Refunds - any received to date?

Today I checked our credit card online and our Grand Africa 2020 cruise fare was fully refunded with an effective date of June 4.  It was a 66 day wait and I'm glad this is behind us.  We do wish to resume cruising when the world permits us.

Followed up today on chat regarding my April 5th sailing. They said that the refund was set for June 4th but there was an issue for the air portion purchased through HAL, so now they are working on that. They could not give me a date but cross fingers it will be soon...

Received my refund to my credit card yesterday for my May cruise to the Baltic...glad this is over for me.

I think we would have been on the same Baltic cruise, 05/10/2020 round trip from Amsterdam. I cancelled on 03/07/2020 through the Big C warehouse. After 61 days of no communications from HAL I disputed with the 2 credit cards I used. The 2 CCs gave me all my monies back in conditional credits. As of today, HAL has NOT sent me anything!!!

Did you get all your money back or did you get FCC for deposit/penalties and money back for the remaining cost? I cancelled 64 days before departure where I would be penalized the deposit amount. I booked at a special reduced deposit of $200. When I cancelled, I was expecting the $200 deposit penalty back as FCC but HAL turned that $200 FCC into $800 FCC. HAL said that the reduced deposit penalty is turned into a full deposit penalty. I think this is unfair because I don't see it anywhere in the contract. I really don't want any FCC. I hope HAL does not contest my disputes with the CCs. I don't know when I can cruise again.

Got or refund in for cancelled March cruise.  Also got a free cruise offer.

Funny I got a similar offer today from the HAL Casino. I was almost tempted to take up that offer, but I'm too concerned it may not be safe to cruise next year.... the final sailings on the offer were April 2021.

Friends received refunds yesterday. May 16 cruise cancelled by them on March 31.

Wait time was slightly over 60 days, which is what they were told at the outset.

They're happy  !

My May 4th cruise was cancelled and I'm still waiting for my refund.  Maybe HAL knows Canadian are more patient (LOL)

At day 87 now for our April 2 cruise.  DH did a chat yesterday with HAL and at least it sounds a bit hopeful.  He was told our cruise is now "unfrozen" which means they're working on ours now.  Before this they couldn't see where we were in the process.  FCC came a long time ago, waiting for $4000 in taxes, port fees and air.

"Unfrozen": is that a word? :)  You are on your way. You've had such a hassle of a time, please keep us informed!

At the rate HAL is going, they need us to be patient!

I waited 80 days and received refund today.   More money seems to be moving now.   Good luck everyone.

We booked cruises on HAL to Australia and New Zealand departing on October 19, 2020 through the big box travel agency headquartered in Issaquah, Washington.  We cancelled on March 16, 2020.  Our deposits were credited back to our credit card on June 8.

I've been logging into the HAL website, almost daily, to check on my June 13, 2020 Koningsdam cruise to Alaska.  We requested a refund at the end of March.  We have also rebooked for the same cruise June 12, 2021.  Up until yesterday, after logging in and going to 'My Account', I could still see both cruises listed under My Bookings.  However, yesterday and today, when I click on 'My Account', I just receive a blank page....just wondering if HAL is working through the refunds and FCCs requested for the June 13, 2020 cruise....I would appreciate anyone's thoughts or experiences regarding this.

I found out yesterday that our refund will still take 3 - 4 weeks more.  We cancelled March 7th (with PI).  Our friends who were on the same cruise (3 couples, 1 single) all have had their refunds/FCC since late March.  It is obvious there was a crack somewhere and we fell into it. I have learned something new about myself - I have more patience then I thought I did. The cruise date was April 19th.

I’m sure I am beating a dead horse, but has anyone actually gotten a refund yet?  I got ‘notice to refund’ on excursion and onboard purchases, but HAL said that just a notice to be refunded. No email notice on cruise/airline refund.   Sad.

Yes this week for our july Alaskea cruise.Jim

WOW.   That’s really bad news. I just don’t understand how they are handling the whole process this poorly. !

Yes, it’s really sad.  And to add to it, gigianne had platinum insurance for the cruise that the 3 of us were going to be on 😞

I wonder if having, or not having, insurance has something to do with it.   We had HAL's regular insurance, not the platinum, and as HAL cancelled our April 3 cruise, I am anticipating getting back the premium we paid for the insurance, too.   Whenever....

I don’t know but without getting personal, I know the person cancelled the same day as I did (before HAL cancelled).  Doesn’t put a lot of faith in HAL’s insurance.

IMO she should have been paid before me (I didn’t have HAL’s insurance) and another with platinum insurance was paid - go figure.  It seems to be a real mish mash, IMO.

She really has the patience of Jobe right now.

The guy at HAL that I talked with last night said they were up to the beginning of May with refunds.  Our Land portion as to start May 13th and cruise portion May 17th, so if that’s truly the case I should be seeing something in the next week or two. Fingers crossed.
