the cupboards

image.thumb.png.08df729d80067c7425dd7a5b62ad4001.png

Below this was also a fridge stocked with water, coke and Italian soda.

No problems with plugs, USB outlets or charging ports.  Each person has their own nightstand complete with all of the above as well as the chargers that you do not need a physical connection.  The main desk also had this as well as USB ports in the bathroom.

image.thumb.png.6eae088154f9cfe0f856798aebeb5d19.png

The nightstand has a neat feature.  There is a night in the bottom that is motion activated.  Very handy when getting up in the middle of the night.

Sarah's favorite feature was the make up table that has a Dyson hair dryer drawer.

The heated floors and the rainfall shower in the bathroom were also nice touches

After boarding and making our reservations for the Steakhouse we went to the buffet.  They had to have had more staff in there than they do on an Oasis class ship.  We found a table and sat down and immediately a waiter was taking our beverage order which was waiting once we returned with our food,  Nothing is self serve with all the food behind glass so you hand them your plate and they add what you want.  I'll post pictures another day when it is not busy and by busy I mean 1 or 2 people in front of you at one of the food stations.  So many different stations, sushi (delicious), ceviche, fresh grill, pasta, carving station, burgers, charcuterie, pizza, panini, desserts and I am sure I am missing a few.

Just like Royal they have a handwashing station as you enter but without the washy washy people and real towels to dry your hands.

Sounds wonderful. I like how they do the buffet with no self serve.

Sounds amazing. I still remember when RC had sushi in the “Jade” section of WJ a long time ago. Used to have some before dinner every night.

Might have to talk to my TA. He just keeps booking me on the same RC ships out of PC for some reason. 🤷‍♂️🤣

Enjoy your cruise!

@FromSea2ShiningSea

Looks like an amazing trip.   Beautiful photos with so many serene and peaceful places but Wow the amount of people at some places, especially that one crosswalk must have been overwhelming.

+1 @FromSea2ShiningSea  So many people!  It looks more crowded than NYC!

Good morning.

It is 48°F and cloudy here at 09.42am.

I'm hopeful for a lazy day watching TV.

I hope everyone is feeling well and happy today.

Beautiful sunny and warm day here in NJ.   The Roofers showed up right on schedule at 7 am this morning.  Naturally, as they are stripping the shingles off of the main part of the house, they pointed out that the attic fan is cracked, among other unexpected expenses that need to be addressed.  I love this house, but man, this is the third huge expense in the past two years.  First the chimney had to be torn down entirely and replaced.  This past December, we had all new heat/ac system done, and now the roofs..the house, attached apartment, garage, and 3 Season room.  I mentioned something to the Contractor this morning about the "surprises" this house keeps presenting to us, and he said "yeah..but it's a really nice house".

Now, at least all of the roofs will be matching😁

Nice photos...thank you for sharing.

That one fork looks deadly.   Is it used for seafood?  Maybe to open an oyster or clam or pick meat out of crabs?

The tag on the 3rd fork picture said it is a Pickle Fork. Definitely strange looking. Still can't figure out how to use it.

I remember you posting about the chimney. Hope all is resolved now.

Talking about surprises, at this rate, maybe dig in the back yard?......you may find a chest full of gold coins! 😁. Just kidding. Enjoy your house. 🥰

My mother had a pickle fork with sliding tines to push the pickle off.

This one looks like retrofitted or repurposed fork where you just stab the pickle and slide it off manually.

At Nassau today. 5 ships were here.  MSC Seahorse, Carnival Mardi Gras, Carnival Elation and one other ship.  We went to Atlantis and had a great time.  I would go back for a land trip.

Hopefully, you are taking a lot of pictures around the ship for future posting at your convenience. None of us, I think, has any idea what this ship looks like.

@FromSea2ShiningSeaHelen thank you so much for your amazing culturally rich photos.

@Jimbo I'm enjoying your photos.  Seems like a great get-away.

@Luckynana Maryann, thank you and others for mentioning Holocaust Day, a very solemn day all over the world.

We were lucky here in the Dallas area.  No flooding in my area, no tornadoes, no hail.  For now............

And good luck on the roofing.

@h20skibum Mark, great news on your daughter's recent scan.  So sorry about the loss of your friend, Greg.  Sounds like he had a fitting, emotional sendoff.

@Ourusualbeach Ken, continue to enjoy basking in cruise luxury.  Amazing cabin and balcony.  Dyson hairdryer!  No wonder Sarah is over the moon!

Pauline's brother is a builder.

He said there are always hidden problems with roofs of houses over a certain age.

I hope it is sorted for you at a reasonable cost.

Some good, and some not so good.

Good, as far as the latest scans for our daughter last week.

Not so good, in that our friend, Greg, passed away unexpectedly from complications due to a cardiac event.  He was a musician, and played with several bands in his career.  Very talented on keyboard, brass and vocals.  Susan and I helped out with the funeral dinner.

His funeral was unlike any I had ever been to.  Many of his band members came and played some of his favorites as a tribute.  At the end of the service, a video appeared on the screens of Greg playing and singing  an arrangement that was perfect for the end.  There wasn’t a dry eye in the place, and I guess he got to play at his own funeral.

RIP Greg.  You will be missed.

Sorry for your loss, may he rest in peace.

Your cabin is looking better and better.  Love the nightlight and the shower but I don't have a lot of use for the hair dryer. 😁  Are you in a suite or do all cabins get all of the liquid amenities that you mentioned?

Today 4/9/2024 starts Day 1 of our Celebrity Millennium Best of Japan cruise.

We have one more little pre-cruise excursion before our transfer to the cruise port.

Hokokuji Temple- best known for its beautiful bamboo grove with over 2000 dark green bamboo trees- is also known as the “bamboo temple”.

There are also a series of shallow caves carved into the hillside, which are believed to hold the ashes of some of the later Ashikaga lords.
