I know I once had a thread removed on the Cunard forum and when I emailed the mod it was not intentional, possibly just a misplaced cursor.  I think usually once a post is deleted anything related to it goes away as well.  I'm pretty sure I saw your post as well.

Roy

Thanks!

Yes once your post is gone your notifications are too.  That’s what threw me off this morning.  When I coudn’t see my post I went to my notifications and then realized there was no post.

It is what it is.

Tuesday, March 17, 2020 was the first issue of "The Daily, aka Fleet Report"!  Little did Rich and Roy know they would be keeping us entertained for a whole year.  We must have a party on that day to celebrate!  Before that, Rich had been doing the Fleet Report for who knows how long, but as it morphed into a Covid-time newsletter, many more were recruited into posting.  It certainly has kept me coming back regularly, whereas without a cruise in my future, I might have given up on CC...

Jacqui, @kazu, I saw your post, too.

Tuesday, March 17, 2020 was the last time we sat down in a restaurant.  Left the Rotterdam on the 15th in Puerto Vallarta and flew home.

That was my first full day on land in Perth.  My debut with the daily was Sunday, March 22.

That was the day we rolled up our sidewalks, so to speak. And most businesses came to a halt.

@kazu At least, I know now I haven’t completely lost my mind. I also remember your post from yesterday.

@smitty34877 I know you were disappointed to have to cancel your trip, but protecting yourselves and your family is very important.  Hopefully, you will be able to go in July.

I have been enjoying all the flower 🌺 🌹🌸 pictures. As I said this morning, I’m a stick them in the vase, add water and cross my fingers.  At least, I do know which end goes in the the vase.  If our oldest DD is around, I ask her to arrange them.  For an elective in high school, she took flower arranging, and she had to join the Future Farmers of America as part of the coarse.  We could never quite figure out why.

It was a busy day as we took a quick road trip to Yuma.   While DH stayed in the car, I also went across the border to Algodones, to pick up some things we cannot get here, or that are too expensive here.  Algodones is a border town that is mainly liquor stores, pharmacies, dentists and optical shops, along with the usual sidewalk vendors.  There are companies that do dental tourism there.  We also did some shopping in Yuma.

We decided not to get lunch there as we did not want to eat in the car and are not ready to dine in yet.  It wasn’t a bad day except for the high winds with higher gusts on the way back.  I’m glad DH was driving.  😜

As it’s chili day, I’ll make a quick pot of chili 🌶 and heat up a couple of cornbread muffins for supper.  They will go well with wine. 🍷

Hello Friends, This might be the latest I've ever posted my first post of the day here.  We drove home to Georgia from Clearwater Beach today.  I drove DH's car, he drove DS's car, loaded from top to bottom with all their gear.  We threw out everything left in the refrigerator and freezer, emptied the few items in the pantry and closed up shop.  The condo will have new residents tomorrow.

The entertainment last evening was sitting or standing on the balconies that overlooked Gulf Boulevard and watch the crazies who were trying to drive down the only road on that strip of sand where we were located, Sand Key.  From about 5 pm to 9 pm it was bumper to bumper going both north and south.  Most of the time just sitting there or inching along.  We saw a few people get into it because someone would try to use the center turn lane as a way to get ahead and cut in the line.  People must be deaf from the loud music some of them played.  We just loaded cars and stayed put in the condo.   The line was many miles long.enhance

About the time the traffic jam started we got a text from DS that our grandson was injured at his second soccer game of the day in the tournament in Indy.  The opposing goal keeper got a little rough and down DGS went, fracturing his clavicle.  They spent some time in the ER getting X-rays, a sling and pain meds.  This morning the family sat in the rain and watched his team win the third game of the weekend, minus DGS.  They are all home in Michigan tonight and will take our soccer star to an orthopedic specialist tomorrow or Tuesday for a second opinion and further care.  What a downer that was for all of us.  He's a champ though and powering through the pain in good spirits.  He wants to still attend the next tournament in North Carolina in two weeks, so that is still in the plans, just so he can cheer his team on, not to play.  He's a lucky kid to be able to do that sort of thing.  His parents are very supportive.

I was saddened to hear of @cunnorl's sad news about their brother passing so suddenly.  That is the worst, with no warning ahead of time to help prepare yourself.  Our deepest sympathies.

Have a peaceful evening everyone.

Thanks for the daily, dinner for us will be lamb cooked on the BBQ.

Always have fresh flowers in the house, for instance, today 2 vases of  Roses,  one of Sweetpeas, and another vase of Chrysanthemums.

Today is the 1st of March, some sunshine and expecting 22 C.

Keep well, stay safe everyone.

Good Morning everyone.

I have been missing for the past week as my brother died suddenly in Boston. Had just announced his retirement and was getting ready for work when he was stricken. It is hard to get my head around it. So we flew on a full airplane to Boston. We doublemasked and I wiped everything down.  Home now but I feel we should stay away from anyone.

On a much better note, our friends picked us up at the airport and went directly for our 2nd shot. Very well organized, they gave us lollipops and masks. The EMTs from Orlando were giving the shots.

Stay safe everyone and be extra kind to your friends and family.

Sending condolences, what a shock for you.

May precious memories be of comfort to you.

Hello  to  all. I  guess  I   will  have  to  be patient  for  a  little  while  longer and  schedule  our  visit  with  my  son's  family  for  Easter. My  DIL  is  concerned  about  the  variant  in  the  New  York  area, our  continued high  number  of  cases  in  our  zip  code  and  the  increased cases  in  New  Hampshire. I  reluctantly  agree  as  both  of  us  have  medical  issues  that  make us  more  risk  prone. We  will  continue  our  video  chats  with  the  family in  the  interim. I  am  sure  that  there  are  many  others  dealing  with  similar  situations  and  we  are  not  alone  in  this.

Terry

Sorry that you have to do this, but for the best but Sending virtual hugs as this is hard!

I am so sorry for your loss!  Hard to wrap your head around such an unexpected loss and these times make things even more difficult!

Here is Rich’s post about changing the name:

On 3/15/2020 at 6:39 AM,  DeeniEncinitassaid:

Look forward to more reports from Rich!

Since there won't be much to report on the fleet for the next few weeks, maybe I should rename it the Daily Report and continue the "Holiday" theme and use it as a place to update any information that might be available.

Any suggestions?

I just read through that thread.  Oh, how optimistic we all were thinking we'd resume cruising by summer.  We hadn't a clue what we were in for.

March 16 was the day I disembarked QM2.  And somewhat to  my surprise I did post on the very first "Daily".
